I bought a pair of these gloves to wear under my other gloves, particularly while I'm out cross-country skiing. I have poor circulation in my hands and my fingers get very painful when they are cold (and then thawing out); I was hoping these gloves would help with that. I've had them for a few months now and have worn them quite a bit, in temps ranging from the 30s to about 5 (with a windchill below zero).
My hands are fairly small--about 3.5" across the widest part, if you include my thumb knuckle in the measurement; for length, it's about 4.5" from the base of my thumb to the tip of my middle finger--so I order an XS. The gloves fit well; the fingers are almost a bit short and the palm is almost a bit wide, as can be expected with my hand measurement. I can feel the seams a little bit at the tips of the fingers, but it isn't very noticeable. The touchscreen grips at the tips of the fingers work most of the time.
As far as the glove serving its purpose, that's hit or miss. My hands/fingers still get painfully cold, especially for the first 30-40 minutes of skiing so it's hard to say if the gloves are helping. It's nice that they offer a lot of dexterity and I can do most things easily if I take my outer glove off (but they don't offer much protection from the elements because they are very thin). I like them, but I wish they cost $5 because that's about what I'd assess their value at...

These are real thin and pretty cheaply made. I'd skip

Each finger is a different length. And the mobile phone touch sensors do not work at all.

My son purchased a pair for me and I was thrilled at first until the rubber started to wear and within weeks, there were small holes in the stitching which got worse from use. I didn't want to say anything to my son since they were a gift but should have sent them back within the warranty period. To me, they aren't worth the cost he paid.

I used these for keeping my hands warm during running. After reading the other reviews, I thought they would be good down into the 30s and 40s, but they really are not. I need to find warmer gloves to run in these temps. I haven't had the opportunity yet, but I'm sure they'll be much better in the 50s-60s.

I have worn these gloves for about 2 weeks just while I am driving to work - not heavy use at all. The first day I wore them, one of the rubbery lines across the index finger ripped off from touching my steering wheel. Within 2 weeks, many of the rubbery lines have ripped off. Then then colorful tab on the right glove ripped halfway off because that is the natural place to grab when I pull the glove on. Needless to say, I thought that for this company, the glove would be more durable! I am generally very gentle on things and usually keep items like gloves for years and years! Otherwise, these gloves are very thin, but are a good weight for driving, even when cold. They would also be good as a liner. I would remove the rubber strips and the colorful tag and then they would be fine.

Too thin and not warm for Midwestern weather, in my experience. I even thought they were too thin for a liner glove. I sent them back. I prefer the other Smartwool liner gloves. The sizing on these was different than the other Smartwool gloves I have ordered -- a M fit me whereas another Smartwool M was too large for me. The glove sizing does not seem to be consistent so it can be hard to order online. Good news is Zappos is good with returns and exchanges.

The fabric is fine, but the index and thumb markings for texting do not work and a hole is near the seam under the right thumb.

I bought these for my winter in Chicago commute on public transportation. They are not warm enough at all and the sewing on the thumb tips is sloppy so the pad is not aligned when I use my phone. The size is also too big, despite the fact that I measured my hand first and used your sizing chart. These replaced a pair I had made by another company that finally wore out. They were much warmer and made better and nearly the same cost.

These gloves are useless when it comes to providing warmth. They feel like nylon, not merino wool. I am very disappointed in them.

Very disappointed in the gloves. They are not warm at all. Even as liners for other gloves. They feel more like nylon than merino wool.

I wasn't expecting the gloves to be as thin as they were. I wear them now under my regular gloves or for driving. Not much warmth provided from them. I know I should have returned them, but didn't want to mess with the hasslethat's on me.

The grippy part on the fingers shredded and came off within a few days of use. Within a month I have massive holes in 4 of the fingers across both gloves. I used these as glove liners while skiing so I did not put them through heavy wear. Really upset with the quality. Don't waste your money on these.

My hand measures 6" from the base of the heel to the end of my middle finger. It is very hard for me to find gloves small enough to fit well. The XS does fit me pretty well, and that's a plus. However, these gloves offer almost no warmth. It's almost like my hands feel colder after I put them on the air seems to go right through them. I may use them as an inner liner under a larger glove or mitten.

I used these gloves for one ski season as liners and am having to throw them away. Multiple holes in fingers. Some fingers sticking through. Plastic lines peeling off of fingers.

fit and size were great for my small hands (size xs) but these were flimsy, even for liners. not worth $30 IMO. Also, just realized that amazon owns zappos (i missed the boat on that one). that partly explains some of the poor quality items i'm seeing here in recent years (knock-offs?) i try to not purchase from amazon, which means i'm no longer going to purchase from zappos. bummer.

The globe feels good. However it cannot be that in less than after just ten days of used Is broken in for different places. Not to say that the touch screen material wore out after two days of use. Just to clarify how I use the gloves. I use them as base layer gloves. Always with another pair of gloves over. Just terrible

Used them on a three camping trip and they only lasted two days. All the texture that they use on the finger tips fell off. I bought them to use for this reason. They also don't work very well at keeping your hands warm.

Disappointed. I love Smartwool socks and tops. These gloves arrived with a hole along the seam. They looked cheap in general. Returned and don't want replacement.
