Wish the boots came in half sizes. I sized down and although slightly snug the larger size would have been way too big.

LOVE these Hunter boots that arrived today! Personally I have never been a fan of the original Hunter boots as they are too bulky and loose around the ankle/foot area as well as in the calf. The Refined style allows a slim, fitted look and feel--they're perfect! No more bagginess at all! The side detail with the buckle is super cute too. I wear an 8.5 or 9 in most shoes and the size 9 I ordered fit very well, with room for thicker socks as well. Hoping these come in additional colors soon!

What more can I say.... it's a classic!

I have lived in these for the past 3 weeks of cold, Maryland winter. I wear them in snow as well as rain as well as just "around" to keep my legs warmer. I went back and forth trying to find Hunter boots that fit; I'm a true size 10 and couldn't seem to find ones that fit n the original stockier foot style--they were either too tight in the 9 or swimming in the 10. These are it for me... I will always have a pair. I LOVE this refined style--perfect fit and stylish without feeling clunky. I wear normal socks under them--thick socks would be too much, as they would be in any of my size 10 shoes. That said, I do have slender calves and only wear running tights/thin fabric pants under these boots, so if you are looking for something to wear with thick socks and jeans, they may not be for you or perhaps you'd need to size up. In terms of arch support, they are rubber boots... it's not prime, but it's not bad, either. I DO drive in these! The ankle rubber does bend unlike a less expensive pair of Kamiks I had that I actually had to remove in order to drive. Highly recommend! And Zappos makes it so easy to return if they don't work out.

These are stylish yet practical and I cant wait to continue wearing them!

Pretty color, a dark red/wine color. Unfortunately my wide foot and high arches prevented me from even being able to get my feet into them. I did not have this issue with the Hunter Original tall boots, so the Refined version definitely runs smaller.

I really like this boot. I have skinny calves, and the Hunter Original felt very large around my ankles and calves. I like how the Hunter Original Refined provides a tighter fit and makes my legs and ankles look slimmer. The medium width does feel a little tighter than a normal medium. Beautiful rain boot!

Love these! I was worried about the height of the boot and the width around my calf but both were perfect. I'm 5'3 and 135lbs. This boot does hug the calf but not so much that you can't wear socks or tuck your pants into. I feel like they make my legs look thinner than the other style. Highly recommend.

The narrow, mor sophisticated style I was looking for. Tough to get on and off but that’s the nature of the beast. I also got the Hunter boot socks which are awesome. There is a scuff mark on the upper toe of the right boot which is the reason for the 4 stars I have thin legs and theses are comfortable in the calf area. If you have curvier calves these might not be for you.

Impossible to get on. I’ve never needed wide calf boots in any brand before but I had to return these. The ankle is so small a shoehorn didn’t even help. If you’re even on the EDGE of having ‘wide calf’ I don’t recommend these. I returned and wide calf replacement fits fine.

These were literally impossible to get on, they run super narrow in the ankle area. I returned and got the ‘wide calf’ and those were barely better.

The calf shaft was too small

Very happy about the fit unlike the traditional ones which run big in the foot/instep and calf. I’m usually an 8 or 8 1/2 and the 8 fit nicely with room for a winter sock. I have a narrow calf and the refined fits perfectly in the calf. The foot is more tapered around the toe more like a leather boot fit and it was perfect. Love the look even more. Just wish the hunter logo was in white/red like the traditional ones. It’s all black on the refined but never had such a stylish rain boot. There is no arch support but it’s a rain boot.

I was so excited to get the Hunter Tall Refined Back Strap boot. It definitely was a gorgeous boot, but unfortunately, I could not get the boot over my calf to adequately and honestly critique the boot. I do not have a wide calf (I am 5'5" and weigh 150), and wear 7 1/2 shoe, so I ordered the 8. This particular style is very slim. I purchased these boots because I tried a pair on that my daughter-in-law had and loved them. All-in-all, the quality and look of the boot was great. I am still on the fence about which style to purchase. And, kudos to Zappos … the boots shipped free, and the postage to return them was covered. It's definitely a "perk" when making a purchase with Zappos.

These are so cute, but they were HUGE. I always wear a size 7 in US, and a size 37 in EU. I had to size down to a US 6 in these.

Would size up to make room for ticket socks

I loved everything about this boot but I’m returning it because my calves are too big even for the wide version. I’m 5’2” and 150lbs. My calf circumference is 15 and 1/4 inches. Because my legs are so short the boot shaft came up too high and was way too tight even without socks. I’m opting for the Huntress boot. It’s in between short and tall boot and the calf circumference is larger than the refined style.

Gave these as a birthday gift. They were a little snug on the top of the foot, but they look amazing.

the boot overall is fine. The exception is the width around the leg. No give. No room for pants to fit. Too tight around the leg

Extremely cute boot, material and quality is amazing. Unfortunately if you have thicker calves they do not fit properly, extremely slim.

This boot looked cute - based on other customers’ reviews. However, it was too tight in the calf and loose in both the ankle and a size 7 felt more like a 7.5 or 8. If you have a skinny calf, these might be a good fit for you. It was easy to make the decision to return these.
