I've used this jacket as a four season piece all across Alberta for the last two years. I've taken it backcountry camping, climbing, canoeing, and skiing as well as used it as an outer layer around the city. Overall, this is an excellent piece. However, it should ONLY be used for what it's designed for! I cannot stress this enough! I've found that this jacket is not worth it for any activity other than ones where weight is at an absolute premium and where insulation is not needed during those activities. What I mean by this is that I now only bring the cerium along for hiking and climbing trips where the forecast is relatively dry and I plan to only pull it out of my pack during breaks or at camp. In these situations, nothing can beat its warmth to weight and packability. It's really perfect under my rain jacket in 95% of the conditions you will find in the Rockies during spring, summer, and fall. It will keep you very warm in your tent or while belaying. If you're looking for an ultralight insulator that's packs small used exclusively during breaks or at camp this is the perfect jacket. Personally, I would discourage anyone from buying this jacket for anything other than the above activities, simply because it would be a waist of your money and you wouldn't really be using the packing feature and you don't really need it to be ultralight. I definitely would not recommend this jacket as a midlayer for skiing, mostly because down naturally compresses easily under your shell while skiing which completely nullifies its insulating abilities. This leaves you significantly colder than you would hope. Also, during activities that require significant arm articulation like skiing, the down will shift in the tube baffles of the jacket which leaves very sizable cold spots along the arms and down the back. Finally, it does not breath well under a shell so you will find yourself getting sweaty on the way down and freezing on the way up the lift. If you plan on using this jacket mostly as an inner city piece or while skiing or casually enjoying the mountains, please do yourself a favour and don't buy it. It really isn't meant for that and you'll be dissatisfied with the amount of down clumping, lack of warmth, etc. mentioned above. This piece doesn't wear exceptionally well, so you will definitely notice significant down leakage the more you use it. Instead, get yourself an Atom AR. The Atom is just as warm while sitting down, and significantly more applicable to wet weather and high output activities like skiing where it will keep you way warmer and less sweaty than the Cerium due to its superior breathability. It's also around $100 less. I use my Atom for literally everything year round except when weight is a serious consideration, which is when I switch to the Cerium. The reason I wrote this review was to let people know that this really is not a do everything jacket, because I thought it would be more like that when I bought it. The Atom AR or LT would be a better choice than the Cerium 90%, but for that 10% of the time I mentioned above, you'll really want to have the Cerium in your pack. The reason I gave it four stars instead of five was mostly because of the down shifting/clumping problems. I find myself constantly pushing down to redistribute it around the baffles in the arms and back. I think this is mostly due to the tube style baffles.

Amazing jacket! So lightweight and extremely warm. This is my go to jacket when the weather goes below 0c. I can wear this with just a short sleeve shirt in 0 degree weather. Above 2-3c degrees it's too hot (at least for me). If I wear a light fleece under the jacket I will be warm to -5c. If I wear this under my stinger shell, it's good to -10c. and beyond. I love this jacket but I can't wear it as long as I want because it's just doesn't get that cold in Vancouver.

I really like the jacket and have had it for a year now. It's a great jacket all around. Though, I would go with the Thorium AR jacket next time if I could choose again. This is because it has a draw string by the hips. If you plan to always wear this jacket with a shell, then this does not matter. But me, I wear it on a daily basis in the winter without anything over and sometimes have a problem of wind getting in from the bottom. Another problem is the neck is quite low and loose so I always wear a scarf to make sure no cold air comes through. The zipper is not such a problem but sometimes I would have to fiddle with it since it is quite small. In term of the warmth, as soon as it gets to the 7 and below range (celsius), you need to have a sweater under it or a shell over. The only reason that I chose this over the thorium is because of the admiral color, which I think is beautiful.

I bought this jacket to act as a standalone and also as a layering piece in cold weather. I can say it is very warm. I run cold but the down really insulates well. I own the Atom SV and this is warmer. The outer material does a great job at blocking wind. Only drawback is that it is a lot of money for basic construction. Do love the deep front pockets. The fit is slim and hugs your body. I'm 5'9", 175 and medium fits slim but comfortable but little room to spare.

Great jacket as a stand alone piece or to go under a shell. It's very warm but still packs down small. I like having it without a hood to layer under my hardshell but I liked this jacket so much I had to get the one with a hood too. Size small is a little snug, I'm 5'4" and about 135 lbs.

This is my first Arcteryx and hopefully not my last. Purchased in December, I use it to go hiking north of the city jus about every weekend and for just walking around the city on a daily basis. Works like a charm. On hikes it's great since it's extremely light, I usually wear a mock next base layer under it and find that if I am constantly moving the jacket keeps me very warm. I have hiked in it at about -10C and found myself to be warm. Around the city it's also great but be careful, you get warm in it very quickly. Now the bummer, I snagged it on a nail or something just the other day and have a small tear in the elbow. Let's hope Arcteryx can fix it properly. I will wait and see what they say. Lasty, I wonder if there is anyway the cuff elastics can be a little tighter and the zippers a smidge more robust.

Overall I would recommend this jacket. Better made and the down doesn't seam to leak unlike a eddie bauer model I owned for a short time and returned. My only disappointment is to learn some models of arcteryx is now being made in China. As a proud Canadian and seeing good quality craftsmanship sent to cheaper labour countries, this disappoints me. I do my best to support things made in North America.

This is an outstanding jacket and on par with the name Arcteryx but for one point. They used Coil Zippers! A coil zipper is a very fine toothed zipper that looks like a series of coils and is installed with polyurethane thread. Actually, it is installed backwards from a normal zipper, meaning the teeth are on the inside of the jacket and the smooth base is on the outside. In the industry a much more secure and longer lasting zipper is a YKK Vislon zipper. Also, 95% of return warranty claims dealing with failing zippers are of the coil zipper design with hardly any Vislon zippers ever failing. Check it out for yourself on the internet. So I ask then..... why use a coil zipper for such a technical jacket? This could very well be this jackets Achilles Heal over time. I hope that next years design includes better and stronger zippers.

I am 5'2 and this jacket fits almost perfectly, whereas Black Diamond's women Cold Forge Jacket was too long in the arms. The Cerium LT is a bit snug around the chest area when zipped up all the way - but still completely worth buying. This jacket is very light, very warm, water resistant, and conveniently packs into itself for for easy storage. The outer fabric around the down seems fairly strong - my puppy has scratched it, trees have poked it, etc. - and seems to hold place and prevent rips well. The inner pocket (non down) fabric however is very thin and weak. A few weeks after I purchased this jacket I noticed a 3/4 inch rip/hole in the fabric. This troubled me because as far as I can remember, all I have carried in that pocket has been my phone, and my own fingernails. When I took a closer look, I noticed 3 or 4 more tiny needle-sized punctures. Despite that, love this jacket and wear it almost everyday for a huge range of activities. It's totally worth the price.

This jacket was exactly what I was looking for, but it was too large around the bottom hem, and with no drawstring, there was no way to cinch it in. Had to send it back. Bummed, because it fit perfectly otherwise.

The Cerium Lt Jacket is a great lightweight, warm and packable piece. I can take this jacket anywhere without worrying that it will take up room in my pack, and I can rely on it keeping me warm. Whether I am out for just a short walk or a long trek, the Cerium Lt does the trick. The jacket fits true to size and feels very light but the quality holds up to what I have thrown at it so far and knowing Arc'teryx, I am sure it will continue to preform.

I use this as my down piece for ice climbing. It fits over my base layer and under my soft-shell for those really cold days, or as a compact belay jacket when its not too wet. Highly recommend it, very high warmth to weight ratio. I toss it in the dryer on low with a tennis ball after a heavy or wet day of use and it poofs right back up making me look like a Michelin man.

This jacket fits fine and provide great warmth, but there is a but. It has a tendency to lose its down. One time enough came out to fill my palm. It's essentially at the seams, any seam, but sometimes feathers pierced right through the fabric. I'm not at ease wearing a jacket that's losing its insulation as I wear it.

Lightweight yet warm and wind-resistant, the colourful jacket was great for my cardiac rehab walks, up to the point I could start running again. My only criticism of the jacket is that when I perspired, the sweat seems to have darkened the wonderful orange of the jacket, in the crooks of the elbows and under the arms. Still, it's my favourite.

Very warm, very light and very compact, BUT I was excited most about the CUT of the jacket and that was a let down. Was keen for the slim cut, but the XL is very baggy and does not fit as hoped. I am 6'4" and 185 lbs with an athletic build and need the XL for shoulders and arm length, but there is a good 5-6 inches of extra material around the mid section. Not sure who the per portions would fit? Going to re order a Large, but pretty sure the sleeve length will be to short. May keep the XL, but will have to have it altered to make it usable as a mid layer.

I've had this jacket for 4 years and it's been superb in almost every way. However; the main zipper is terrible. It failed after 2 years and again just recently. Replaced first time by Arc'teryx and now left facing further cost. Not acceptable for such an expensive coat.

Its an extremely light and warm jacket, let there be no doubt. But, the sizing here is completely different from the other sizings in this brand...I dont know why this isnt mentioned more often in the reviews. I also have an Atom LT hoody jacket. Size XL, and this fits extremely well, and the rubber band on cuffs sits really well on me. Im 6.2 and 95 kg's. Here is the downside on the cerium LT: I bought XL...The cuffs are really loose. And the jacket is huge on me. If youre 6.2 and around 130kg, this will fit you. Dont do the same mistake as me. If you normally use XL, buy L on this jacket.

The jacket has several good points. The fit is very good and looks great. It is easy to pack down into the attached bag. It is a decent stand alone jacket for temperatures above 45 F and 20 mph winds or less. However like many previous reviews, the jacket loses feathers. I have had the jacket for the past 3 months and have used it almost daily. Every time I put it on, new feathers stick out of the fabric and the stitching. The jacket appears to be molting. Your clothes are covered in feathers as well as any furniture. The jacket is not breathable. Walking with the jacket zipper up and the temperature around 55 F, I was soaked. I have been an Arcteryx fan for many years and owned several jackets (fleece, soft shell, hard shell and rain gear). However this jacket is a huge disappointment.

I was really looking forward to receiving this jacket. I am a huge fan of Arc'Teryx. Love their styling and colors, and their service is, for the most part, pretty great. I consistently wear the same size (SM) in all their clothing, so I was surprised with the fit of this jacket. Most of their jackets are flattering to the female figure, however this one was not. Way too roomy in the waist. I considered trying an X-SM, but the chest would have been too tight. Sadly, I'll have to send this back. Will wait to see if there are any new additions next season.

This jacket is okay, but in my opinion, not worth the premium price that Arc'teryx charges. I have numerous Arc'teryx and North Face items. This jacket is definitely warmer than my North Face thermoball jacket. So, the quality of the 850 down and Coreloft insulation is good and works. Cuffs and hem cord are good features. My main disappointment with this jacket from Arc'teryx is the zipper. It is awful. It is very small, and there is no storm flap for the zipper. It feels very cheap. The pull is so small it is hard to grasp. The zipper itself feels like it could fail, and mine sticks slightly at the bottom when trying to unzip the jacket. A real disappointment. When you pay the absolute top of the line price that comes with Arc'teryx products, you should get top of the line quality and features. Not the case with this jacket. The North Face thermoball jacket zipper is much more substantial and has a quality storm flap. The jacket runs a little small. I can usually wear a medium, at 5'10", 165lbs. A large fits me perfect in this jacket. This jacket does not meet the quality you would expect from Arc'teryx because of the crummy zipper, which is a primary feature in a jacket.
