I LOVE these shoes! I've never owned a pair like this that my feet do not hurt at all while wearing them or after a full day at my job! Thank you SAS!

Luv SAS but after weight loss, the narrow is still too wide. Am going to try Slim. SAS has a Siesta clearance in slim for $80.00, and if you would give me a good break on then, I'd order from you again.

I am between widths so I ordered M and W. The wide left a gap at the heel and felt big. The medium width was uncomfortable. I am returning both.

I really wanted this shoe to work. The leather quality is superb, the width is great for my foot plus thick custom Rx orthotics, but the heel is a no-go. I tried various ways to tighten the shoe with no success. I don't have room for thicker socks with my orthotics. The shoe continued to slip with each step. I fault my narrow heels. The sole was extremely comfortable as I walked inside the house. I continue to look for a replacement for my favorite shoes which are no longer being made (Brooks Addiction Walker the original, not the second edition). Thanks to Zappos for making it easy to try shoes!!

i wear sas free time shoes every day. i have worn them for at least 15 years. I was disappointed i could only get the $40.00 discount at the store on 2 pairs. i live 100- 125 miles from nearest shoe store. i will continue to order them since they are the most comfortable shoe i have worn.

I would have given a higher review, but had to take it down for customer service 1) because my mother received the wrong size and wrong color 2) was promised but never received a $25 gift certificate as an “apology” for the mistake and 3) the replacement color is not what my mother wanted. She still likes the shoe because it’s very comfortable. But the errors in handling and customer service are making me wonder if I should order from
Zappos again.

I was so excited about this shoe because l need extra wide. But it just wasn't comfortable, can't really put my exact reason. I'm returning these shoes but PLEASE continue to offer extra wide sizes because l will definitely try a different style. Thanks!

I will try any brand (that's not ugly) with extra wide sizes and arch support.!

This is a fairly nice shoe for someone who needs orthotics. However, the toe box was too stiff and narrow to accommodate my bunions.

Lengthwise, the shoe was perfect. Because I have a wider toe area, the shoe felt a little snug across the width, but not so much that it causes discomfort. I believe in time, it will stretch some. I was going to use the shoes for walking outside, but they do not feel right for that purpose, so will be using them as an indoor shoe.

This is the third pair of SAS shoes I bought from Zappos, hoping to have a casual, comfortable pair of shoes that weren’t athletic-type shoes. I haven’t been able to find any such shoes in my size 11.5 N; the SAS shoes in particular are much too wide in the heel and narrow in the toes. At least the leather is soft. I don’t understand why N shoes have narrow toes, which most people don’t have unless they’ve worn crowded shoes, and very wide heels. Easier to stretch heels than to try to make them narrower. The heel pads don’t work in my shoes because I have orthotics that move them when I insert the orthotics. The style is OK and they’d be comfortable if my heels didn’t slip up and down with each step.

The good:
1) I originally ordered a pair of shoes that were not wide enough and had to return them. The process was very easy and I got my refund pretty fast.
2) I reordered and got a wider pair. The shoes are just as described by other reviewers. Felt great right out of the box. I have painful knees and I can walk so much better with these shoes!!!!!
3) the fact that these shoes are non slip is a nice feature when you live where there is ice.
4) i'm Likely to buy 2 more pairs of SAS shoes in the near future...a pair of tennis shoes and a pair of black shoes for work - because wow, comfort is so important!!
The bad: I do think the shoes look a bit like old lady shoes. I didn't really like them at first for that exact reason. It was the comfort that won me over. I'd love it if the shoes were "cuter." BUT I have to make this statement to SAS. Please SAS - PLEASE never sacrifice comfort for fashion.

I have flat feet and problems with plantar fasciitis. I need very supportive shoes and these are perfect. Since I wear hard orthotic inserts, the shoes get hard wear. The salesperson told me that replacing the TriPad comfort inserts would help protect the shoes but they don't seem to be sold separately on the web site.

This is the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. The nubuck is definitely more stylish than the leather; it is also more comfortable in my opinion. Please make it in nubuck in some better colors! The charcoal is great, but the light blue and sage are totally impractical. What about a a nice dark brown or navy?

Comfortable. Walked through the mall and they have a nice cushion. No pinching in the toe box. I had this shoe in white and tan and it looked orthopedic. I ordered it in the denim blue and it looks more sporty.

I think these are excellent shoes, but they didn't quite fit my feet. It was like the width in the front was good but there was too much width in the heel. A shame because they otherwise would have fit my need and I liked them. Not stylish - a bit orthopedic looking. It might just be my feet, and perhaps a regular in this style would have worked but I didn't have time to try.

I love SAS shoes! I put these on as soon as I opened the package, wore them the remainder of the day, and they felt terrific. I have bunions which are bothered by most other shoes, but not with these. They are comfortable, fit right and have plenty of toe room.

Great walking shoes that work with my orthotics. I got wide because of my bunion, but they fit well despite my narrow heel. The black leather fabric is a bit too shiny, giving the shoes a retro look. I wish they came in suede (black and beige).

I have the SAS Cozy sandal in 11 2A which fits great, so ordered Free Time in the same size. I have very slim heels, and a bunion on one foot. The 11 in this shoe is too long and 2A slips in the heel. The quality is very good and comfortable.. Since then I ordered another SAS style in 10.5 3A and it was not long enough but the heel did not slip for me. the 3A was good.. So it looks like 11 3A may be my size. Will see!

These shoes were comfortable from the moment I put them on, they cushion my foot, and provide me with the much needed support and stability I was looking for in a shoe. The details of the shoes are well thought out and the construction reminiscent of a time when quality was more highly regarded than quantity.

I have very narrow, flat, pronated feet and can only wear SAS shoes. They are very comfortable but the price has gone up very high since I have been buying them!!! I was paying $98.00 to 112.00 and now they are closer to $200.00. It is very difficult to pay this when you have to buy 3-4 pair of shoes. Why such a huge change??? I wish they would come up with some dressier designs.

I bought a pair recently for my day to day shoes as I spend all my time in sneakers and thought I should take better care of my feet by wearing shoes more often.
They are comfortable - the 1st time I wore them I walked around NYC during the holidays. There was some discomfort by my bunion but it was very slight and I attributed that to needing to be broken in.
One word of caution -- the teak shown is not what the actual color is -- it tends towards a mocha/chocolate brown.
