These are very sharp looking shoes, but the men's 6.5 EE (sz 8 in women's) made my feet look huge (I'm a 56 year-old woman, and I have trouble finding good women's shoes that are wide enough). The upside of all that room in the front is that my orthotics fit very well, and there is plenty of room for my bunions, so when I first put them on, they felt really good. They are very well-constructed, and have very good support. A PLUS is that they have built-in rubber padding on the inside bottom of the ball-of-foot area. They seemed a bit stiff, but would probably break in fine with time. I returned because I could not justify the price for shoes I did not absolutely love, even though they seem to be very well-made and will probably last a long time.

SAS makes a quality shoe & a plus they are made in the USA. I wore SAS Time out shoes for many years while working. I was thrilled to find they make a walking shoe. I have a number of problems with my feet including hammer toes. These shoes are very supportive and allow me to walk with much more comfort. Thank you SAS for your quality shoes and for Zappo for your fast shipping and excellent customer service.

I have 4 pair of these shoes (and a 5th pair in black for dress wear) -- because they are the most comfortable shoes that I have ever owned. A 56 year old college professor and a 30 year insulin dependent diabetic, my long-term health depends on my ability to stay active through daily exercise -- including walking. These shoes fit like a glove (I wear a size 12 wide) and I feel like I am walking on pillows. I have been wearing nothing but SAS shoes for the last decade and have none of the foot issues that long-term diabetics typically experience. Thanks SAS!

This is my 3rd pair of these incredible shoes. I walk 20,000 steps every day. This is only possible and sustainable with an amazingly well designed, comfortable and reliable shoe. I look forward to wearing out my next pair at 8 million steps!

Finally a shoe that actually has room in the toe box. It's a shame they're so pricey, but if they hold up I guess they're worth it. Only have a couple miles on them so far and they feel okay.

While the back was slightly lower than the black all leather Journey, it otherwise was excellent. The support it gives is excellent. SAS is the most comfortable sneaker, the best wide width sneaker, and I'm hard to fit.
I'd also recommend:
None. SAS is the best sneaker for true to size and comfort.

Well constructed, good weight, insole less than expected, switched out. Wish there were more options, wider sizes and/or extra depth.

I have been wearing SAS shoes for more than 30 years, and have always been thoroughly satisfied with the quality, fit, and comfort. However, my last purchase was this Journey Mesh (my third pair!) and there is a problem with the construction. I contacted SAS several times asking for a replacement for the shoes I wear every day, even sending several photos of the problem. The stitching around one tongue had started to ravel, and now the whole tongue is riding to one side like it has come loose at the base. Their response was "our quality manager and he indicated there is no issue or defect" NO way would they offer to remedy the problem, saying that if I returned the shoes they would have their guys have them physically inspected for defects! No more SAS for me! What a way to run (ruin) a company! I have traveled to their stores in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Savannah, Georgia to get fitted and buy the right shoes, and I have ordered on-line also. But I feed up with SAS. Their quality must not be as good as before if their quality manager does not see a problem, and they obviously do not value maintaining a long-time customer

Wore these for four weeks, two or three times a week, and they developed a hole in the left shoe. Three months in there are now holes in both. Customer service blamed me for getting the wrong size - I have worn the same size for over twenty years, but still get resized routinely at SAS-certified stores and outlets. Although most SAS products are excellent quality, this experience has made me reconsider ever buying from them again.

The toe box is round and very big, like a winter boot. Not good for narrow feet.

I'm a photojournalist, portrait & event photographer. I need black athletic shoes that offer support, comfort and width for my wide feet. I've worn these shoes almost every day for work, at the gym and running errands for a full year. I'm only considering buying a new pair to have on hand for dressier events. Very pleased! P.S. I did replace the shoes laces, the ones that came with the shoes would not stay tied unless knotted.

Unfortunately I cannot wear these due to the design of the sole. The hard area in the center of the shoe pushes up into my arch with the toe and heel having cushioning. The shoes are in perfect condition but not for me.

I need a Narrow width in a shoe and Narrow width is hard to find in shoe manufacturers, so I stick with SAS. Been wearing the Journey Mesh Lace Up Sneakers over the years and have the shoes in pale grey, blue denim, and just received it in solid black. Good quality and wears like iron. Dependable shoe and manufacturer.

I have been searching for the perfect walking shoe for a trip to Europe and also just everyday errands and walks. Some were too rigid, some too loose, some rubbed my toes, and then I found SAS. This shoe fit as expected in the Wide (C) width. My foot is narrow at the heel and somewhat wide, but not real wide. Also, my orthotic fit perfectly in the shoe (I have a high arch). Also, I wanted an athletic style shoe that was not garish or colorful. The soft grey color is just great!

Casual and when I need decent well fitting sneakers, SAS do me an outstanding pleasure of comfort every time. I wish I could afford (I have 5 pair now) more. I am fortunate to have your shoes SAS. No other brand comes close to your shoes. Thank you all at SAS Henry

I have been wearing these shoes for a period of several months now and have found them to be extremely comfortable. Overall, they are excellent footwear. I live in an urban area and frequently use the sidewalks as well as the trails surrounding my residence. Their support and comfort are exceptional. I highly recommend these shoes.

I have worn running shoes for many years for walking, bike riding and general comfort. I would purchase a couple of pair at a time in an effort to get more life out of them by rotating them, but they still lasted only a number of months. I then tried a pair of SAS Journey. I do not have an SAS store near me, so I purchased an 11 double wide online and hoped for the best. Turned out the size 11 was a bit large. I ordered a 10 1/2 double wide and they fit great. I decided to just wear the size 11 pair to knock around in and wear them out. That was a couple of years ago. I cannot wear these things out. They still look ok and feel good, and they have seen a lot of use (and abuse). I keep the size 10 1/2 clean and use them to wear when I want to look respectable. I have not purchased another pair of imported (but not cheap) shoes in a long time. I will pick up another pair of SAS Journey in the near future. I like these shoes a lot; comfortable and very durable. Not really that expensive when you consider how much longer they will last than other running shoes.
