Great shoe, so much support & soft straps. But my low, prominent ankle bone kept rubbing against the large buckle. My feet tend to roll inwards, too, so the lack of a real strap/support to prevent that jsut won't work for me. But for those with a neutral gait this would be great! I wear a 6.5 and the 36 was just right -- 37 (my usual Euro size) would've likely had too much extra footbed beyond my toe, and I hate feeling like I'm about to trip on the tip of my shoe. Am sending this back but totally ordering another style of Aetrex -- the support & comfort are great, and the style is cuter (less orthopedic) than a lot of "comfort" shoes.

The Aetrex brand has been great for my wide feet! ...this style included, adding to my 3 other styles I now own. The foot bed on this sandal is amazing; excellent arch support, soft sueded surface and cushioned ! The foot bed resembles and fits similarly to a Birkenstock, including in the sizing. They run slightly large. My feet are 9.5 - 10, C-D width and these fit amazingly perfect in a size 40/9-9.5. (I am also a size 40 Regular in Birkenstock sandals.) I am typically a size 41 in all other brands. The straps are soft and well-designed. After reading reviews, I was concerned that the buckle would bother my ankle as it did on some other people, but it doesn't at all! I was also wondering if, with the strap-design on these, if they would hold onto my foot very well, and they do! They are also very lightweight. I love these sandals ! I highly recommend these sandals to anyone who has wide feet and needs great support !

I've now bought two pairs of these shoes. They may be the most comfortable shoes I have ever had, even better than my Birkenstocks. I bought the first pair for a trip to Europe in June, and walked close to 10 miles on several days without any pain or other issues. I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot, so arch support is a must for me, and these have it. They are also cushiony on the insole, and the straps are soft. I did notice that the straps on my first pair seemed to stretch a little, so I needed to go one hole tighter on the buckle after a couple of weeks.

I have arthritis and extended walking can be uncomfortable. First day in these sandals I walked 6 miles around the city and my feet felt awesome! And friends loved the gold!

Very comfortable footbed. Most Aetrex shoes have a little lip around the edge of the shoe that rubs my toe and is uncomfortable for my wide feet. These don’t seem to have that problem. The heel strap sits lower on my heel than most shoes and it kinda feels like I’m going to walk out of the shoe. I have decided to overlook that irritation because they are very comfortable and cute on the foot

This shoe is very cute on. The problem I had with it was the toe strap is not adjustable and was too tight. What a shame. They have very good arch support and great style. I wear an 8 - 8 1/2 and the size 38 is perfect in length so I didn't try the 39.

Great alternative to Birkenstocks. I bought a half size down. Fantastic arch support with great style.

These sandals are like walking on pillows!! I have bad knees and these offer support and cushion. There is arch support also - Highly recommend!!

I bought these in two colors on sale. They are my first Aetrex's brand sandals. I couldn't decide between maroon and the ocean so I ordered them both on sale. I will be keeping them both. They fit similarly to Birkenstock's, run a bit long and wide with even more arch support than the Birks. I typically wear a US size 5.5 or 6 and a European size 36. I wear a size 5 in Chacos and a size 35 in Birkenstocks. The size 35's work for me in the Aetrex though they manage to make my small foot appear wide. The white sole on the maroon gives the sandals a much more casual, even athletic styling. The insole is squishy under the soft suede lining and very comfortable. The straps are angled slightly off to frame my foot perfectly but I suspect they will fit perfect after a few wears. These sandals offer superior comfort for my high arch. Construction seems to be high quality but time will tell. I highly recommend but I would suggest ordering down if you are between two sizes.

Very attractive sandal! However, it hits the bunyon on my left foot at exactly the wrong place. I had to wear them several hours to get a feel for the fit and now I am uncomfortable returning them. I wonder if I had gotten them wider, the fit wouldn't be so painful. I wish someone would design shoes for people with flat feet.

Best Sandal Ever !! I have THE most hardest time finding shoes/sandals that will fit my feet AND be comfortable and supportive. These not only have the strong arch support I need, but cushion foot bed too! The unique strap-configuration not only looks great but works! I was a little concerned, when viewing the demo video, that they wouldn't stay put on my foot very well, but they do. The straps are super soft as is the foot bed. The suede straps are just a tad bit on the thin side material-wise, so the only thing I would change on these is making this sandal using a thicker leather, but the sandal is lightweight, so it should be okay. I was also wondering if the buckle would bother my ankle bone, as other reviewers have mentioned, but it doesn't bother me at all. I'm almost always a size eur. 41 (but a 40 regular in Birkenstock), but in these I am size 40 and the width is perfect for my C-D-width feet. The foot bed sizing is very similar to the traditional/classic Birkenstock. If you have a narrow foot, I would not recommend these for you. I absolutely LOVE these sandals ...so much so, I got them in another color right after I got these in the taupe.

I've worn these all summer long and can say, without a doubt, best purchase ever! These shoes are comfortable for long walks, super stylish - can be paired with a dress or worn with jeans. I have arthritis and my feet never hurt after wearing them. The only small complaint is that the leather strap around my ankle has started to loosen, so I'll have to poke another hole to tighten the strap. I'll definitely be purchasing these again in the future.

I LOVE these shoes!! I wear a size 11 and finding that size is hard enough let alone finding shoes with arch support. These are perfection! The size is spot on in the 10.5/11, the arch support feels like heaven, and I love how cute they are. I have worn them almost every day since I got them 2 weeks ago. I haven't had any knee or issues with my feet feeling tired after walking a good bit. I definitely plan on buying these in another color soon!

The straps of this stylish, chic sandal are extremely soft. The brushed leather covered foot bed offers tremendous arch support. They are extremely comfortable and feel as if I am wearing house slippers. I highly recommend these sandals.

I got these sandals yesterday and wore them around the house a few hours and sad to say I have to return them. Very comfortable foot bed and cute style. The strap across the toe area caused an irritation and became painful even though it was not at all tight.

I loved these sandals as an alternative to Birkenstocks. But they were really sloppy on my feet, even though I take the same size in other styles of this brand.

Wearing them today for the first time and they are amazing -- so comfortable and look great! A little more height than the usual cork sole. It's a real buckle! No velcro! Thinking about getting the taupe now....

Found this same pair at the local shoe store. The salesperson brought these out and reluctantly I tried them on. The arch was perfect for my plantar fasciitis. I purchased them on the spot. They look good with jeans, cropped pants and shorts. I get complements on them frequently. Zappos has these at a much better price than I paid. I will shop for this same brand on Zappos. I would definitely purchase them again.

These are very cute shoes and I get lots of compliments when I wear them. The back strap slips a bit around the heel, but nothing major. Aetrex is a great shoe if you have problems with your feet and arch support.

Fit and size were terrific. Love a wider toe box area, and this sandal has it! Sadly, even though I wore it around the house and on a couple short trips to the store, I got blisters and rub marks on my foot after walking in Germany for only a couple miles, on the 1st day of vacation. It was pretty warm out, and I have lousy feet that blister easily. The first place to rub was the buckle under the ankle bone. After 2 weeks, the quarter size blister on the ball of my foot is still healing, and the rubbed places on my pinky toe and under the ankle bone are barely visible. I wasn't able to wear them the next 2 weeks of my vacation :-/ but again, my feet blister easily. Bummer.

These were cute, but on me the straps felt too soft and stretchy when I walked. I was not convinced they would stay on my feet or be comfortable to walk in longer distances. (I tried the gold version, maybe other leather is stiffer?) I think they were a little too wide for me, too. I have a narrow heal and a wider forefoot, so maybe that had something to do with the straps not feeling like they would stay on my foot. I've also noticed that even though I have high arches, Aetrex arch support tends to hit mine in a weirdly uncomfortable place. I guess not a good fit for me which is too bad- seems like a great shoe if they fit your feet right.

When I first put these shoes on I thought I had found the best pair of sandals yet. They are cute and very supportive. It turns out, though, that they don't work for me for a long day of wear. The arch support is a little too much for my feet and if I wear these too long my arch gets sore. I think the issue might be resolved with an adjustable back strap as I think my foot wanted to be a little further back in the shoe, so the arch could land in the right place.

Fit perfectly right out of the box. However, after a few day’s wearing, the suede leather stretches a bit. Had to tighten the buckle. Great arch support, and they don’t slap against the back of my foot.

So disappointed. Out on the gold/white ones I purchased and wore them to run errands and returned home with sore feet, legs and back. Now I am stuck with a nice looking and mildly expensive sandals that I will not be able to wear again. Can't return them soooooo.
