This is a really nice jacket; great construction, great color, except for the sleeve length. They are way too long for the proportions of the jacket --- by about 5-6"! I'm 6'2" & always wear a tall size & the rest of the jacket did fit great. Unfortunately, it's not even possible to cuff the sleeve, which I would have done to be able to keep the jacket. Have to return it.

The hyvent alpha coating is not waterproof at all. Warranty have just returned my request and rejected that anything is wrong. I can't agree since I can't wear the jacket in the rain without getting soaked. I don't know how they test it but this have let me to conclude that north face do not take their warranty seriously.

I bought this Jacket because my old NF jacket is over 15 years old and I thought that it would be nice to have a new one that is also high visible. I am an avid outdoors man who hikes, backpacks, and bikes year round in all weather conditions. I have worn this jacket twice now, once 2 weeks ago at Glacier National Park. I was wearing a high quality base layer, fleece and this jacket. While it did rain and snow during a 12 mile hike, it was not a heavy rain or snow. The draw back was the jacket did not vent at all, literally I was soaked so bad on the inside, that moister was steadily dripping out the end of my sleeve.
North face, you used to make a great product, but you have seemed to shift gears towards fashion and urbanites. Maybe it is time to get back to your roots. I am refunding this jacket and purchasing from your competitor.

I've had two of these jackets. They have been washed according to garment care instructions as well. They function well until the lining starts to peel away a year into owning them. One was a gift and the other was purchased long ago. It's very disappointing. It flakes off everywhere and leaves you covered in the junk.

I bought this jacket inUSA 4 week ago and have been wearing it here in Ireland since. I walk 10k per day and find both on dry and wet days my under top and inside of the jacket is soaking wet after 30 mins. I find it totally unsuitable as a rain jacket.

I was very disappointed in this jacket. Viewing it online I assume it was different, I was expecting something a little warmer, but since you couldn't see the inside. I was told that the jacket names tells you about the kind it is, but a lot of people, including myself don't know that. I am hoping that I can get my husband a nicer warmer jacket so he can wear it instead of wearing his big jacket all the time.

As for the performance of this jacket, I imagine the great reviews are accurate, however, as for the fit of this jacket, I was very unimpressed. TNF, for me at least, has always run slightly on the big side, but not enough to keep me from their jackets, of which I have a few. When I needed a quality rain jacket, I immediately went to the Venture and bought a small. I am 5'7", 140 lbs, and the small absolutely swallowed me, it fit more like a medium or large. I understand rain jackets are intentionally made to provide room for extra layers, but the Venture small is the largest "small" I've ever worn. Unfortunately, I had to return it, and opted for the more slim Mountain Hardwear Plasmic jacket.
