I use the bag when I am at the beach or a short hike....the colors are bright....and it provides enough room for all of my needs during these walks....

Really a well-balanced, well-constructed, well-designed bag. I initially thought it might be too heavy and too large for a petite height, "older" woman but it's great and despite the weightier Cordura fabric (vs nylon, my go-to), the bag does not feel like a drag across my shoulder. The fact that it has a "pad" divider that's rather stiff, allows the bag to hold its shape well. The whole effect is that it's tidy and well, almost "tailored", especially in the Cloud colorway I purchased. The interior fabric of mine is a pale gray making things easier to find. There are just enough pockets organizationally speaking to prevent "losing" items. Love the two side wall pockets for water, spare specs, lotion. I thought I might miss outside pockets but after a few days of using this bag, I find I don't! So far, so good and will let you know if that changes in the near future!

There's nothing to compare to the workhorse messenger bag. Everything is in place and it is light weight. Just one thing.......why no outside back pocket?

Originally, I bought the bag for myself. Bit with Mother's Day approaching, I decided it would be a better fit for the wife. As a commuter, she carries her laptop, lunch bag & purse. I thought it would be too small. They all fit in great and she is happy to only need to carry one bag from car to train to walk to work and back again! Thank you Timbuk2

At my condo trash collection area someone discarded a new unused Timbuk2 Messenger bag. I have used it ever since. It is comfortable to carry with a heavy laptop and great for a one day trip. Fits under the seat on a plane. I would have paid for one if I didn't find one!

I bike errands and to work frequently. I do have several panniers in varying sizes but was looking for something smaller and less obtrusive when my destination requires less packing as well as not looking like I just biked across town. I had a handlebar purse but it was just too small.
The XS bag is a perfect step down in size from my panniers, it's comfortable and the cordura feels very durable and will likely handle being patched very nicely years from now with wear and tear. Cordura is tough and easy care, they make western saddles from it. The pattern selection is fantastic! I went with 'Terrain', it has a number of convenient pockets to stow items instead of digging around in the bottom, the shoulder strap adjusts very quickly and feels secure. I also love the strap length options (5' 6" female), I can shorten it all the way to keep it tight, then lift up and it drops to comfortable waist length for off-bike use.
I do wish the XS came with a stabilizer strap or at least rings for it, but having never used a messenger bag before, perhaps the small size negates that need? If I find I need it I will either attach a small D ring to the corner to accommodate one or have my husband make me one that will loop around one of the flap buckles for similar effect.
I'm excited to get used to using it, and if it goes well I may buy a S or M size to finish off my packing options.

I love this bag! It's super sturdy and functional. I can even fit my laptop in the extra small bag, which I did not expect.
One thing to note is that the velcro is REALLY loud. I read that in a review before I purchased, and thought to myself what a weird and unnecessary comment that was. But now I get it. I often find myself cringing when I'm at a meeting, conference, or whatever, and have to rip open this crazy loud velcro. It makes it hard to be stealth. I wouldn't change it though! Better to have mega-velcro than something that doesn't stay closed.

This is my second Timbuk2 bag. I will never buy another bag!!!!!!!! My first purchase was like 6 years ago and the thing is still brand new. I have purchased bags in the past and they are busted within a month. You guys make a quality product and stand by it. Whenever I see someone else with a Timbuk2 bag I stop them and comment on how much I love mine...creepy way to meet people. Thank you!!!!

So I am a bag freak. Love casual bags that can handle the daily grind. THIS messenger IS IT! Lots of bells and whistles ( Love that it Velcro's close as well as clips) - a bunch of pockets and a great strap that is easy to adjust. And the matters IS DURABLE - and cool looking! (Love the accent stitching!)
Anyway - I got one at Christmas - now bought a second one. It is my "go to" bag for travel and my day-to-day. No compromises and did I mention it is DURABLE!!?? I would have bought a second one sooner - but the color combo I wanted just came in stock.
My one ( and it is a small one) negative is I wish the strap on the XS ( the size I get - and it is plenty big .. like big enough for a tablet to fit with all my other junk) were a tad bit longer. Very cool quick way to adjust the length - (props to whomever thought of that - super easy and convenient) - yet there is not enough strap to have to worry with adjusting. Not a deal breaker for me - just add a few more inches and it would be a 5+ star!!!

I've been using the messenger bag for a few days now for work. And I must say I love it and it meets all the necessities. The bottle holder on both sides I think is one of my fav feature. I do think a carry handle placed between the flap and luggage sleeve would complete the bag! All and all an excellent purchase for anyone looking for a not too formal work bag.

Love this bag. My first one that was shipped got stolen and UPS would not help at all. Timbuk 2 was so kind to ship out a replacement bag no charge. I love my new bag. Thanks again

This is my 2nd MG! Small size to carry mirrorless camera + passport, etc. for trip to Europe. Many improvements over the "old" one. Workmanship is excellent. Additionally, staff online and on the phone were extremely helpful. Ordered two sizes to compare and returned one. No issues in refund. Have recommended to family and friends that this is better than a day backpack or a regular backpack.

When I first looked st it I feared it would be too small. I was wrong. It's the perfect size for my everyday items. I like to put my hand into my bag and find what I want without looking and definitely without digging and rummaging. This little bag delivers. It has LOTS of pockets-enough to separate all my goods. I love specially love the divider in the main compartment. It's just what I hoped for, neat, organized and light weight.

After using a generic "messenger" bag for a few years, finally getting one that is actually designed for comfort, organization, and ease of use is an AMAZING upgrade. First, the bag just feels robust and durable. Now, I haven't beaten it up too much yet to be honest, but the materials definitively feel better than my old cloth/denim bag. Second, the strap and the position the bag naturally takes up when you wear it are both substantially more comfortable. Once I got the strap length sorted out, it just fell into place on my back and I haven't had to think about holding it or pushing it back around my body. Finally, the interior of my Small sized bag holds a surprising amount of stuff. This bag is maybe an inch longer and taller than my previous bag, but it opens up to fit a good amount more, far more comfortably. Finally, the pockets are conveniently placed and there are more than enough of them for the things I carry on a daily basis (tablet, Bluetooth keyboard, large-ish over-ear headphones, note book, chargers, etc.). All in all, this bag is a great daily carry for work, play, or lugging a few things around. I'm genuinely trying to push my GF to buy one now too!

After 20 years, my last carry on bag fell apart and I wanted something nylon with lots of compartments. I ordered it from Timbuk2 and have loaded it up for my next trip and things fit well and loving all the compartments. It seems very well made and super attractive
