I use this jacket every single day. It is getting cold in Madison, especially with the tall buildings and the wind all billowing up around everything. I have been warm every single time that I've worn it, except when it was raining. Even on the chilliest of days, I still got a little bit sweaty from how warm I was! So worth it, though. I know I will love that in the winter. When it did rain, the rain did not seep into the jacket, though, and I do not believe that snow would penetrate either. It also dried immediately upon getting indoors. I love all the pockets, too - there are so many are they are very large. It's also very stylish and matches anything that I wear. There're endless great things I could say about this product! The only two bad things I would say about it is that it's a little heavy, but that's understandable, and sometimes the zipper is hard to zip up.

I bought this coat, so I could stand outside at recess and watch elementary students. It is fantastic at blocking wind and I LOVE the built in mittens.

At 5'9" and 165 lbs I usually order a large, but your sizing help suggested an XL for a looser fit that will allow for a warm sweater. By cinching in the waist I get the right fit. It is in the 40's now and I arrive home after a dog walk nice and warm. This is a great coat. I used to have the NFace thigh length puffy coat but, although it was warm, it wasn't waterproof and I got tired of the "Michelin man" look. I agree that the top on this coat is a little more snug fit than I would like but I am a B cup so it's not a big problem. NF needs to listen and correct with their supplier.

This coat is great for frigid, windy days! A great length, even though I would consider myself shorter than average. My only complaint would be that the shoulders are a bit narrow for my preference and slightly restricts movement. Also, I LOVE that there are two, technically three, sets of pockets! Overall, I would definitely recommend this coat to anyone looking for a thick, warm, lasting coat.

I am not happy in cold weather. This parka keeps me warm and snug. I feel protected from the wind, rain and cold temperatures. I am old school and keep my winter coats for several years. I have no doubt this jacket will will serve me well for that. I really lve how I look in it and how I feel in it.

This coat is great! It's nice and warm, just tested it today in -10C with a windchill of -20C and no real layering, just a t-shirt and light cashmere sweater. I can fit a fleece under it although it's a bit bulky (not overly restrictive). The XS fits perfectly and it's amazing how flattering and striking (in red!) the coat looks despite being warm. I'm 5'5, about 31/25/36 with a 28DD/E bust (equivalent to a 32C on a small ribcage). The construction is really solid and it's truly windproof. I will happily wear this for the rest of my life of they keep making it in 20 years!

I am 5' 4" tall and 150 lbs. The coat is a bit snug in the chest area. I think that if you could adjust the back belt one more notch bigger, it would be perfect if you want to layer. However, I love the slimmer look, and it kept me toasty warm in Palmer AK, which is why I bought it. I would definitely buy this coat again.

TNF did an exceptional job when designing this parka. I live in Northeast Ohio and we are having an unusually cold day (temperatures in the 20s F with wind chills making it feel like 9- 14) so it was a perfect morning to see how this piece performs and it didn't disappoint. It provided great coverage and warmth while blocking out the frigid wind. This parka is aesthetically pleasing and the lines are flattering to the female form. Rather than just looking shapeless and bulky like some coats tend to do, having the adjustable belt snaps on the back of the waist provides a feminine silhouette. It's pretty while still being rugged and having utilitarian features. There are four (rather than the usual one or two) pockets on the front and one interior pocket. The snaps and zipper, when worn all the way up, will protect your lower face as if you were wearing a scarf, and there are mitten sleeve ends. The faux fur hood tops off a great design. The fact that it's machine washable is also a huge bonus. This parka is true to size in terms of fit. I'm tall with an hourglass figure and usually wear size M in women's or size S if I'm wearing a men's hoodie, etc. I ordered this in a M and even with a fuller bust, it fits perfectly. It didn't feel too tight or loose in any areas. This is a solid and dense coat but isn't cumbersome or heavy to wear. I'd recommend it 100%.

With very cold/snowy winters, this coat is perfect for cold and windy conditions. I have quite a long walk at my work campus and this coat is perfect for keeping me warm. The fit is great and flattering. I absolutely love the cuffs and hood!

It is not cold enough to wear at this time but having tried it on I know that it will be warm and comfortable. I love the slim style, which is flattering, and the color. The soft collar is a plus for cold windy days.Delivery was prompt, the box

This jacket is so warm in the cold Canadian winters! I like the length of the jacket and the height of the collar which helps limit of cool air coming into the jacket; even on windy days I'm still warm! No need for multiple layers. I have searched for a reasonably priced jacket like this for a long time, that would really deliver. I wouldn't recommend another jacket.

Having joined Northwestern as a freshman, and hailing from sunny SIngapore which is on the Equator, it was important for me to find something that would keep me warm and cozy during harsh Evanstom winters. My North Face Parka was exactly what I was looking for !

Love the quality - however.......all my North Face coats are medium but I had to return this one for a large because it was very tight on the chest. If you are usually a snug medium, I would definitely go large (I'm 5'8" 138 lbs) Otherwise beautiful coat!!!!

I am 5'8 and purchased the Medium. Fits good but a bit snug under arm, which I think will give a little after some use. I decided to purchase this version (last years model) because personally it looks more stylish than this years version. I love the pockets in the front and the belt, which provides some shape. Overall happy with this purchase. This is my second NF jacket in less than 3 years. Unfortunately my last one leaked many feathers, as inside arm seam material didn't withstand. This is my replacement. It is however a very warm jacket for our cold winters. I'm going to give it another go, hoping this version is better than my previous. :-)

I live in Wisconsin so a warm coat is essential. This coat is mostly warm and has features that I like, such as two sets of outer pockets. However, the seams aren't all sealed. There is one set in particular just above the elbows -- when I wear this coat, I'm completely warm except for the wind seeping through at the elbow and freezing me! I'm not sure if this is a manufacturer error or if the coat is just not designed to be sealed there. As others have remarked, the coat runs small and the arms are somewhat long, but I don't mind this. I love the fleece wrist liners in the coat and the way they are designed. I love this coat but am not sure if I'd buy again... It's too pricey to not have all the seams sealed and this makes me wonder about quality and durability overall.

I really love this coat for its features. The parka does an amazing job at protecting you from very cold days. I no longer layer up or bring my scarf as often as I would with my other coats. The HyVent design protects your neck very nicely. My ONLY PROBLEM with the coat is, it is not designed for curvy women. I'm a Size Small with thicker thighs and this Parka bulks up once I start walking and coat bulges around the upper pocket area. For me, I have to unzip the bottom at all times, which takes away from protecting my lower body from the cold coming in.

Most of my sweatshirts and jackets are Northface and I usually wear medium. I bought this jacket in a medium. It is warm but it seems to be a big.

Absolutely love this coat. Received it as an early Christmas gift. North face products have always lasted me many years whether it be a jacket, hat, or gloves. I like that the zipper comes up from the bottom end upwards allowing you for more room when sitting down.
