The only con is the plastic main zipper that has rather large teeth. Why they would ruin this amazing coat with a zipper that doesn't feel like it will last is a head scratcher. I do have older North Face waist length coats with a smaller tooth on the zipper and those coats are at least 4 years old with no zipper issues so I am keeping my fingers crossed that the larger teeth and longer zipper length won't be a wear and tear issue. The North Face has never done me wrong before. This coat is amazing, stylish, warm and full of pockets in all the right places. Hand warmer pockets, deep pockets, and hidden pockets behind the deep pockets, inner card/phone pocket. Stylish snap waist clinchers. Detachable fur on hood (thank goodness). Inner sleeve cuffs to keep the snow/breeze out. The North Face really did their research for this coat. It isn't a lightweight coat. It has some heft to it. If you want to look stylish while being blanketed in a soothing warmth then this is the coat for you. The hood is great too. I purchased the green one and I love the subtle color. I live in Alaska and our winters see temperatures below 20 regularly and I love this coat.

Beautiful parka. I did a lot of research before getting this parka. I own a TNF Artic parka that I needed to replace and wanted something warmer and not too boxy. I loved the quality of the outer boroughs, and yes, it is warm. The fur sat nicely around my face (unlike the Artic parka). Sadly the parka didn’t fit well. I got my same xs size as always in TNF. The shoulder area felt tight. The neck, when closed, went all the way to my nose. I’m petite and 110 lbs. I sent it back and got a CG instead. I still think this is a great parka and for the price if it fits you, you’ll be happy with it! For slender and taller, not sure for petite.

I am 5'5", 114#, 34"-35" chest. Ordered a Small. The coat fits great everywhere except it feels tight under the arms and chest when wearing just a T-Shirt. I recommend ordering up a size if you are Busty. I reordered a Medium, hoping this works.

This is a very heavy coat. It runs small and I didn’t like the style on me. I will be sending it back.

The sizing is way off for a company whose target buyers are athletic women. I’m typically a small, but with winter coats I go up a size to be able to layer underneath. Having tried on other TNF coats,I knew they ran small, so I got a large and, while it wasn’t too small, it was very stiff. My arms had very little range of motion. In addition, the collar is even stiffer; and, even more annoying was how inefficient the collar is: it comes up way too high (to my nose) to be comfortable, and not zipping all the way up creates a starchy, tent-like bulkiness at the face. The faux fur around the hood does zip off, but then the hood is too short to fully cover one’s head. Why don’t more companies make hoodless coats or coats with removable hoods? Personally, I hate hoods. If it’s that cold out, I’ll wear a hat. On the plus side, it has many pockets, which are very secure. I was thrilled when this coat when on sale, and very disappointed to have to return it. Thankfully, Zappos has free returns. And, as always, their customer service is stellar!

This coat felt about 2 sizes too small. I could barely zip over my chest and there is no way I could have fit even a moderately thick sweater underneath it. Overall great comfort and style. Ordered a L, typically a M-L. 36-38G chest, 170lbs, 5'7".

I bought this coat to replace another north face coat which I had worn for the past ten years and was always warm with. That coat was similar to the arctic ll parka for sale This new coat is definitely not as warm, I am warm in mild winter temperatures but as soon as it gets to -10 and below I am cold, the wind cuts through the fabric, and I don't feel much warmth, as well feathers leak onto my cloths when wearing it, in comparison my old north face coat rarely leaked feathers and kept me warm at -30 degrees

This is a beautiful jacket. It's tapered so you actually look feminine in it. It's one of the few winter jackets that give you a nice fitted waist, but the chest area is really tight. I am a relatively small woman. I'm a B cup and this jacket is still restrictive in the chest area. I can't imagine how it would fit for anyone bigger than that. If you go up a size the jacket just makes you look like your getting lost in it.

I ordered a medium which is a snug fit. I would have kept the parka if it wasn't that long for me. It reached my knees already since it is a jacket for tall people. I am petite that's why it's too long for me. I really liked the design of the parka since it forms your body and it has a lot of pockets but had to return it since it looked like a dress when I wore it.

So excited that I purchased this Parka! I bought the medium and the fit is perfect. (I am 145lb, 5'4", 34D, and it is roomy enough to move around and wear a sweatshirt. I bought at the end of the season, so I cannot say how good it is in cold temps, but it feels way better than my current coat. I choose this coat based on Gearlab reviews, and I as happy to see it discounted on Zappos

Love the style and warmth. I tried this one and I found this is very similar to Canada goose Rossclair parka. North face is definitely a winner for the price point. For reference, I am 5'2 and 130lbs. I got small and it fit snug. I won't layer with extra clothes. It will keep you warm in the extreme cold weather condition.

I had a Skidoo snowmobile jacket for the longest time. This pales in comparison for warmth being a parka. Wouldn't go back.

I commute to work in Boston( weather can range from -5F to 35F in the winter )walking 10-15 mins. Needed a nice warm jacket where the wind doesn't creep up from under you, it definitely keeps you warm and dry from the snow/rain. You can remove the fur part to avoid a wet hood. I love how there's so many pockets! The only thing I'd like to see added is straps to carry them by from the inside For when you go shopping Or you're out walking and don't want to carry it around on your arm when it gets warm.

Love the coat! Very warm and insulated. It is a bit heavy, so if you're not use to weighted items, take this into consideration.

I am so happy I bought this coat. It's even nicer in person. Flattering, comfortable, and warm. The length is great, the pockets are awesome, and the outer fabric looks durable and of high quality. I bought the "new taupe" color and it is really beautiful, a little different but still neutral. I am 5'5" 120 lbs and the small fits me well with room enough for a heavy sweater or sweatshirt.

I am obsessed with this coat. I have never had a long parka before and the only downside is that you have to unzip from the bottom to have a little more mobility when hiking, driving, riding a bike, etc. However, that does not take away from the love I have for this coat. Highly recommend to anyone looking to up their winter style game and stay super cozy and warm in the meantime. Slim fit means I don't look like a Michelin Man while dressed for very cold temps.

I use it everyday and it's very comfortable and WARM so it keeps me warm when I'm out in this freezing cold weather. Only con about it is that even XS is little big on me so wish they had XXS for petite women.

At first I've purchased the WOMEN'S ARCTIC PARKA II(XS) I thought the look was too boring and there wasn't enough pockets for the price. This jacket came with 4 extra pockets and the fur/hood is so much better and bigger. I am 5'2 105lbs brought this in a XS and the jacket still has room for me to move around unlike the arctic parka in XS. Wore this on a 27 degree weather in NY and I was super warm. So glad I did the exchange.

This is a beautiful, warm parka. I was on the fence between the outer boroughs and the arctic II and I chose the outer boroughs mainly for the extra pockets and the fleece cuff mittens. The adjustable button waist gives this parka a nice feminine look. I'm 5'3,116lbs, & size 34A. I chose size Small and I am able to cinch the waist to the second button. I have plenty of room to layer. The new taupe green is a beautiful neutral grey/green color.
