This was the best investment. I live in Buffalo, NY we had a very cold winter but not for me. I am out walking my dogs, I am warm.

I bought this jacket because it had all the features I had been looking for. I live in Minnesota and its so nice to have a jacket that covers down to my knees. No cold wind gets trapped inside the coat, which has been an issue in the past. The only problem I have is the zipper but that is probably because its a new coat. Overall I love it and it keeps me so warm.

I work a job where I get called out in middle of night. So going from a cozy bed to a cold car to works "sucks". This coat stops the wind, rain, and with the lining it stops the cold. I have heated car seats but this keeps your "seat" warm until the car does. Highly recommend especially if you are out. Works great when walking the dog. Easy to move in it. LOVE it.

I absolutely love this coat. I wanted a coat for frigid color temperatures that covered my waist. This coat is SO warm and comfortable! The pockets are amazing and perfect to hold lots of items without feeling bulky. I can wear this coat with a short sleeve shirt and still be warm in below zero temps. I highly recommend this! I normally purchase XS in Columbia but decided to go with Small this time, fits great!

I looked around for a few months for a great coat I could wear out and about but mostly for sitting in hockey rinks all winter. This one is perfect! It came just in time for our home tourney and I was at the rink all weekend and not even a tiny bit cold! I usually have to wear a hat, mittens, huge scarf, fleece under layers and a sweatshirt. I didn't even need to wear any under layers! We are also going through a cold snap here in WI, with wind chills in the -20s. I didn't even feel the wind through the coat while I was running errands. That's really important to me when I'm out shoveling, too. I'm a big fan of the Omni-Heat! I love the multiple pockets, as well. I can fit my iPhone plus and wallet and charging cables in the bigger ones and still use the upper ones to keep my hands warm. I don't even need to bring my purse into the rink anymore.
The only issue I have is the zipper is a bit finicky. We will see how that lasts but I'll happily deal with that to stay warm.
For sizing, I have a medium and it fits great even with a sweatshirt underneath ( I'm 5' 6", 135#). Not too large with just a T-shirt beneath. The front hits around mid thigh and the back covers my butt when I'm sitting on the bleachers.

So after a long search for the right very warm winter jacket I was deciding between 3 of them (arctic parka, chelsea, and this one). The arctic just didn't feel like it fit correctly and the worst part was the material picked up every little piece of lint/hair/dirt, not really the look I want wearing all that extra material. The Chelsea I read had many complaints about the "squeak" but I would call it more of like a sound you make when wearing snow pants, also not ideal. While that jacket by far was the most flattering in terms of cut my goal here was to get a jacket that serves its purpose of keeping me warm. It does look nice too but that's more of a bonus and not really the main criteria for me. Now, getting to the important stuff. I'm 5'5 and bought the Medium, the jacket is a really good length, it covers my bum and a portion of my legs. It has the two way zipper which is really a must for me with longer coats. The little details on this jacket were really what sold it for me. There are TONS of pockets all of which are lined, there is a fleece type material around the neck area which is a super nice touch as it feels soft against your face. The hood is good and can be tightened and adjusted to fit your needs. After my first time out I didn't feel that sweaty feeling after I took it off which was a big problem with my last jacket, it just didn't breathe but the whole time I was out I didn't feel that cold air go through the jacket. I will say the jacket is snug on me with layers underneath but I find that to be better then swimming in a jacket as you then get those cold air pockets inside. It would be nice if it was a little more form flattering but again this jacket by far serves it's purpose as a really tough, warm, and practical jacket for these cold Chicago winters. Just wish Columbia would make my dogs a matching jacket! Did I mention the instructions say it's machine washable?

This coat does exactly what it purports to do. It's waterproof and really warm on the coldest NYC days.
My only suggestion is that the faux-fur on the hood is not up to the rest of the quality of the coat. I removed it, but I would have preferred something that looked wearable.

The length is perfect to keep your bum warm on cold weather adventures. I wore it recently (along with a lot of other layers) on a pre-dawn January excursion to Bear Lake in RMNP. The wind, as always, was howling but I was still toasty warm despite the blowing snow and chilly temps.
I appreciate the number of pockets and the fact that most of them zip securely closed. As a photographer, I'm constantly stuffing sometimes expensive things in pockets while I'm trying to get "the" shot. So lots of secure pockets are a plus for me.
The brown color is a little... dusty. I usually prefer a richer brown, but this one was on sale (and wasn't boring old black) so I'll keep it. I bought this coat for functionality, not fashion after all.

I absolutely love this jacket. I was worried about making it through my first winter on the east coast after coming from a state where the temps stay warm. I took a chance and got this coat online hoping the reviews were true. Gladly, they are. This jacket is incredibly warm and functional. It's very comfortable and due to there being two zippers, it's easy to sit down in this long jacket. Although the jacket is long and heavy duty, it is not heavy to wear or carry. Due to the OMNI heat insulation on the inside of the jacket, my body was able to stay warm even when the temperatures were in the single digits. I am just hoping this jacket can last me a good few years. I definitely recommend this jacket for folks that have to experience winters where the temperatures stay below freezing.
I am about 5'6 and 170lbs. I ordered the Large and love it. I can layer it or not without it feeling snug. I honestly could of gotten a Medium but I like the extra room in the Large.

I am 5' 4-5", about 125 lbs and the small was a little large for me around the waste and on the sleeves. I ended up returning for an xs and it's perfect. The neck zips up high so you don't feel any drafts and the coat itself keeps in the heat so you're really not cold... at all. And that's coming from someone who is ALWAYS cold. I currently live in Ireland where the cold is damp and gets down to your bones and this jacket was a savior for me.

This jacket is exactly what I wanted. Perfect length to cover your bum & thighs. Definitely warm enough to battle even the coldest temperatures. I've worn it for 2 snow storms now and it holds up to the weather perfectly. I sized up so I could wear bulky sweaters and scarves underneath but I probably didn't necessarily need to do that, by the size of the coat it almost seems like they take that into consideration for you. Still keeping my large though, I kinda like the oversized fit. It covers my entire neck and a bit of my face. I'd wear this coat to climb Mt Everest... it's that kind of warm and comfortable. And has a good amount of pockets without having too much of a "utility" look to it. Overall, I'm very happy with it!

Generally the coat functions well and keeps me warm. One small thing is the quality of the fur of the hook is not that good.

I live in Chicago, so I need something for the wind and cold. I also go to my parents farm in Indiana on the weekends with my 5 year old daughter and dog. We like to go sledding in the winter, out in the woods. I needed a jacket that would cover my butt, I could go sledding in it and little twigs would not tear it up. So far this jacket has been great for various weather conditions. The material is good and sturdy, I have already gone sledding several times. My mom the farmer needed something warm and sturdy to take care of the chickens in the winter and I told her that this would be a good jacket for that and she bought one too!

I recently purchased this coat. I wear a 10 but bought a large. It fits great with a little room for sweater underneath if you desire. It is so comfortable, long enough to keep your legs warms but not restricting. I like that the zipper goes two ways so you open up the bottom when your sitting in a car. I love the material, heavy enough without feeling weighted down. Sooooooo warm!

I am from San Diego but attending graduate school in Boston. I spent a lot of time researching different jackets and I this was the best jacket I found in terms of warmth and features. It is a great length (I am 5'10 and it stops midthigh). The pockets are amazing! I store my gloves and hats in the square pockets and use the pockets above to keep my hands warm. Both sets of pockets are lined and warm and the pockets are at the perfect angle for walking with your hands inside! I love the inside pocket near the zipper I store my Charlie Card and chapstick in there. The omniheat really does keep you warm. I walk on average 3 miles round trip from my apartment to school and I am always warm. Recently I wore just a t-shirt underneath and was still comfortable when out walking and running errands. Also the neck part is lined which is extremely clutch. Many of my friends with other jackets have expressed they wish they had purchased this jacket. I am 5'10, 160 and I ended up getting the XL so I could layer underneath. The jacket is plenty spacious and there are fastners at the bottom so you can tighten it which I did to better adjust the jacket to my body! I have been wearing this jacket for the last two weeks and have absolutely no complaints.

I really like this jacket. I bought this to replace another Columbia jacket I had. Length is great, I love the fleece at the collar. It is a tad big. Wish I would have sizes down as it's even a tad large when I layer with a bigger sweater but kept it anyway. I like all of the pockets, it has an inside pocket as well

Just perfect! I bought this jacket in anticipation of the frigid weather that I would be experiencing in Connecticut and New York over the next few months. I am very happy with my purchase!
I bought one size up according to the size chart and it was perfect. (I normally go one size up anyways). The size allowed me to wear one or two layers underneath the parka and I still had room to move around. The fleece material around the neck was very comforting, especially when the wind chills made the air icy cold! The hood was very warm too! I’ve experienced about 20 degrees to 0 degrees F weather so far, and when I layer appropriately, I am quite comfortable in this jacket.
My only complaint was that the zipper is a bit hard to work with at first. I’m not sure if I was given a defective one or not, but every time I have to zip up my jacket, I have to try a few times before my jacket is fully zipped up. Other than, I am very happy!

I absolutely love my ICELANITE jacket! The funny thing is, I bought it for a New Years trip to Iceland. I also wore it for the Paris portion of the trip too. It was super warm, waterproof, and stylish. My favorite features are the pockets, hood, and double zipper.
It's hard to find such a warm jacket that doesn't make it look like you're a marshmallow. Not only is the high/low hem functional, it's also attractive. I'm 5'6", 125 lbs and the small had plenty of room for extra layers (even though you won't need them). The adjustable strap on the back is AMAZING! It really helps to make the jacket look and feel fitted.
I typically have problems with coat sleeves being too short but not this one. They are a perfect length and have a sung cuff to help protect against the elements.
I only have two suggestions; add an interior strap for use while traveling and make the hood fur a bit fluffier. The fur in the pictures looked more like a mixed tan color but came as a light gray.
Overall, I highly reccomend this jacket! It was totally worth the cost.

I am very, very happy with the warmth and quality of my coat. I normally wear a size medium in a coat but wear a size large in this style of Columbia coat. It is a longer style which I like because it keeps my rear-end and legs warm yet it does not feel bulky. Love the many pockets. I recommend this coat. The silhouette is interesting and adds some style. The cut is shorter in the front and slightly longer in the back adding visual interest.

Just received this coat today and in the few short hours i wore it, i can tell it's going to be prefect. True to size- just follow the sizing chart. Love the length, it covers your bum when you sit but it doesn't feel so long that you're wearing a sleeping bag. Easy to move around in- but most importantly keeps you warm and dry!
