First, the footbed is comfy. The shoe is well made. However, I am disappointed in this purchase. I ordered an 8W. This shoe is a half size larger than my other SAS 8W shoes. I thought the shoe just needed to conform to my foot. Sadly, it slips on my heel, and has loosened even more after just two afternoon wearings. Additionally, I received the shoes with the right shoe leather dimpled about an inch up from the toe's end, and the tongue is a shade lighter with a whitish look like it is sun-faded. I thought that the leather would smooth out, but it hasn't, and I thought that I could live with the tongue, if the leather issue and fit concern resolved itself. I wish that I had returned the shoes. I never expected a size, leather and discolored tongue issue from this company; especially for the price! Now, I'm afraid to purchase other styles from SAS.

I needed waterproof shoes so I choose these but these shoes were not at all what I expected. They are heavy and the soles are thick and bulky. I love SAS shoes but these are not the right shoe for me.

I bought this shoe in wide after reading reviews. I was hoping it is comfortable as my feet are sensitive. This shoe was narrow and gave me a bunyon. I was hoping it would be more comfortable after spending so much money

These seemed ok at first but I wore them on a trip with some really long walking days and now I have plantar's fasciatis after not having any issues with it for about 10 years. I've tried putting new insoles in and nothing helps! Very disappointing in such an expensive shoe (I have a pair of SAS sandals that I buy over and over because they are so amazing).

The shoes pronated inward. The color was not Coffee...but a muddy brown. I am returning the shoes

This shoe is made from good quality leather and I wanted so much to like them. However, I found them to be extremely heavy and thought they would not be comfortable with my troublesome feet on long walks.

This is not an attractive shoe. (It looks like a man's, and the plastic things that the laces run through don't help.) The deal breaker for me, though, is the heel strike feels like concrete despite the cushioned insole.

I always bought Easy Spirit Shoes and loafers and was always happy. I bought all of my shoes from your Huntley Illinois store. They closed so I went directly to SAS.
Since you don't make Easy Spirit anymore I purchased Walk Easy Walking Shoe and was disappointed. I wore them in the house for two weeks hoping to break them in. They never softened. They were so stiff, won't bend, pushed my foot forward that hurt my toes. I am returning them to you.

At first I thought these would work great, they looked pretty cute and were very supportive with my own Superfeet orthotic insert. However, after finally getting my correct size, I slipped on some water on my laminate wood flooring- yikes- no grip! Tried it again on the bathroom tile- a little moisture on the floor made these soles’ traction non-existent. I needed them for a trip during rainy season, so I had to return them. There isn’t much available in the way of lace up supportive black shoes for travel, so I am very disappointed that these didn’t have better traction. Thanks Zappos for allowing me to try many shoes! I’m careful with them, but still appreciate being able to try and return!!

The Pros: they shoes are super comfy and the Extra Wides are (unlike so many shoes) ACTUALLY extra wide. The heels are a bit wide, too, but with the laces, that can be remedied well enough to keep the shoes on with stability. The Cons: ZERO arch support. I don't mean there's very little: I mean there's literally zero: the insides are flat. The shoes are of a decent quality and they're cushy and comfy like slippers, but like slippers, there's no support for walking for any amount of distance. If you're desperate for extra-wide shoes, they're worth considering and adding arch support inserts. I, in fact, debated keeping these for a long time. But I ultimately returned them. For such a very high retail price, there's just no excuse for the complete lack of arch support.

I didn't even try it on. The picture looks a lot sleeker than the shoe itself. When I opened the box I thought , "oh, my mother's diabetic shoe." The detailing and the nubuck were very nice, but for me, the footbed was way to deep. If you wear thick orthotics or have hammertoes, this would be a really good shoe. It just wasn't the style I was looking for.

The shoes were very comfortable. I bought these because of plantar fasciitis and they definitely helped with that. What I am very unhappy with is that twice these shoes caused me to trip. I suspect they are wider than marked. I take a WW shoe and since they were so comfortable it didn't occur to me that they were too wide, they felt like they fit fine, but for some reason these shoes made me trip up (once injuring my shoulder for which I am in physical therapy) and it hasn't happened with any other shoe I've owned. I do not know if it was the shape of the sole, or if the shoe was a wee bit too wide, but these shoes are too dangerous for me to wear.

Thought I would use these shoes on a visit to Arizona. Found them to be too slick on the bottom, too heavy overall. Do they have steel toes? Mostly good for squashing bugs.
Very uncomfortable as well. Pretty expensive and regret my purchase.

I had high hopes for these shoes. Maybe not the most beautiful shoes in the world, but SAS is known for sturdy shoes that offer good support, and that's what I needed. I was very disappointed to find out that they offer no arch support at all. These are basically supposed to be orthopedic-like walking shoes. Yet there is no arch support. I returned them for that reason.

Size fit good. But, the top of the shoe pinches my foot when I bend the foot to take a step. Also, the soles are squeaky on floors.

I have three pairs of SAS sandals that I love. I have painful arthritis in one ankle, and I had hoped that these shoes would serve me on two trips abroad that are coming up. I have very tiny feet and these shoes were very small. My Toes were cramped, the shoe was painfully stiff, and the bottom of the shoes felt really weird on the bottoms of my feet when I was standing up. I had been warned that these shoes were ugly, but they actually were not nearly as ugly as they were torturous to wear. They went right back in the box and back to Zappos.

Had I known ahead of time that this has a rocker sole, I would not have purchased it.
Ive been wearing SAS shoes for more than 14 years. It is all I have in my closet; lately my Achilles tendon has been a-killing me. currently going for physical therapy. As soon as I take my shoes off, I feel much better. If you are used to wearing rocker soled shoes, these should be fine, but they don't work for me.

I tried to like these shoes but after wearing them regularly for almost 6 months they were still not comfortable. They are flats but the heel is just too high for me. I feel like I am leaning forward when I am standing. I can really feel the extra padding under the heel and it is uncomfortable. I can feel where the padding stops mid-foot.Wearing these shoes and doing a fair amount of walking and standing everyday put pressure on the balls of my feet. My feet feel much better now that I have stopped wearing them.
