This jacket is legitimately perfect for all sorts of adventures. I used it in Yosemite and it provided the best comfort. I used it in the Muir Woods and once again lots of comfort. Wore it around San Francisco and received lots of compliments. Wore the entire time I drove down the PCH with the top down and it was beyond comfortable. On chilly mornings I throw it on to do things around the house until it warms up. It's a super versatile & stylish jacket. I'm looking forward to using it in Alaska.

Jacket is very lightweight and very packable. The warmth to weight ratio is quite impressive, not quite as warm as down, but quite close.

I come from the Philippines were the weather is 30C average the whole year. Hence, traveling to a temperate country in winter is really a challenge as far as I am concerned. I wore tnf thermoball jacket for the first time in my travel to Japan last Jan 17-24, 2015 when the country was experiencing a 'cold spell,' temp averaging 3C for most part of the day. I used tnf thermoball jacket with a dry fit first later, a thin cashmere sweater as mid layer, and the thermoball jacket as outer layer. I have a high tolerance to cold because my body warms up fast, and even during the coldest weather, I do tend to sweat when I move a lot in the outdoors. My assessment of the jacket is great. I love it because it is breathable and allows a good deal of my body heat to escape which prevents me from overheating. For as long as I am moving, the jacket does its purpose of keeping me warm, even with a mild breeze at 0C. Its down side is when I stop moving and my body begins to cool down. That's when I will need an outershell to break the wind which brings the chill inside me. In general, the jacket is very good, but you will still need to know your tolerance to cold as each of us is unique. If you have a good tolerance to cold, and would need a breathable jacket to prevent overheating, I would definitely recommend this jacket.

I'm always moving about outside in OH's near blizzard weather. Someone suggested I try a North Face jact since I don't like feeln "bondled" It was the best decision and investment Ive made as far as protection from the outside elements. Its sleek, trendy, and I can dress it up or down. Most importantly it Completely protection from the outside elements here & I stay warm in it.. sold on North Face now!

I use this jacket to go skiing up in the mountains whenever I get the chance. I also just wear it around campus when it gets cold out. It is incredibly light and I was honestly surprised how warm it keeps me because of how thin it is. This is a great jacket and I would recommend it to everyone I know.

I wear this as a everyday jacket and it is all I really need for Idaho winters. I have two of these jackets one is TNF Black and the other one is Asphalt Grey / TNF Red there are both well built. But the picture of the Asphalt Grey / TNF Red jacket on The North Face website has it with the inside of the jacket as Asphalt Grey but it is actually TNF Red.

This product is all that it was advertised to be as an insulated jacket. In my opinion as a 6"2" male the side pocket zippers were better suited for a ladies blouse zipper on a delicate silk material. A better zipper for the pockets would have been the same size as the front zipper. M

This is probably the best jacket I've ever bought. It's very warm and lite and very comfortable. I get compliments on it all the time and I would highly recommend you buy it. It can also be an every day jacket and will keep you warm in those freezing temperatures.
