Great for around town use. Do not use it in the mountains or brush up against anything remotely rough. It will tear the jacket and north face will make you pay to repair it.

North Face Thermoball jackets look great, but we stopped buying them. Things get sweaty and dirty after a while. If washed (as outdoor fans we perfected down-, neoprene-, and active shell washings with special detergents and cycle use) the filling clumps up between the stitching in little balls and cannot be fluffed up ever again. Like felt balls, stitched into tiny envelopes. A real problem.

I am no longer able to find a North Face Jacket that fits properly. I hate the new "slim fit" version. I wore an XL before and it fit perfectly everywhere. The XL in the slim fit is not comfortable, so I went up to a XXL and it is too big and the sleeves are way way way too long. It seem the company's are are always replacing perfect with something less perfect. I find that to be true with most brands.

This jacket does not breath at all. Feels like I'm inside a plastic garbage bag.

this is my second thermal ball I have ones the first one for 5 years plus which is a xl and fits great, I guess the new ones are snug fit, but then xxl is to big weird. other than the sizing amazing coats not bulky and keeps me warm. it last as well this is the only winter jacker I have owned for the last 5 years.

The cut of this jacket around the upper back and shoulders is a little snug. I'm 5'4" and have some lean athletic bulk, but by no means am I a daily recreational climber. Mediums usually fit me perfectly. For some reason, this jacket seems to be cut for a stringbean, much less an athlete. Even as a barebones base layer I still felt it pinching around my shoulders. I've been wearing and using TNF all my life and was so excited to have an eco-friendly fill that would keep me warm even when wet. I'm sad to have to return it.

I ordered this jacket online and really enjoy the fit of it. I have a similar jacket made by a company that rhymes with Caledonia. While that one does not fit as well the jacket is fully lined. The biggest annoyance is that the sleeves are not lined. Normally not an issue as on cold days you probably have a long sleeve shirt on. However, there have been a few times where I grab the jacket to run some trash outside or something like that and it feels odd to have the seam rub against my skin. Just something to keep in mind. I probably would not order it again.

Wear it as my regular jacket. This is the second one I've had since Christmas. The bottom rim keeps ripping and tearing open and I'm NOT doing anything but wearing it for regular daily activities. My original Thermoball lasted for years. These newer ones are cheap and poorly made! Obviously profit is more important than quality now.

Just got a replacement thermoball for my replacement thermoball. This is my second jacket replacement for this purchase. The original purchase was a momentum thermoball that couldn't be fixed due to a faulty zipper. Because the momentum line is no longer available I replaced that jacket w a thermoball jacket. The replacement jacket held up well for a season then the seams around chest started popping. I returned it and it was repaired. Once I got the jacket back upon inspection I immediately noticed the inside seam around the bottom drawstring was snapped and had it repaired again. It sat in the closet all summer, and I wore it only a couple days before the seam on the chest popped again. So here we go with jacket number 3. Hopefully the third time is the charm. It really is a wonderful jacket, I just wish it wasn't doing more traveling than I am.

This was to be my 4th Thermoball jacket and was excited to get a new one. The problem is that the jacket is now cut in the skinny fashion and is way too restrictive in the arms and the torso. Hopefully this is just a fashion cycle that will pass soon.

Had the coat less than 1 year (late Christmas gift in 2017) and the zipper pull on main zipper popped right off and was lost.

I love north face jackets and have been wearing their larges for years (6' 195lbs, lean and athletic). Bought a thermoball in large and it is huge in the body, I could fit a another person in there with me, I look like I'm a sack of potatoes. I went to a store to exchange for a medium but that fits like it's painted onto me. Did their sizing change? I understand I could sinch the waist but it still looks ill fitting. Bummed, it's a nice jacket otherwise. I fear north face is just a brand not cut for my body type anymore?

I have another Northface jacket that's a 2X and it fits and zips perfect. I love the material on this one but its too small to be able to zip it. Very disappointing.

Received this jacket as a gift. I was looking for a synthetic insulation layer and this seemed perfect. Unfortunately, there are major issues. First, I actually like that the wind can cut through the jacket. If I wanted windproof, I'd pop a shell over this jacket. Very breathable jacket. Dries quickly when wet. It comes in a ton of colors so it feels personal, even when I see this jacket everywhere. Now, the negatives. This jacket has the typical TNF boxy fit. This is cut for tourists (you know the ones) shopping in a mall. Far too much extra material in the stomach area. Additionally, there's something about this jacket that makes it look shabby. Something about the way the material stretches at the baffle stitching and pools at the bottom of each baffle, the jacket looks perpetually soggy. So, it doesn't make the cut as a functional piece in my gear rotation nor does it work as a fashion piece. The concept of this jacket and thermoball excites me. Maybe future updates to the jacket will solve my issues, or maybe I'm just an outlier and everybody else loves it (seems to be that everybody else loves it reading the reviews, but review systems on a first-party website with user provided feedback have their own issues with self-selection, biases, and such). So, high hopes for the future versions but definitely not feeling this jacket right now.
