It love it. Use it everyday for school.

I use this product for school and travel. It is very sturdy yet comfortable and keeps its form. It's amazing how much it can hold without looking over packed.

I love this backpack. After years of putting it through the ringer for work and travel, the zipper was messed up, the lifetime guarantee came in handy. I chose this backpack again because it fits many items for work and every day, including my laptop and books. Keeps everything protected and in great shape. I especially appreciate all the pockets and compartments that make it easy to organize and fit items comfortably.

Would highly recommend this bag! Was looking for something stylish and comfortable that I could use to carry both my things as well as my son so I would t have to use my wife's diaper bag. This bag does it all. I'm able to carry my laptop as well as everything that my son would need when we're out or traveling. Great bag overall!

I love the surge backpack! It is the perfect size. Not too big, not too small! I ordered this through my local store (Rochester, NY) and the staff was outstanding and amazing! They helped me order the product online even though it wasn't in store! This pack is functional and stylish whole not being bulky or annoying. Will buy this again and again and again!

My child requested this model for school and was very pleased with it when it arrived. The styling is very sleek and there seem to be pockets/compartments EVERYWHERE.

I would buy this again and again but I doubt I'll not need to buy another for a very long time! Very durable, it has stood up to a 17 year old stuffing it full with books, laptop, sports gear, clothes and everything in between! Roomy pockets for sunglasses, tech, and water bottles come in very handy.

I am a college student and use it for books and my computer.

Bought backpack for college aged child and he loved it so much that i also bought it for our high school son. Excellent backpack with enough room for laptop and school books. Light weight and fits a tall individual very well.

This is the best bag I have used till date. I have tried a lot of other brands, but this bag surely surpasses all.

I bought my first Surge about ten years ago and needed a replacement for it was beginning to smell. The new version Surge is a bit different design though the total capacity, durability, looks and functionality has not changed. I'm sure other ten years will go by with my new Surge.

Great backpack for college!!

I absolutely love my NEW AND IMPROVED SURGE II! Awesome color scheme. Tough material/zippers. Stylish yet useful pockets both lined with and without fleece. The laptop pocket also includes an accordion-like series of pockets which is useful for storing and protecting documents, laptops, and other flat objects (folders, pictures, tablets... etc.) the main pocket houses several text books with additional room for other items like spare gym clothes or a small lunch box. Coming from someone who was fond of and relied on a Swiss Army laptop bag throughout my undergrad I am more than satisfied to have a stylish yet durable replacement for grad school. I'm using this for college and it has plenty of space for everything I need. I used it once before I left for a day trip hiking a 13er and it had more than enough room for extra layers, food, plenty of water and anything else we needed plus room to spare. While it is designed and purposed for more of a work style/school backpack, I think it works great for a multitude activities, it's versatile.

Great. Lots of space

I got this backpack for my boyfriend for his birthday, and he loves it. I've had North Face backpacks before and mine have lasted forever, so I knew this was a worthy investment. It's definitely worth the price. I love the sleek look of it, and it has a ton of pockets so he can fit his laptop, other gadgets, and everything he needs for a weekend away or longer. This thing fits a ton of stuff but it doesn't end up looking like a big turtle shell like a lot of backpacks do. I got the all black one and it's just a very cool looking bag, and it won't show any dirt! We're both very happy with the purchase!

This is a great backpack! There is a laptop and ipad compartment that opens very widely. Also the main compartment is very roomy. This is a great backpack for school, travel, commuting, etc. This is my Surge backpack!

I bought my first Surge bag in 2007 and it is still my go to hiking bag now. Since it's used for outdoor activities it wasn't the best bag to take to meetings with clients so I ordered the new version hoping it would be just as good as my classic one. Can say I was not disappointed. I love the new vented back and the addition of tablet pockets. For work every day, I have 2 sets of headphones, a macbook pro, ipad pro, notebook, sunglasses, and books. Everything has a place and pack is lightweight and stays in place. Another winner for The North Face.
