This jacket is great it you love feeling like you are wearing a garbage bag. Most raincoats, up until this year, had a mesh interior liner so your skin doesn't feel the plastic waterproof layer when you sweat. This coat , along with many other brand's raincoats I've noticed, does not have this mesh layer. There's just a vinyl liner touching your skin so if you begin to sweat even a little, the lining gets moist and starts feeling clammy. It's gross. I am puzzled how TNF can claim it is "breathable". There is just no way it can breathe without leaving it unzipped and well, that defeats the point of wearing a raincoat. TNF needs to design this coat with the mesh lining

This is my 3rd DryVent or HyVent rain jacket from TNF. I guess I haven't learned my lesson. The material felt different, so I thought they had finally figured it out...I was wrong. I golfed with this in a light rain, and within 2 holes, my arms were soaked. It was light enough to play in, and was not a downpour. You can see the beading stop and it start to penetrate. I'm not sure how they can advertise these jackets as waterproof, but they are not. They offered to repair the jacket, but it is not broken, this is just the design. Breathability really doesn't matter if you are getting wet. The only truly waterproof jacket is one with Gor-Tex.

I own other amazing Nort Face products but this particular item isn't not up to par with the usual quality's ofthe brand. I used this item twice in Thebes rain and both times it failed to protect against the rain. When I took it off my shoulders were wet indication that the product isn't actually waterproof/fault in the craftsmanship of the product.

These jackets are somewhat windproof but not waterproof as described on the web page. The women ones are a little thicker and material seems to be waterproof. Both are venture 2 styles, but does not meet the purposes as given.

I like this jacket a lot. But the lining doesn't hold up. It begins to flake after a year or two. I have returned jacket 2 times already and all three that I have had have this problem. I can't beleive after 5 years they haven't solved this problem.

I bought this for my husband as a gift for our Hawaii trio. Past forward to when he puts it on for the first time and the right pocket goes all the way through! Yes there is a massive hole! Now I don’t know if I can return to Zappos (he cut the tags), or if this is something north face can fix...I haven’t got a clean answer but it sucks as there’s this big hole in his pockets for our trip we are currently on. Worst north face I’ve ordered.

Wore this for a week on the AT where there was an excessive amount of rain. It was supposed to be my salvation but it quickly became a liability as not only it and my base layers were soaked but it led to some frigid experiences while it took forever to dry out.

I bought it to take to Ireland but not sure. It doesn't fit well and not breathable enough even with pit zippers. It just looks and feels cheap. I have had an UA jacket and thought this would be an upgrade but it isn't

The jacket is certainly waterproof and windproof, but every time I have used doing even moderate exercise (e.g. walking) my inner jacket has become very damp - even quite wet. I always leave the pit-zips open but the breathability factor seems to be zero. It is really worse than useless as I do not end up much drier than if I was not wearing it at all! Very disappointed. Would certainly NOT recommend.

Reminded me of an inexpensive raincoat as to the feel and that inner coating looks very non breathable.

I liked how this looked, and the "specs" it supposedly had, but it has been an unfortunate waste of money. It hasn't kept me dry once during this wet California winter. Whether its a result of flawed design, like not breathing and becoming damp on the inside as a result, or leakage the end result is the same. It's a shame, it's a great looking jacket and packs well.

The fit on this jacket is way off from past North Face rain jackets, and is now considered "relaxed fit". The sleeves are incredibly long and the jacket is quite baggy. I am 5'10 155 lbs and bought a medium. Consider purchasing one size smaller, or a different brand.

It's a nice rain jacket, but this isn't a spring/fall jacket, it's simply meant for rain and casual wear but not worth the price because it's noisy like a rain jacket, looks nice, but I expected way more
