Ignore the 2-star review. Many people choose to assign blame rather than take ownership of their own mistake. The user who posted said review failed to consider whether or not the advertised features and benefits of the product aligned with his needs. He simply chose a product that was not ideally suited to his needs. For savvy consumers who perform adequate research, this bag will perform exactly as you'd expect from TNF. I absolutely love this bag.

I needed a bag that would carry my laptop and my gym clothes for my morning work out and this fits everything with ease. It's very comfortable and spacious. I love how the laptop section is very separate so I'm never worried about putting my sweaty gym clothes in the main section after a workout. There are also several compartments that help you stay organized. I absolutely love the bag.

I wanted make a change from the huge bulky and often over-stuffed messenger bag I have been using to a backpack. I wanted a backpack that would be comfortable to carry a full load (laptop and several books/binders/papers), look clean and mildly professional, and would be suitable to also carry on planes when traveling. I chose this one for its large capacity and tons of pockets. I absolutely love all of the pockets. I am still trying to get used to carrying a backpack again, and one that is built different from all of the other backpacks I've carried before. This pack is definitely tall and narrow. I am still learning how to stack and pack items to achieve the best carrying comfort and ease of removing and packing items back at the end of the day. Sometimes the pockets, especially the front organizational pocket, feel like black holes at the bottom where you could place something in the bottom and never find it again. But overall I do like it, I know its going to be easier on my back and better for traveling than my messenger bag. I am still learning it and breaking it in.

This backpack is a great size for someone who is larger. Has a lot of room for everything that you may need on the job or for General use. The only con that I could find is that the laptop pouch looks like it was meant for a MacBook and my 16 inch Dell does not fit in the actual pocket, but it does fit in the zip off section just fine.

This bag was a gift from North Face to repair a defective bag I had for over eight years. This bag is far better than the last.

This a great backpack for any college student, like myself. I knew it was big when I bought it but I didn't know it was THIS big. On the bright side as my course load increases, I can fit more materials into it.

Great protection for my laptop with plenty of room for books and clothes. The straps are very comfortable and adjusted well to my frame.

Great quality, but I wish the large openings opened wider. Especially the pocket in the back closest to the padding. We can barely fit a narrow book in that pocket.

A sleek, stylish look that has plenty of space and pockets for whatever you need to carry. It retains great practicality with a fashionable look. It has padding in all the right places with the ability to adjust straps to meet your perfect comfort standards.

It's a great product for outdoor use. It has the capacity to hold what ever you need. I wanted it as a bag for books and laptop and it has more room than I needed. But it's still a great bag.

Looks great; feels great. Can't wait to put it to the test. It feels like it could last a lifetime. I really like the fleece lining in some areas. Love all the pockets (wish your jackets had more of them). Just wish it had a little DWR for when you're stuck walking in the rain...then, it would be perfect!

This backpack is very well designed and I highly recommend a purchase. The only down sides are the pockets for water bottles, this is because bottles tend to slip out of these pockets. On the other hand there are two pockets and is great to toss running shoes in both pockets. The laptop slip in the back of the pack is a bit unrealistic for clumsy people. A recommendation for new north face packs would be a stick in the slip to keep the laptop from slipping out or a zipper.

Used for carrying books to and from class during college and short trips. The bag is very nice but be wary of the colors in the pictures, the gray is nearly black in person which is why I only gave 4 stars instead of 5.

Looks great but I just got mine and the grey part on the Zink Grey Heather/TNFBlack is considerably darker than the previous editions or the picture on the website...

The backpack itself is wonderful. It has enough pockets, adequate room, specially designed laptop sleeve. The only thing that bothers me is that the colour of the bag is quite different from the picture they show online. Heather grey seems like black actually. Except the colour, everything is perfect.

It's a great bag, but boy, it's a big one. I can fit 3 days of clothes and my laptop and all of my audio gear in here, which is a bit terrifying. The numerous small pockets, especially the 3 external pockets (two fleece lined, one not) are great for quick grab and go gear, like my pocket recorder and earbuds, personal items, and snacks. Just a bit tricky to know which pocket is which, since there are so many. Only complaint is that it is so darn big, and that the laptop pocket holds a 17" laptop, sure, but the sleeve doesn't quite fit anything over 16" or so. Not a huge problem.

This bag is huge. It fits my laptop + work stuff, all my running gear and and I can still find room for my climbing gear when I do double days. I wouldn't say its the most stylish because it's too big for that, but it's low profile enough to not be bad looking. A couple of the pockets have soft lining which is nice for cell phone, glasses or whatever expensive gear you cary with you. Not sure how it would do outside though (as in heavy weight for extended periods of time). Not waterproof but seems well built. Basically a bag that gets out of the way if you're someone who usually caries a lot of stuff.
