This is now my go to hardshell, having upgraded from a Berghaus outer layer. I have found it to be a reliable, lightweight waterproof, that stows away into a tight space. The small details are what make this jacket excel, big external pockets for OS maps etc, and an internal pocket for valuables. Solid zips that so far seem to be waterproof and windproof. Solid construction of the Gore-Tex exterior, which if a little noisy, seems to take the rough scrapes of rock in its stride.

This has become one of my go-to jackets, biking, walking, and hiking. Keeps me warm and dry in colder temperatures than I anticipated. However being a person who runs quite hot, I would have liked some pit zips. As someone with a very muscular build, 5'8 and 205 pounds, I had to opt for the large size as the medium was too tight. The large fits quite well, but do note that the sizing is not consistent across all jackets. I have a Beta SV as well and it is a medium. I suppose because the SV line is built to accommodate more layers. In any event you can't go wrong with this jacket.

J'utilise cette veste pour mes sortie en montagne en randonne et en trekking comme veste de pluie et coupe vent. Sa bonne respirabilit et rsistance l'humidit en font une veste idale avoir toujours au fond du sac pour les intempries.

Love this jacket! Blocks wind and water effectively, and is versatile enough to wear over a mid-layer for warmth or by itself as a rain jacket. Did tend to fit me a bit small.

This is a great versatile jacket, I have used it as a outer shell while Heliskiing in Alaska as well as rain coat in Peru. It's good looking and fits well. It's true to size, if you want to layer for skiing go size up.

I've had this jacket for 6 years and it performs just as well now as it did when I first purchased it. It's been through ice, snow, torrential downpour and has lots of life left.

This is a great jacket for hiking it's lightweight, breathable, packable, stylish and most importantly kept me dry in torrential rain in the deep forests. I absolutely love it!

Extremely lightweight in an all Gore Pro package. In fact several grams lighter than it's all PacLite little brother. The breathability is so enhanced from previous construction that pit zips really are not necessary and make the jacket far more comfortable under arm. And I'm a sweaty &@$#@%*. However, some people may miss the feature. Face fabric and backer materials are durable, yet more quiet and softer than older models. Absolute go to piece in my arsenal.

I own both the Beta AR and the LT. If I could custom order the perfect jacket from Arcteryx, it would be the mash-up of the LT hood (no collar) with the AR pit-zips. Arcteryx - can you add the pit-zips to the LT? Opening the pockets while packing it in, up, or out is not as functional as dropping the pit-zips and immediately alleviating the heat buildup. Outside of that, what more can you ask for? I've had a pair of Theta bibs for over 10 years and they are still BOMBER.

This is my first feedback related to BETA LT (3 weeks after purchase). In this sense please consider this as a brief note which I hope helps those who are wondering if this jacket is worth the money. The short answer is: yes! I have realised that this jacket is always with me, gives you a good feeling. Extremely lightweight. The quality of this gorotex pro is simply amazing. Feel luxury. 1. Size issue, I have read all reviews, spent ...hours, blogs, comments, articles, all, ...at the end I have ordered the size S. Fits greatly, I am 1:70cm, 69Kg, chest 99, hip 95, sleeve 86cm. The length perfect. Ex: If you're in btw to sizes, would not recommend to size up, this jacket should fit very close to your body in order to generate all expected benefits; I normally wear a base layer 260 merino lightweight underneath, enough to generate a very "soft" warm temperature inside (even when I am operating around zero C). The Beta LT will do the rest (versatility+regulation). 2. Details: the upper-side of the jacket is made up for a larger big shoulders (athletic bodies) i.e. always comfortable sport activities - no restrictions, V concept. 3. Sleeves: velcro extremely well made, to fit closely around your wrist. Wind-proof tested. 4. Hood: five stars. Amazing. It is simply perfect, all conditions. I have tried several products, there is anything in the market like that. Best one, top for sport activities. 5. Breathability: just amazing. Ex: variation -delta 10C/mix rain/sun, this jacket has proven to be extremely performant, reacting very quickly to change of temp and weather conditions. Amazing. 6. Pockets: (area of improvement) lack of bicep pocket in the arm (as the SV), personally don't like the two big hands pockets (front) which are going to create a sort of airbag when filled (in this sense the design of the FL is much better, at least my opinion). The internal pocket is fine, would suggest to increase the size few mm. 7. Packability: great. 8. Gore-tex Pro: wow, luxury, soft, very comfortable around your body. 9. Waterproof: 5 starts. 10. Windproof: 5 starts. 11. Zippers: perfectly laminated. 5 starts! 12. Durability: not yet tested. For the winter time?, will buy the the SV regular S/black.

Ski'd in this coat in january for a week and march for a week keeps you just right, minus 15 on Hintertux glassier and blowing a gale.... no problem used a thin fleece as mid layer , hood fits over helmet and covers sides of your face if need, be lots of adjustment, draw string on hem keeps it tight. Using this almost everyday walking the dog, in pouring rain not a problem wish i'd found this earlier...

Hands down the best shell I've ever owned. I work on golf courses and have ripped some big name shells on simple tasks, the Beta lt has held up on every level. You can find good waterproof shells these days but not with durability. I made it through the whole season without a rip and stayed dry in the process. Definitely worth the money if you work or play outside daily. It's going to be so much sweeter when I move Colorado in two weeks!

Definitely setting the bar high with this jacket. Can't think of anything wrong with it as it's perfect for the wind/rain/snow, and can be worn in warmer weather or cold (with layers). Great design, and can take a beating in the rain while staying dry. I listed price as a con because it's out of the average persons budget for a shell jacket. With that said, you absolutely get what you pay for, and if you're on the edge of purchasing a premium jacket, you won't be disappointed by this one.

I purchased this jacket as my primary weather shell for hiking as well as my primary shell to keep me dry during the monsoon season on the West Coast. Initial assessment is WOW! I'm really impressed with how breathable the GORETEX Pro is when layered and carrying a pack. I've found that the jacket is able to vent my body heat well and I burn hot. I noticed that I was 50% less sweaty wearing this jacket then my last shell (non Arcteryx). I've also worn this jacket fishing on an open boat during a downpour and stayed dry! One downside is that I've found the DWR wore off on the jacket quickly; however, I followed the directions and instructional video by Arcteryx to reapply with great results. For sizing, I'm 5'8, 170lbs, fit and the large fits perfect with layers (down jacket Cerium fits well underneath). Also the sleeves were a good length as well. In conclusion, I recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a waterproof shell to keep them dry!

I bought the revised Beta LT earlier this summer, and I can confidently say that I'd recommend it to anyone who has the cash to shell out for such an expensive jacket. That being said, it certainly shows its price in its construction. I didn't find one thing out of place, and everything was put together for minimal weight and maximum durability. I have no doubt it can stand up to years of wear and tear. For fit, it fits true to size for a jacket that I'd use to layer. I'd previously tried the Beta AR, but I noticed that it is cut way too short at the waist, often leaving me feeling like my midsection was showing. That's not the case with the LT. It feels like a somewhat athletic fit, not something you could layer for an expedition underneath, but certainly enough for harsh winter conditions. Overall, the jacket is expensive but certainly worth the price. It packs down well, keeps the weather out, and seems like it will last forever.
