Really wanted my boyfriend to have a nice stylish yet warm jacket for Christmas. Unfortunately, it was too small. He needed a 3XL and they are not available in the stores to try on. So I had to return it.

The jacket is warm, feels soft and light but the sleeve width for the jacket is completely wrong for the fit of the jacket. It needs to be narrower and not so big at the bicep.

Went out searching for a jacket for the winter at Sports Authority and stumbled across this jacket. I was immediately impressed with the texture and warmth and good look of the jacket, bought it on the spot. After I had worn the jacket for no more than 6 hours across 3 days, I noticed the stitching had already started to snag and become loose. Looks nice, feels great, unfortunately poor quality for at least my jacket, hopefully just a fluke.

I so want to like this product. North face has done a fantastic job on the insulation material. Wore just this on a chilly 10F NYC night and I was super warm. But the outer shell is very very poorly built. It started ripping just after 3-4 days. A 15D-1.16OZ shell is no good for a day to day jacket. It just can not sustain day to day wear. I really wish North Face works on the shell.

I had been looking at getting the Patagonia Nano Puff, but then this jacket came out and I decided to go with the Thermoball because it sounded like it would be even better. Not so much. The front zipper was busted and would only unzip half way. The right pocket zipper wouldn't unzip at all. I was able to get the jacket on and the length and arms were a good fit, but the shoulders were a bit wide and large. Overall, it looks nice, but the quality is sub-par. Not what I expected from The North Face. Severely disappointed. I will definitely be taking this back and going with the Nano Puff.

I love North Face Products for my family. Normally my son wears a medium (based on his build). I originally purchased a medium and had to return it because my son's arm length required additional length for his arms. Suggestion: Create a product that accomodates extra long arms -Medium size with longer arm length would be ideal for someone like him. Just a thought. Thank you.

The old thermoball jackets fit great. The new one like the one I purchased are too tight around the middle and the shoulders.

I really wanted to love the jacket it's my first north face product. I really like the fit it fits me perfectly. The only issue I have is the quality of the stitching is very poor I expected a higher standard from them. I own jackets from patigonia and arcteryx I should have just went with a Nano puff or atom lt. It was on sale so I guess you get what you pay for.

The product came dirty from the collar. It looks like it's like dried up sweat or something. Like if someone wore it a lot and then returned it. Very disappointing to be honest.

This item fits too tight to put anything under it and way too light for cooler days! So go up in a size.

I've taken this product camping, hiking, travelling, in harsh conditions. On it's own this jacket is terrible at staying warm and dry, must he used as a mid layer i guess, and at that point I'd rather just use a warm fleece which would he more comfortable anyways. 1 star for style - nothing for functionality. I'm glad I got this on sale for like 80$, otherwise I would have been terribly dissapointed in the tech at full price.

They should've stuck with the previous generation of this jacket, the one with the hour-glass shaped pattern. The sleeves were long enough and had a better over all fit. Thankfully I purchased three jackets in different colors of the previous gen... North face if something isn't broken don't fix it!

I think it is time to stop buying The North Face products. I have always been a medium and have several Thermoball jackets and a couple 3 in ones. I bought a light down jacket and had to return it as the medium was too tight. I reordered a large and kept it, but the sleeves were too long and I have to fold them. I just received a medium Thermoball Eco Jacket and it too is being sent back for being too tight. If I had not gotten a credits for a shell 3 in one covered by the lifetime warranty, I would not be buying any more from TNF, but it seems that it is getting hard to use the credit so that I can kiss TNF goodbye.

My wife purchased this from a retail store. I wore it maybe 15 times. The outer layer is super thin and rips very easily. I was just moving stuff around the house and looked down and there were multiple rips in the fabric. The material is soft, but doesn't trap heat very well. Its good to wear when it's about 55-60 degrees out. Any colder and it doesn't really provide much warmth. Can't believe how fragile this thing is. The north face is a brand known for rugged hiking but this thing wouldn't last an afternoon in the outdoors. A small branch would tear right through this thing like plastic.

Dislike the fit of the cuffs. Athletic fit is not flexible when moving arms if full range motin.

I have owned four of these jackets over the years, and they've always been my favorite everyday jacket. I went to the Northface store to buy a new one, an the XL doesn't fit anymore in the armholes and chest, but it did fit in the body. I could barely lift my arms in the revised style. When I tried the XXL, it fit great in the chest, but the body was to big and sloppy. Why did the NF designers ruin this classic? It's a JACKET, not a running shirt. Open up the armholes and make it relaxed again!!

I had to replace one because the stitching came undone on the outside, which is important for the aesthetic of the jacket. Replacement came and within a week a couple of the threads are coming undone again! Makes me nervous to be active in the coat.

The purchase was done online, the product was too lose, than I tried the store they didn't have the color I was looking for. When it arrived it wasn't the same fit as the one on the store. Disappointed.

I don't get it. I bought this a couple years ago when it first came out and I have been so unimpressed with it since. I can wear a thermal shirt and this jacket and still be cold in a windy 47 degrees. what good is that ??? its lighter but no better than a jacket costing 1/4th of what this cost. and when it gets cold this things is totally useless

Nice jacket but sizing didn't work out. Returned it almost 3 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for my credit. Had to call customer service twice. If you need to return and live next to a NF store best to bring it back there unless you want a charge on your credit card for 3+ weeks

Thermoball is just a fancy variant of Primaloft and it is worthless below 50F. The sizing is very frumpy. I am 6'2" 160 lb, athletic build and normally wear Medium shirts/jackets. I have to wear the Thermoball full zip in Small for a proper torso/arm fit, but Large for proper length. The problem with Medium and Large is that it is very frumpy around the torso. These are just made too short. The worst part is the insulation is so thin that I can't wear this by itself below 50 degrees. Even as a midlayer, it is too cold.
