Although these shoes are a D width, they are too tight across my toe box.

While I love the look of the shoe (navy/pink), the shoe was completely too tight. I wore them in the house for less than an hour and just couldn't stand it any longer. I advise ordering at least a half-size larger than normal. I ordered the wide, which is normally just right (New Balance, Sketchers), but WW might have still been too tight.

These are supposed to be stability shoes but they felt like they wouldn't support my inner foot. I got sick of buying & returning Asics due to inconsistent sizing (Kayano 23 9.5W fits fine, Kayano 24 9.5W is way too big, this model size 9W is way too small.) I wear size 9W in most other brands. The sizing issue with Asics forced me to switch brands. Sorry, Asics.

I have this exact pair (GT-1000) from a couple years ago. I ordered a new pair as my old ones are wearing out after 3-4x/week HIIT workouts. They are great shoes! However, though I got the exact same size (W9, normal width) these are smaller. I thought maybe I just needed to break them in, so I wore them around my house on carpet, just standing folding laundry, going about chores, but within the hour my feet were practically numb. I am returning hoping a half size up will help. Or maybe I need to go wider, I can't really tell. Off to exchange and find a solution. I recommend going a half size up on this new generation of Asics GT-1000's.

Nicely made, and lightweight, but they run narrow, and a size small. Order up!

beautiful color, but it runs short and narrow

Like the fit and comfort but in daylight the color is not black. It is navy blue and I didn't realize it until I had worn them a few times.

These are great shoes...but only if you have tiny narrow feet. I ordered the wide and the sides of my feet were spilling over the shoe when I walked. I don't have terribly wide feet either! I have a small bone deformity that requires a wider shoe, but I would definitely not qualify these as a "wide" style. Other than that, they do appear to be a well made shoe...they are flexible in the toe, yet stiff in the midsole where they should be a bit more stiff. Unfortunately they didn't work for me, but if you have no foot problems and an average sized foot I'd say it's a great shoe.

I didn’t want to believe other reviews about how ASICS have changed. I’ve owned many pairs of GT1000 & GT2000. These are tight! Also they are all fabric across the toe, no more protective vinyl. Hard to tell this in pictures which makes them less durable in my opinion. ASICS...why mess with a good thing?!

didn't seem very supportive

I love the look of these, but the toe box is just low and grabby. I originally ordered in 9 1/2, my regular size, and it was too irritating, so I ordered a 10, but both are going back.

Ordered 1/2 a size larger and still way too tight and small. Ordered a 7 Wide. Usual size is a 6.5 wide.

Was shopping around for new Asics since they discontinued my old pair. These are much narrower through the toe box, even with getting one size up and wide width. Had to return them. Ended up with the gel-venture 6.

I ordered this shoe and the Gel Foundation 13, both in a 9B. Very different fit when comparing them--the GT 1000 had a smaller toe box, and it rubbed against the top of my toes. For me, the Foundation was much more comfortable, but I must admit, they look rather boring.

I’ve had these shoes twice before and had to go up a 1/2 size both times so when I bought them again I figured same size I would be good to go. Threw them on and they were fairly tight. I figured new shoes, ok I need to break them in. No, these are definitely too small. I normally wear a 10, ordered these in a 10.5, which is what I have been wearing for a year now, and definitely need an 11.

I’ve owned many versions of this running shoe over the years and while I hadn’t had a new pair in a few years, I thought I’d try a new pair of them. I ordered my usual size 9-1/2 and decided to get wide as they were available and my forefoot is quite wide although I’d been fine in regular in this shoe in the past. They must have changed this shoe since my last pair. These things are horrible. They are SO tight on my toes, to the point my foot falls asleep. The laces are really short to the point that I can’t loosen the shoe anymore to give myself room. The heel is monstrously huge — does wide to ASICS mean wide in the heel only? I don’t know whose feet these are made for, but they’re not for mine anymore. I measured the shoe next to a 4-year-old pair and there was little to compare. The old regular width ones are even wider!!

Very bulky shoes. Moderate arch support and Nice cushioning but the back of the shoe comes up very high and rubs my Achilles’ tendon with each step. They also feel slightly large so the rubbing is exacerbated by this. I could not stand the feeling of the back of the shoe coming up so high for the 5 minutes I tried them on. Returned.

I have been an avid GT 1000 shoe wearer for 10+ years. The new GT 1000 6 is narrow and not a comfortable fit so I decided to try another variety of Asics thus the Gel Venture 6 and Gel Contend 4 were me next selections. The Gel Contend 4 felt very similar to the "old GT 1000" so I decided to keep the Contend 4 and sent back the GT 1000 6. The shoe itself was sturdy with arch support but extremely small and narrow based on my previous GT 1000 shoes I have worn. I ordered 8.5 medium, 8.5 wide, 9 wide in the GT 1000 and all 3 felt small and narrow. Sadly I can no longer were GT 1000 6 unless they make a change to revert back to a previous design.
