It's like a big fanny pack and I ware it as a sling. It has an excellent anoint of room for all of my things. The only down fall is the pad was not adjustable or removable and I found it bulky and not very functional for my needs so I removed by unstitching it and then I had to re stitch the strap which wasn't a big deal to me and the strap pad is why I gave it a 4 star. I would 100% buy this again!

I've loved my classic timbuk2 bags, and wanted something just a little bigger than the x-small, so I could have a notebook without overcrowding my bag.
I like some of the new features (like the top zip) but I'm a little disappointed by the overall quality, and the strap.
I get that it's a "sling" bag, but the fixed strap seems limiting, without an upside. Also, the fabric seems thinner, and more plastic-feeling than my classic cordura bags.
I'm not really wild about the color: online, the blue looked like royal purple, but in person it's more basic navy. I wish there was a color option in between somber and neon.
As a side note, I'm overall disappointed with Timbuk2's color options, these days. The colors all seem either very masculine, or very loud. How about a maroon, or teal? It's not an option even in a custom bag. If the custom colors included any options I really loved, I'd probably splurge for a $100 bag, but as is, I can't design a bag that really fits me.

This little bag holds everything I need to carry, for my business.
When you guys update this bag, use a strap that allows the pad to move. Size is great, and enough pockets. You might want to add a key strap as well.

I am a car owner...but often I like to do relatively short commutes on my bike...I needed the right bag...this is it! Purse meets backpack...not too much of either...but perfect when riding...easy to access the inside.

This bag is fantastic. Better than I expected for good organization options and an easy carry for multiple uses.
The only thing I would suggest to do differently is to allow the shoulder strap pad to travel along the longer length of the strap; because it is in place at the (either) end of the bag, when you adjust where the pad is, the position of the bag also moves. This wouldn't deter me from buying again or highly recommending it though as I have been able to find a comfortable position to wear it.

The best improvement I can think of is to change the strap design such that the shoulder pad can be moved. Right now its fixed position does not cover my left shoulder without constantly readjusting the position of the bag itself, resulting in a slight discomfort.
It also could use just a little bit more room, only a bit.

So I bought this because I wanted an EDC bag that worked well with my iPad Pro 11" M4. With the simple folio cover (not the keyboard) it does not fit in the sleeve. It does fit free in the bag, which is less than ideal. I guess they just sowed the bottom of the sleeve which makes the iPad reach over the flap's seem which means it doesn't close correctly, even without the pencil.
It does fit fine freely placed in the main pouch, which is sort of dumb because the sleeve is useless and takes a lot of space.
The description says it fits an 11" laptop and the bot said this was the best bag for a tablet. So it's very disappointing.
Other than that (which is my main use case) the bag seems well designed and great.

Pretty great bag but slightly too small. if the velcro was positioned a little higher, or if it was vertical strips it would allow for some adjustment in keeping it closed and let you put slightly larger items in.

I use it daily as I walk around town and, especially, as I ride my gravel bike to work. Everything but the strap is brilliant, perfect for my bike lock, pockets well designedjust great. But the pad on the strap is immovable and the strap itself unable tighten and loosen. It's as if they put a flawed one intentionally.

Good bag. Strap could be slightly longer.

For a bag that promises to be simple and streamlined, it's surprisingly bulky. There is padding on the back of the bag as well as padding for the tablet sleeve -- which adds up to a very bulky fit. Plus the oddly non-moving strap cushion (as others have commented on) adds to the uncomfortable feeling. I was hoping for a streamlined, lightweight messenger, but this is not it. The size is nice but the bulk is not. The fabric and construction is awesome of course, as all Timbuk2 bags are.

This is a good overall sling bag for light travel and day trip. Love the fact that I could fit my regular sized iPad behind the separate compartment.
However, this bag desperately needs more internal compartments or separators (with flaps) to better organize & to secure small loose items. I would have given this a 4-4.5 stars if it got what I mentioned. Hence, the version 2!

I've been a customer of Timbuk2 product since university , so I do love the the bag , I use to have the old catapult sling and it was fantastic, this one is also great but , the lent of the strap if for very small person , it should be longer , im 6foot 3 and 275 pounds and the strap is not long enough , there should be a note or something , ill try to find a longer strap if I want to use the bag ....sad

Fits a Steamdeck in a D-Brand case/cover, some cables, a pd rated battery pack a controller and a mouse.
Not quite enough space to put in my full size headset. Also, the strap doesn't stay in place and tends to loosen when walking to/from the Embarcadero to the financial district. I also modded it a bit by adding a bigger Velcro patch so I could fit taller stuff.

I love the concept of the Catapult Sling 2.0 but in using it for over 2 months, shows the worth of a thing. I love the ability to free up my pockets when using the sling! However, it would have been much more helpful if you could better adjust the sling, Have a sling that is both right shouldered and left shouldered would have also been helpful. Maybe the Catapult Sling 3.0 will do the trick?

I got this product on a budget with the intent to modify it, so none of the following are complaints or were surprising.
I would NOT have been happy with this for a higher/usual price.
The main issue is the closing mechanism is a very thin strip of hook Velcro and nothing else. The modifications I'll be making include adding adjustable straps with proper buckles for secure closure and extra storage.
If you're not interested in modifying bought gear, I cannot recommend this product.

This bag is almost perfect. If it was half an inch wider and had a more secure way to close it, not just velcro affixed to a narrow strap of webbing, it would be the perfect bag for me. My iPad is squished and makes it difficult to unzipped and the outer flap pulls against the Velcro because it is just a smidge too narrow.

Just received my bag. It's attractive and fits my basics, plus my megaboom blue tooth! I like the outside zip pocket for phone and wallet, and top zip entry. But I was perplexed by the non-adjustable shoulder pad and its placement. If worn as shipped, and if the shoulder pad is actually on your shoulder, then the bag is just under your chin and high on your chest, breast and belly--quite awkward. But i took a suggestion from a comment below, and un-clipped the shoulder strap buckles and reversed the strap. Now the pad rests on my shoulder if the bag is across my back side. But I wish the pad could adjust for those times when the bag is more under my arm pit or towards the front in crowds, etc. There's just one position for the bag /shoulder pad The extra length on the shoulder strap has a clip, but it is not a snug fit and is prone to dangling or bunching up and getting in the way. I really like the bag, but am a bit bummed about the shoulder strap/pad situation.

Did not like the fact that you cannot switch padding for left and right over the shoulder side. It's secured in place !

The strap pad does not move, it is stitched to the strap, and it is positioned right up next to the bag itself. This has a couple of negative impacts. It means that unless you want to take the strap completely off and reverse it, you can only wear the bag over your left shoulder. It also means that the bag is always vertical on your back, no matter which shoulder you use. That seems really odd and makes it so the bag is not easy to swing around to your front to access.

Good looking bag, well made BUT the permanently affixed shoulder strap is a deal breaker for me. It also seems to fitted to wear from the right shoulder I prefer the left side. Too bad I liked everything else but the strap is NOT working for me.

The bag has enough space if you are putting only the essentials. The thing that I HATE the most is the strap. The strap is not adjustable and is locked on the end of the bag so the strap doesn't sit well unless you tighten it all the way. By tighten the bag, the edge of the bag sits very close to your back and the edge is not the softest part so it digs into your back after a while. Would return if it wasn't final sale.
