This was a really bad fit for me. I was very excited about the minimal approach and the shoe is nice, light, and very attractive... but the shape is way off compared to my foot. The top-down view on the listing makes the toe box are look a little wide, but pretty balanced - you can see in the photo I've included, however, that it's really skewed far off toward the big toe. My foot (also as shown in the photo) is very flat across the toes - my toes are long, my big toe not being significantly longer than the rest - and it often looks in shoes that don't fit well as if my foot is turning out simply because of how my toes lie. For this shoe to have fit me “correctly”, I'd have needed to remove my smallest toe and cut off my “ring” and middle toe at least a knuckle down. I'm sure the shoe will be wonderful for many, I'm just not one of them, so back it will go (thank goodness for Zappos wonderful customer service!).

I LOVE NB Minimus trail 10 v1 shoes! I purchased my first pair in 2011 while training for my first half marathon. I needed to transition from another minimus shoe and this fit the bill perfectly! I wear this shoe for all things running, cross training and walking (once I retired them from running). I’ve always gone up a full size to accommodate potential swelling etc... Happy feet are important. Needless to say I’m a die hard fan of this shoe and it’s original design. NB if you read reviews don’t ever stray (again) from this original design.

I usually wear a size 8.5, but this is my fourth pair of NB Minimus, so I knew to order a size 9. I don't run, but these are the best shoes for every day wear and also travel. They are lightweight and easy to pack. When I went to Machu Picchu, everyone had on heavy hiking shoes or boots. I wore the Minimus and they were perfect. Great traction and comfort. They are my every day "go to" shoe.
I'd also recommend:

For the past 4 years or so, I have run in ONLY this shoe. I run about 60 miles a month, and after trying every shoe under the sun, adding inserts, using all sorts of tips and tricks - it wasn't until I discovered this shoe that I realized my body wants to run practically barefoot. Knee pain gone, shin splints gone - they simply work for my body.
Plus, If I ever do anything that involves a lot of walking, I wear these shoes.
When i go to crossfit, I wear these shoes.
They are simply the most practical shoes for my body, period!

Low profile and lightweight, I ordered these shoes for traveling. I am normally a 10 but ordered a 10.5 due to other reviews. Very comfortable with a durable sole. Overall, a very nice shoe.

True to size; I work out 5 days a week and these are perfect! Flexability with stability; perfect width and arch support. I have been wearing new balance for years and if you have a slightly wider than medium foot these are perfect! Love them!

My second pair after a few years. I like them because they feel true to size and just feel like I’m barefoot but I’m not. I like feeling the terrain when I’m outside walking and I use them indoors when it’s raining, on my treadmill. After so many years, I was so happy to find these again. Love the solid black. Looking forward to wearing them a lot. Thanks New Balance!

Love these shoes. More lightweight than any other shoe I’ve owned. The toebox is nice and roomy so toes aren’t smooshed.

I have gotten many compliments on this shoe. It looks great and is comfortable, although if you are looking for a soft cushioned shoe, this is not it.

Really cool shoe. I wear a 7.5 and these fit perfectly without being too snug (especially on the heel). I do not anticipate blisters at all. The bit across the widest part of my foot is a little snug on the edges, but it feels like it will give a bit. I was looking for a shoe with good ground feel for stability while doing basic resistance training. The soles are thin but protective. The mesh is very breathable. The insert is not removable, so if you have to have that- these wouldn't be your shoe. The color combo on the shoe is very nice. The deep blue had a touch of green. The overall aesthetic is very nice. And, my 15 year old pointed out, because of the low profile and lightweight build- they don't give you cankles. So who's got two thumbs and no cankles? This Mom.

I love these shoes, I will probably order three more pairs because New Balance is always discontinuing. These have more support than previous versions and seem like they may be slightly lighter. Upgrade all around.

LOVE this shoe.
DURABLE!! This is my fourth pair, and each one has lasted years. Checking my order history, the last pair was purchased 3 years ago and survived daily use and lots of walking. It’s my go-to “everything” shoe.
VERSATILE: They are super comfortable and great for any occasion - running, walking, errands, you name it! They offer excellent traction and grip while maintaining a minimalist feel; they offer a roomy toe box without appearing bulky. Form + Function in this shoe!
CON: The reinforcement around the ball of the foot is larger than in past models, and this caused some unexpected foot pain for me because the new model is not as flexible in the toe box as the older models. (I still have the old pairs and did a side-by-side comparison to verify that this is true, not just my foot changing with age, although that is admittedly also happening - hah!) I would order this shoe again but would try a wide to see if it would help. I wish New Balance would trim the reinforcement strip back a bit to where it was a few years ago so the toe box would regain it’s past flexibility.

I have always been a 7 but this shoe is a tad bit tight in the toe. Will exchange for a 7.5.

I am so glad New Balance brought back the Minimus shoe line, but have been struggling to find the right fit. I read the reviews and tried to let them inform my choices, but ended up needing to size up 3 times (by half sizes). While in normal shoes I am a size 7, I now have a size 8.5 Wide in these shoes that are comfortable in the toe band area, but are too loose in the heel.
I've tried doing the "runner's loop" to reduce heel movement, but am not sure that these shoes will be workable for me because of the discrepancy between the width of the heel and the narrowness of the toe band. I think these shoes could be great and the sizing is just really frustrating to figure out which is a bummer given that you're ordering online.

I'm not as fond of this iteration as my older Minimus model, which is no longer available. I can't really put my finger on what felt different. But as I kept trying to convince myself I loved these, I realized what I REALLY loved was the "what the heck" pair of Merrell Trail Glove 4s I added to the order at the last minute. I kept the Merrells and returned the New Balance. I think I have a new favorite shoe.

I really wanted to love these shoes, my husband has an old pair that he LOVES and is so glad they brought them back. I like them, I'm not sure I love them yet. I ordered a 1/2 size up like many of the reviews advised. They feel a little big, but I think 1/2 size smaller would feel too tight. My feet are wide and these are just the right width. I do like them, I run in the woods 100%, these have just the right amount of grip to keep me sure footed without the bulk of a regular running shoe, they are light-weight and fast drying, thin enough to provide flexibility, but tough enough so I don't feel every sharp rock or stick.. I've only run with them 3 times now but I am hoping that by the end of the summer I love them.

Happy to see these back and with wide width option. I typically am a 8.5 wide, will wear a 9 when wides aren't available. I ordered 8.5 wide in these and they feel comfortably snug.

First of all, like most other reviewers I am *not* a runner. I mean, I did recently run a mile in under 11 minutes which is a personal record but I think my pace is known as a shuffle in the world of runners. Also, pretty sure I have never - nor do I care to ever - run more than 2-3 miles. I mean, if I'm being chased by a bear I'll do what it takes but otherwise, no.
However, I am a petite size 2 who is just over 100 lbs soaking wet with a size 9 foot. To me, this "minimalist" shoe has nothing to do with the tremendous grip or natural feel - blah, blah. It is simply about finding a sneaker that does not look like a clown shoe on my bird-like frame. And, guess what? This shoe is perfect for that! I've struggled being able to wear sneakers with shorts because the shoes look ginormous, but not with these babies!
In all honesty, comfort is secondary to style here, regardless how vain that may sound. But since I'm not running a marathon (or even a 5K!) it doesn't take much for a sneaker to meet my comfort needs. This shoe does curve inward at the heal, therefore, it rubs my ankle. No worries. If I forget to wear my ankle socks that have the extra padding right there, I know how to install a Band-Aid over the resulting blister.
As for size, I tried the 9.5 based on all the reviews and even got a wide (which I've never purchased before. I'm usually a normal 9 and, guess what, I was in this shoe, too. I tried 9.5 normal, 9.5 wide, and (when those were both way too big) even went to an 8.5 normal. In my opinion this shoe fits true to size.
The style is awesome! I got the Tornado blue with light blue and pink accents. I like that it's cute and feminine without being over the top. Simple perfection!

These are very narrow. I ordered the wide and it felt narrower than my regular width shoes. I tried the men's wide, but it was still too narrow. The leather strap part of the shoes was uncomfortable to me. Too bad, because they are so cute!

Way too tight across the ball/toes of my foot. Original pair (several years ago, maybe 2013?) was 6 1/2 W....Loved them and wore them until they literally fell apart. Unfortunately, they don’t make them anymore. These are shaped a bit different, have to try a 7 1/2 W; 7 W is still too small (short & width). So, maybe. Wish they would go back to the “old” design

I have skinny feet and the blue plastic around the shoes squeeze and bunch up the bottom of foor. I ordered 1/2 size up and feels just as tight around my narrow feet. Really wanted to keep these but they are so uncomfortable I can't wait to take them off - definitely will not survive hours of trail hiking. They are going back, sadly

The strap that runs behind the toes isn't good. Locks down the foot, can't splay and makes it too narrow. I don't have a wide foot, but this shoe is very narrow.
