Too short, would like to change for next size up

Sole is very hard. I am used to Brooks Ghost 6 that is great in every way. They are just too short so I am looking for a replacement. This is close, but very hard sole. Top of shoe is pretty stiff too.

I have never owned Brooks before (my current pair of sneakers is Asics...along with some SOLE orthotics in them, but I've had them a few years, and my feet are starting to hurt more so I wanted something new). I ordered the Revel and also the Brooks Ghost 10. In both shoes, I had to order 1/2 size up from the size I am wearing in the Asics (I am normally an 8 but needed an 8.5 in these). The shoes are very lightweight and super comfortable on my left foot, but my right foot gives me more trouble. It turns out ever so slightly which means a wider toe box is more comfortable for me. These were passable in that regard, but the Ghost 10 were roomier in the toe box and therefore that much more comfortable, so I'm keeping those and sending these back. They'd be perfect if not for my particular issue. I like the color scheme (Grey/Rose Gold) and look of the shoe overall as well.

I have been a Brooks fan for about 8 years now, as they do a good job of handling my inserts and they were recommended by my podiatrist. I have have had many different styles and series of Brooks -- finally settling on the Ghost series, after Brooks discontinued the "Trance" years ago. I chose this new Revel based solely on aesthetics for a city-walking shoe. It fit the bill, though not as tough and stable as the Ghost GTX series. But, in black, this shoe looks great! It fit my orthotics well and is lightweight for packing when space and weight matters. I tried to use this shoe for a cross-training day, and I my foot slid in it when doing side-walking squats -- I did not have the tough support that I got from the Ghost or Adrenaline series. But, they are cute -- in a "Brooks" sort of way, and I use them for errand running and doing long walks (not running or treadmill) when I am on vacay. But, only in warm weather!

Good shoe. I tend to have a slightly narrow foot and these were just a tad too wide around the forefoot and toe box area for me. They do have a completely mesh top (even that darker area) so I'm not sure how they would hold up in the long run. Nice low profile design though and not clunky feeling like some running shoes tend to be.

I like Brooks shoes and liked the look of this one too. I found the toe box to be a little too roomy for my semi narrow foot. I just don't find them as comfortable as my Asics. It may work for you though since we're all different.

I loved these shoes-comfortable and good looking! But I was concerned about the big toe area being mesh and easily making a hole from where it rubs while walking. Unfortunately I can not keep.

I wanted to like these and I was going to wear them for my job. They are subtle colors (grey/green and grey/mauve) and I loved that the sole is not white which lends to it looking not so athletic. However, the fit was a bit sloppy and there was not enough support or cushion even with my orthotics in them. I wear Glycerines right now for work and they are great but they really look like running shoes (which they are, so no fault there) so I wanted to try these. Unfortunately they did not work for me. Thanks Zappos for helping me find the right shoes.

The pink-ish and VERY clunky heel on this shoe instantly made it a "no". The shoe fit well, but the flimsy collar material would probably wear out quickly, and the laces are truly homely. This shoe had good possibilities for me, but didn't pass the style or quality test ;(

Fit and size good, not a lot of cushion. My shins hurt after wearing them, am returning them.

Great shoe, but too bulky around the ankles, hurt my ankles.

I was able to put my inserts and still fit well with bunion and hammer toes on one foot.

Felt stiff compared to the Adrenaline and Ghost I have worn. Toe box is too short. Wanted to try something different but will go back to the Adrenaline now that the reviews have improved over the last incarnation.

Oh, how I wised I loved this she. I was looking for a grey pair more as a runaround shoe than a shoe for running. Good price and it has great potential since there is plenty of toe room and the arch support is decent especially for someone like me who has high arches. However, it felt fine but I noticed that I had to tie the shoe laces real tight to have a secure feel. It isn't about sizing, and it is strange to try to describe it. It just feel like the shoe is loose unless I really tied those laces tightly. It made the top of my foot hurt being tied so tight. Will have to return.

TALL RIGID HEEL COUNTER DIGS INTO ACHILLIES TENDON I work out at a gym three times per week and switch off between my shoes. I have worn top of the line Brooks Glycerine for years, buying a couple of pairs each year to my selection. I've never had a problem until the Glycerine 15 was released which fits totally different and super small (see negative comments on shoe by diehard wearers.) Anyway, I wanted a basic black/gray shoe which is the look now for at the gym or out and about. Yes, its true the fabric on this shoe definitely frays within the first few months! Ive never had this happen. And an awful problem is the ridiculously stiff heel counter inside the heel collar is super rigid and comes to a point above the center back of your heel. It rubs and digs into your achilles tendon causing pain/achilles tendonitis. This happens when you are bending your ankle backwards like when you are doing lunges, sit-ups, and cardio; almost every movement with your feet and ankles. Very disappointed I guess thats the difference between a $150 shoe and $100 shoe.

Liked sneakers and felt comfortable out of the box. Support felt fine on my flat feet. Noticed my feet need more support due to my left ankle hurting and needed an athletic shoe to walk my daughter to and from preschool (one mile each way). My ankle has improved and feels better. Like a previous reviewer, I had these sneakers about a month and the fabric on the inner part of both sneakers started to wear out. I decided to call Zappos a month after the fact and stated that this shouldn't happen to $100 sneakers in one month. However Zappos's customer service is amazing and they sent me another pair for free. I'm not sure if this experience (sneaker ripping) is indicative of all of Brooks sneakers, but I will not be buying this brand again. Again the support was fine, but the fabric material wore out easily on the inner part of both sneakers. However, I will buy my next pair from Zappos!

I loved the look of these shoes. I bought a pair of Brooks Pure Flow 6 a few months ago and thought I would try a different style. Unfortunately, These sneakers felt a bit longer than the Pure Flow. I wanted to keep them, they were conservative just black and white, and I liked the knit look material on the top. I worn them for 5 minutes and knew I had to return and order Pure Flow 6 ! Thanks for the easy return policy Zappos.

Was very disappointed in the quality. Purchased them in April and the fabric started to tear around the ankle in June. Thankfully, Zappos refunded me my full payment and I was able to order new shoes and send the defective shoes back.

I love Brooks, but this shoe missed the mark for me. I was looking for something more low profile than the Ghost 10 I currently wear, and while the Revel is that, it stopped there. The arch was uncomfortable and the upper was too high and rubbed. Luckily Zappos has the best return policy and customer service, so I’ll send these back and keep looking!

I’ve had so many great pairs of Brooks, but the jury is still out on these. I first tried the size 12, in which there was at least half an inch extra space in front of my toes, so I went for the 11. They feel so tight, especially around the forefoot area, and the footbed seems unusually hard, which I didn’t notice in the 12s. On the plus side, the style and colors are so cute. These are probably going back.

My feet measure between a regular and a wide width, so I tried these, based on the reviews that stated they run wide. Typically Bs are a little too narrow and Ds are a little too wide, so I usually err on the side of too wide. These don't run much wider than a typical regular width. They are too narrow for me, though a little more comfortable in the width than most B-width shoes. Also, I found them too hard with my orthotics in them. It seems most of the cushion is in the insole, and that's just useless for me. I did notice that there is a lot of arch support for a neutral shoe, probably because the midsole is so hard. I guess that means these have a lot of support, but not in a good way. My ankles actually felt jammed from wearing them around the living room for an hour and doing 20 minutes on the elliptical. I'm used to the Ghosts, and I will be ordering those as soon as the D width comes back in stock. Sending these back.

This shoe was very comfortable. However, after 5 times of wear, the material stretched to well over a full shoe size. The laces stretch also - having to triple knot just to not trip. Brooks never responded to my defective shoe email they instructed me to fill out.

I so loved these shoes for the month that I had them. They were comfortable and stylish enough for a sneaker. I liked the knit upper which conformed to my foot and the lacing system which allowed me to customize it. Unfortunately, the fabric collar around the opening of the shoe started disintegrating after I had only worn them for a little while. I've never had a shoe do this before. Thankfully Zappos took care of it and I was able to order another shoe that is similar and seems to be holding up better.
