It is a good quality windbreaker but has no insulation!

Bought the jacket for my boyfriend and he's typically a medium in most clothes. The jacket ran a little larger than most mediums I've purchased in the past. The sleeves were also a bit short. He does like the feel of the jacket though.

Jacket fits good, blocks wind but should be advertised as water resistant. It is not water proof, and should not be advertised as such.

Nice color, fine quality, good jacket save for the sleeves being far too wide and long for me

Looks great. Pretty baggy in the sleeves though which doesn't look great. Hope it repels water decently for short durations outdoors.

Just got the jacket today so I haven't tried it out yet. It is a replacement for a defective jacket ( lining pealed). Trying it on it seems the sleeves are too long and it seems to be heavier than the jacket it replaced. Not sure I am going to keep it.

I definitely like the style of the jacket but the feeling of the inside was to plastic like and I wanted to check in to be waterproof which it was but the inside was just too uncomfortable for me.

Buying this jacket wont be a mistake, but think about what you will be using it for. In short this is a solid jacket but there are better options for backpackers and climbers (any breathable hardshell). And there are cheaper options for casual users (PreCip). The quality of this jacket is better than other TNF garments I have, and they clearly have thought about the wearer when designing it. The waist cinch is very nice and totally blocks the wind when tightened. The fleece around chin part of the hood is comfortable and all the zippers and zipper pulls are top notch, No complaints here. What gets me is the waterproof material used in this jacket. It's not breathable at all, yet it somehow manages to also not be waterproof either. I was backpacking in the Ozarks this past fall for my university and had been very happy with my jacket up until then. After all it does make for a very nice casual and stylish rain jacket. To my disappointment the jacket started seeping through after about 20 minutes of continual heavy rain. Not long after that my mid and base layers were also dampened from what I presumed to be my own perspiration. The pit zips helped immensely but unfortunately were not enough to make up for the awful breathability. All in all I cannot recommend this jacket for backpacking or climbing. You will be much much better off saving up a little bit more and buying a real hardshell jacket. For casual use this jacket is bomber. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up

I usually wear it when I run outside or maybe go out on a hike or something. The jacket is super thin so its not mostly viable for the east coast weather. Maybe I'll have to just return it!

The website photo and the actual product are two completely opposite things. The website shows a solid yellow jacket, but it arrived in a two-toned mix of odd yellows. This clearly isn't represented on the websites photos. Disappointed.

I bought this for my husband who recently started commuting to the city and walks about a mile to and from the train station and work. He is normally an L shirts, XL in sweaters that go over something. I got him the L in this and the sleeves are super long. The torso is a bit big but it would be good for wearing over layers in the colder months. I can't imagine him being a medium so we will keep this.

I was very surprised. I have 4 other NF products. However, this is the first NF product I was disappointed with. After a couple of years of casual use maybe 10-15 times in summer/autumn season the internal coating which presumably provides some of the waterproofing began to rub off. Literally rub off. The last time I wore it by the time I got home, about 20% of the coating had rubbed off. NF was great about swapping it out. But did not expect to see this kind of deterioration after approximately 50 hours of "mall coat" use.

I bought this for my son as a gift - but the size L honestly looked like an XL+. I had my husband try it on - he has many size Large North Face jackets - and this one looked more than a full size larger than I expected. He also noted the sleeves were very long. Yes, it's a "standard" vs. athletic cut - but it just seems like it's sized improperly. The jacket itself is a solid rain jacket/windbreaker - and the Urban Navy color is really great. I've returned this item and ordered the Dryzzle Jacket because it has a slimmer cut.

As I am 185 lbs. athletic build, but only 5'8, I tend to need a more precise fit that this does not offer. Based off the size chart I went with a Medium. Overall it fits OK but is definitely on the longer side and often gets stuck below my backside when I move up and down. My other gripe is the cuff style: the velcro is a cool idea, but the way the material needs to fold over under the wrist area is very annoying. I would've also liked the option to either tuck away or completely remove the hood as the Resolve 2 offers. Not sure why TNF can't make one jacket combining the two sets of features (removable hood, vented pit zips, etc.) . Ultimately, I would like to try the resolve 2 but since this was a Christmas gift and TNF retail outlets do not carry those, it looks like I'm stuck with this model.

I want to review this jacket, but I don't want to give negative feedback about it. I bought this jacket because I needed a good waterproof jacket for snowboarding. I usually don't like to wear traditional snowboard jackets because they are bulky. I should have paid more attention to the description, because I did receive the jacket as advertised, but I didn't and I was more than surprised when a received a very thin jacket that was basically just an expensive raincoat. Lesson learned and I returned the jacket and bought a tri-coat north face jacket.

I wore this product while hiking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. During my 500 mile trek I encountered many rainy days. The jacket did a good job of keeping the rain out, but I still got soaked due to perspiration. If I was standing still, it would have been great! Makes for a fantastic wind breaker, but poorly ventilated when under even moderate exertion.
