got these for my elderly mom. she likes them because she can lace them up tight or lose. She had a history of a broken ankle in the past and this little boot gives her good support.

Probably fine for someone with normal feet. Didn’t work for mine since I am not a “true” medium. I am a gal who had narrow feet but developed bunions forcing me to buy “mediums." Consequently, these boots fit fine around the bunion area but are way too big in the back half of the foot, for me. My feet move around in them in a way which is very uncomfortable, even with thick sox, orthotics, etc. Rats! They only have a little arch support… you may need to add your own.

Fit well, seem well made, unfortunately have to return because the top of the boot rubs against my ankle in an uncomfortable way. Would probably be fine for someone planning to wear thick socks. Also squeaks on polished concrete floors. I like the removable insoles.

They were too short.

Good laced ankle boots. MADE IN USA! Comfortable sole for some cool-weather walking. They're somewhere between hiking-boot look and stylish, about what you would expect from a comfortable low-heel ankle boot. Now that I've had them two years, and still walking in them, I can say that they are still holding up. The sole is not worn. I would replace the insole after it compresses or wears out, but have not done so with this pair yet. I will say that for someone with a high arch and a foot that needs some cushioning, they are usually the choice among the boots I have for city walking, but my feet will ache a little when I walk the mile for some errands and the mile back. I use shoe polish and wax, and a shoehorn, and they still look good. I had a shoe repair shop remove the heel tabs that always caught on my jeans. A hazard of heel tabs. These are not pull-ons, so didn't need the tabs. I like wide shoes even though I can wear medium width. These feel just like the 7D they are. There was no need for SAS to bring the nice wide toe box to a little eentsy pointy-point. Comfortable, but it adds extra length no part of your foot can use. Could be rounded. The worst irritation: After two years of slippery, slick, sliding laces slithering undone *several* times *every* wearing, all the time, I just bought and installed flatter dress laces -- ALSO MADE IN USA! Much better. But if i have to do that with every pair of laced shoes I buy, there is a hidden extra cost. I will have some caution before buying SAS for that reason. (Same with Hoka: the laces are so long that when you lift one foot to stop stepping on them trying to tie them, the OTHER foot steps on them.)

Seemed a bit small, and while I was able to put my orthotics in, there wasn't a lot of space.

Very comfortable and the wide width was perfect across the toes, but the boot was too wide for my heel and slipped badly when walking

I have a narrow ankle and could not get these tight enough to not move on my foot. Very little support for my foot too.

Heel was not narrow enough even with pulling laces as tight as they could go. Very flat and back stitching up heel area was rough.

I hope that the shoes were new because the packaging was a redo and there was no SAS information in the box as there generally is.. The excuse for the different packaging etc. was that the original box was damaged in shipment. Good story.

These SAS boots are everything that fits the bill that you’d want in a winter boot. However, my AFO’s wouldn’t fit inside them so had to return them.

THIS STYLE IS RUGGED MORE FOR WEEKEND ROMPING AROUND NOT THE OFFICE. IT'S A MASCULINE LOOKING WOMEN'S BOOT... PERFECT FOR THOSE SEEKING A MASCULINE LOOK. IF YOU'RE A MED. OR WIDE WIDTH BETTE ORDER A DOUBLE WIDE WW BECAUSE THIS COMPANY SAS MAKES SHOES NARROWER THAN ALL OTHERS

very boxy interior heel

My feet have severe pronation (flat feet) and the heel offered no support to my foot and ankle which affects my posterior tendon. I need a wide base support heeled shoe/boot.

Attractive materials, seem well made, simple design. But hit at strange place on ankle. Too low to offer support and cut into skin, despite cushioning. Maybe if they were an inch or two taller with a few more eyelets, they might have worked.

Very stiff. Hard to get my foot into the shoe. Did not feel like an extra wide

Would have been good for a utility boot, but I needed a half size smaller than I usually wear, and even in the narrow the heel was much too wide - my foot was slipping up and down. Had to return them.
