I usually wear this bag for travelling and work, and in my opinion it is a very handy and useful bag with a high quality you can hardily find in other products. There are a lot of compartments for all your things (computer, block notes, pocket and etc.)

This is a relatively inexpensive bag, and what you get a is five star quality. I have been using the bag heavily every day for over four years, and there are only slightly signs of wear. This is a highly functional, sleek looking bag that is the perfect bag for a wide range of activities.

I use this for school and work all the time. just stash everything in there very quickly. It's been super useful and i've gotten a number of compliments. Also having a Timbuk2 conveys a certain mobility and hipness. The one downside I've noticed with this bag is that the laptop compartment isn't padded. Once it dropped to the ground with the laptop inside it and the laptop got dinged. Since then i've been keeping my laptop in a sleeve. That's really the only negative experience I've had.

I use this every day for work. It is my briefcase, my tote, my handbag, my everything. It has so much space but also great pockets to organize things in. I have two handbag organizers in it to create more organization and so that I can grab them and move them to another bag when I need something that functions or looks differently.

I have a friend who has a previous edition of the classic messenger, I borrowed it once and simply didn't care for it much. I have a Timbuk2 backpack but steered clear of their messenger for years because I was convinced that I just didn't like them - too bulky, heavy, uncomfortable, and not enough pockets. But about two weeks ago I decided to replace a busted but serviceable no-brand canvas messenger I'd been lugging around, and I came across the description of this updated classic. The demo video ft. Jared and the customer reviews convinced me, so I went for it. Seriously, best decision. BEST. DECISION. It's weird to gush about a bag, I know, but this thing is such a beaut. I got the small size, and my 13" laptop fits perfectly in the big slash pocket. It even fits my laptop's sleeve! What! All of the other things I need to take with me to school or work fit just fine as well, plus it looks sharper and sleeker than the previous version, and it's fantastically comfortable to carry. This is one of the smartest purchases I've ever made. The only thing that I would change about it is that I'd like for one of the inside organizer pockets to be slightly wider, something which could accommodate a passport-size wallet, for example. This is a tiny criticism for what is otherwise the perfect bag for my purposes. No joke, I can't wait to nerdily show it to my friends. Thanks for the update, you guys. I'm glad I came around.

Being a graduate student I needed a bag that could go from the classroom to the office quickly and this is just the bag. It's lightweight and durable. Not to mention it's weather proof! The bag is a little stiff at first, which makes it difficult to open the buckles right away. However, once you use it a few times that goes away. Overall, this is the best bag I've bought from Timbuk2! (I own 3)

I love this bag. I live in a small town and work at home, but just about everyday I need to get out of the house to see humans. This bag is PERFECT for either walking or biking to my favorite coffee shop du jour. It is comfortable and roomy! In fact, it's so roomy that I stuff more in it than I actually need (which, I suppose, gives me more of a workout when I'm walking those meager 2 miles). I am completely obsessed with my messenger and now find excuses to work out in the community even more than I used to. This was a GREAT buy. The stability strap for riding is wonderful too. I originally ordered a medium that I found on sale -- but that was too huge for my purposes (and I'm only 5'4"). Returned that and got a small in Desert Grass. I don't think I could happier about this purchase!

Great for everyday use. Easy, quick access to compartments. Comfortable and stylish. Inside lining is a bit susceptible to pen marks/stains ... but thats my own fault! Overall ... Great product. Highly recommended

I love the idea of the side zip pocket which can be accessed without opening the main Velcro compartment. The contraption for allowing one-handed adjustment of strap length is genius. Very comfortable and lightweight bag which magically goes with everything - a casual day out, to the gym and also to work. Have one and bought this as a gift. Will be looking forward to getting a few more in different colors.

Nice design. Perfect size for commuting. I'll never use my back back again to commute with. Comfortable even when stuffed with gear. Only comment ... I wish that the small compartment under the flap had access from both sides.

I bought this bag when my kiddo was one and done with needing to carry around all the extra clothing and feeding supplies that go with younger babies. My Skip Hop changing pad fit perfectly in the laptop section, wipes and a couple diapers fit well in the front zip compartment, the bag clipped closed so my kiddo couldn't open it, and it fits a days worth of snacks and toys plus my wallet. Moreover, it doesn't look like a diaper bag! It takes trips to the park like a champ, cleans up nicely and is all around a great bag.

I have only had the bag for 3 weeks but I have already used it to commute to work via bike and bus, travel on an airplane, and even took it on a hike where it handled very well. I was impressed with the water resistance, so far it seems fairly stain resistant (dog shook mud over it and it wiped clean easily). Comfortable strap that is easy to adjust to different lengths. We went on a 9 mile hike one day without access to a hiking backpack and the messenger bad was surprisingly comfortable and convenient for the hike. Not TSA friendly which would have been nice for traveling however it was not advertised as such. I would personally prefer more storage compartments however, again, it came exactly as described on the website.

Bag is great, quality is awesome, top notch. The strap could be a little longer by 12 inches. This would lower the bag position on the body. Right now it lingers below the rib cage as opposed to lower of back if the strap is a bit longer. This is perfect for iPhone, iPad , and office/campus meeting trips.

Only real negative is that the strap adjuster isn't... adjustable. It only works if you wear it on your left shoulder. I really like to pack my bag, so it would be better for me if I could adjust it from either side so I could give that shoulder a break sometimes. That said, I can't imagine a practical way to do so without ruining the functionality so I can't be too negative about it. Doing so though would be amazing. < 3 Also, the pink available for custom bags is... disgusting. Dark pinks just don't look good. A light bright pink would look happier and much more attractive

I was very worried that since I got the small size that it would be too small. I wanted the smallest bag while still being able to fit my computer in it. Turns out, the small version still fits my 15" MacBook Pro. I'm stoked, this bag does everything I want it to do. It has so many compartments; it looks good, and feels good to wear. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I love my bag. I commute to work everyday and have to carry a lot. My bag is almost perfect. My wishes are a bit longer strap and more pockets on the inside. I have a lot of smaller items and would love to have more pockets to organize things. Other than that it is the best bag out there and I have tried ALOT!!! Hands down the best!!!! Can't wait to do a custom one just waiting for pocket options. I have already gotten several people to order a new bag its that good.

My husband bought this for me as a Valentine's Day gift. I had been eyeing the bag for a while and he finally bought it for me. It is the small bag in grey with blue trim. I love the separate space for my Macbook Air. It makes it so much easier to deal with, especially when traveling. I do wish there was a zippered space or two in the middle of the bag. All of the zippered spaces are on the front of the bag. Unless the whole bag is full, it does cause the front to sag a little. Going up to the medium would probably fix this issue but that bag seemed too large for my normal uses of just traveling to and from campus with my laptop and basic contents. The big draw for me was that it is water proof and it has been a very wet (i.e., rain and snow) year.

I'm a control system programmer and work in the field a lot. I need to carry a laptop, a variety of cables, a few small adapters & tools, etc. The small messenger is the perfect size for my needs. My laptop (Dell XPS-15 9550) does not fit properly in the laptop sleeve, though the calculator says it will fit. I ended up purchasing a bag with the document sleeve instead...the way the corners of the doc sleeve are constructed, allows for a slightly larger machine, and mine fits perfectly. FWIW, if your machine's dimensions are greater than 9.25" x 11.25", be suspicious of how it will fit, regardless of what the calculator says. The highlights: -The strap, shoulder pad, and buckle are the best I've ever encountered. Comfortable and easy to adjust. There's a lot of other bag manufacturers that could take some lessons here. -The size of the (small) bag itself. There are plenty of >20L messenger bags on the market, but very few under 20L, that offer any possibility of carrying a laptop. -Material seems quite durable, and the waterproof liner material along with the well thought out closure gives me confidence if I get caught out in the rain. -Plenty of zipper pockets for storing bits and things. The issues: -I know I'm not using the bag quite as intended (carrying a laptop without a laptop sleeve), but I wish there was a bit of padding to the back panel. I ended up adding my own (automotive headliner foam), and it improved the comfort significantly. -The water bottle pockets are a bit small. Granted, they couldn't be made much bigger without increasing the size of the bag. -The basic, alloy zipper pulls rattle around more than I'd like. I replaced all mine with nylon pull tabs. Easy fix. -The largest, internal zipper pocket could be bigger...width and depth. -I hate Velcro, and would prefer to have it entirely omitted from the bag (not even an option if ordered custom). The silencer strips are an acceptable compromise. Overall, I think the bag is excellent. I can fit everything I need without an excessive amount of extra space. For reference, I can fit everything that you see in the picture, plus an iPad Air, notepad, a couple energy bars, and a small bottle of water. Highly recommended.
