Very comfortable with no break in required. Feet feel better than they have in years wearing these shoes. With Diabetes, one foot swells all the time. So I bought WIDE width, which was perfect. Shoes are otherwise true to size. Pricey, but worth every penny.

I have had these shoes for about 10 years and the heels are starting to wear. I purchased these because of the non slip soles, I have several pairs of SAS and these are the most comfortable wish there were other colors.

This shoe can be worn to work, formal occasions, and recreational activities. The sole is remarkably slip-resistant and this is the ONLY shoe SAS makes that is water-resistant. That matters. I live in Southern California, a relatively dry climate year-round. But if you walk by a lawn sprinkler with regular SAS lace-ups on, your feet get wet. Rain is even worse. Not so with Guardians! They aren't for fording mountain streams but they will keep your feet dry.

I have been wearing these shoes for the past eight years and I can't imagine wearing anything else through out my work week. I used to get a pinching sensation in my back from being on my feet all day but ever since I stumbled across the SAS store Memphis Tn(now closed) and purchased these shoes I don't have any back, foot or leg pain even after an 18 hour shift I am right as rain! If you are a professional you need these shoes!

I have worked in retail grocery for over 20 years. I tried another brand once and my feet and low back were killing me. I went back to SAS after a week. If you are on your feet all day this is by far the best shoe.

The quality of this shoe, the fit, the comfort, the styling are all beyond what one could expect from a shoe costing ten times the price of this shoe. I will always buy SAS shoes and only SAS shes.

One of the best shoes I have ever put on my feet I need a knee replacement before I got these shoes the pain was incredible I am on my feet 10 hours a day after wearing these shoes pain in my knee is almost gone. I went and got second pair and trust me I don't make a lot of money that I could afford it but it is so worth it I will only buy from this company from now on. Made in America says it all you know you are getting only the best craftsmanship

I work 40-50 hour weeks as a meat cutter. VERY happy with these shoes. Combined with compression socks, I can do 9 hour shifts with no pain. These are not handsome shoes, however, and far from fashionable ;-). But I love them, the non-slip is the king. BUY THESE you will not regret spending the money for a quality shoe.

I purchased the Guardians for two reasons. They're made by SAS which I already own several pair and I knew they would be comfortable and they remind me of the shoes I used to wear when I was a kid in grade school. I really do like the slip resistant sole and water resistant upper. Great for wearing in the rain and when you go indoors they just wipe dry with a towel. I've never worn any other brand of shoes that feel as great as SAS and I will continue to purchase SAS shoes every time I feel the need for a new pair of shoes.

I work up to 12 hours standing, adding that I have a problem standing flat, ended the day with a strong foot pain, I tried many types of shoes and tennis some better than others but since they recommended me these and treated them not I leave for nothing. yes sun expensive but it's worth it

Great product. Lasted over 5 years of 40-60 hour weeks before the uppers separated from the sole. Comfortable shoe for its entire useful life.

This is my 5th or 6th pair of SAS shoes and they are my go to footwear. My only complaint is that when they get worn the company doesnt refurbish them...I have three pairs of somewhat stretched shoes that I really can't wear anymore. Aside from that its all good!

After looking and buying far to many shoes, I discovered SAS and decided to buy them. I work long hours on concrete floors and recently have had problems with my feet. I went and tried these on in a store, but they didn't have ny size. I could tell they were what I had been looking for. I ordered them and can honestly say they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn at work! After 25 years I finally can come home from work with happy feet!

I work as a registered nurse and tried other shoes for work. I bought the SAS guardian on a whim, that was 6 years ago, and I'm only on my second pair. I cannot believe how comfortable, and durable these shoes are. I have literally walked thousands of miles in my SAS shoes, and wouldn't dream of wearing anything else to work. Are they beautiful? I'd say no, but then again neither is what I'm standing in at work, while wearing them. Any nurse knows the popular brands of shoes we see in health care, but ask yours self this, ever see those folks slip in all the water and fluids we walk through? I have. With the tread pattern on the guardian the idea of slipping in water never even occurs to me. To any healthcare workers, or anyone who knows someone in healthcare, do yourself a favor and get a pair of these guardians. Trust me, you'll be glad you did. Thank you for your time. Alex.

I work on concete for 9 hours 5 days a week and these are the best shoes for comfort, durability and safety (water & oil). I have planters fasciitis and these shoes stop the pain. For optimum support, I recommend replacing them after a year of constant use on concrete floors 40 hr/52 wks. I wash Package Cars for UPS on smooth concete and have never slipped from walking in soap & oil water from the cars.

These shoes are nice looking and comfortable. The provided foam insoles are the best I've ever encountered, practically able to replace my expensive custom orthotics. However, the tight hexagonal grid design of the sole collects many bits of debris from outdoors, which it can then deposit in the house. The soles are also difficult to clean, with little bits of yard debris stuck in grid that need to be dug out.
