I liked the weight and quality of this neck gaiter but I couldn't seem to make it work for me. While skiing it wouldn't stay up they way I needed it to. I gave it to my husband and sons to try out. They also prefer lighter neck warmers than I do anyway. Although I'm entering the sweepstakes, this is an honest review. #sweepstakes.

This was a promo option and I think I'm going to like it a lot for its versatility. It's a lightweight wool, large enough to use doubled over as a somewhat warmer cap or as is for a lighter weight head cover.

Great for keeping your neck, mouth and nose warm for early morning walks with your dog. Can breath easily through it.

Looks nice. It's a gift for my daughter in law for Christmas. Can't respond yet. Love your socks so expect she will like it!

This was for my husband who likes how it keeps the wind out. He said it was a little itchy.

Perfect gaiter for those that run warm but want extra protection from the wind and every day nature of winter. The gaiter does run slightly tight. It is possible it will loosen over time.

I really loved the product, only downside for me it's the lenght. I find it a bit too long. Apart from this minuscule thing the product is the best neck gaiter I've ever got. It might sound weird, but recently I got my hair cut from about shoulder lenght to clipped. And the back of my neck got cold really easily while walking outside. The gaiter got me trough the transition from long, warm, protective hair to nothing to protect at all. It's warm but it's super breathable so I don't get sweaty under it. From that experience, I know that it's gonna super comfortable for skiing this winter. #SmartwoolLove

A little tight to pull over my head but keeps me warm in the Operating room . I also use it as a mask going from the car to the hospital and doing errands . Easier then remembering to bring a mask

I bought this as protection against Coronavirus. (I'm sure that no claims are made that this is its purpose, but that's why we got it.) My husband likes it because it stays up over his nose when he shops in the grocery store. That said, when I carefully washed it in the machine (in cold water) and then air-dried it, it twisted. For our purpose, it works fine. After the pandemic ends, he plans to use it as a neck gaiter, for example when sitting by the campfire on vacation for added warmth. It is well-made.

currently using as a face mask for public areas (although I hope to use it for recreational purposes eventually...). Works well for a mask as it can be worn around your neck and it provides coverage when not in use. when used as a mask, it can be pulled up over mouth and nose and it stays put. the material is somewhat thin and may be prone to pilling eventually. pattern is nice and sizing is as expected for one-size-fits-all.

Way too thin to be useful for any winter sports. Maybe a headband

Nice and comfortable, but needs more stretch if you want to wear in over the head or in anything but the traditional position.

nice color, lovely weight and soft but way too big to keep my neck warm. I have a long neck and it is not thick so perhaps this would fit someone else but it just laid around my collar bone.

I have mixed feelings about this. It's comfortable and the weight is nice but I was hoping for a longer gaiter that would provide significant cover to my neck even when pulled up partially over my face. The web site indicates its 17.5" long. It's actually a lot closer to 10", so it's marginal if you want to use it that way. Still deliberating whether I return it or not.

I have a couple of SmartWool merino gaiters from about 10-12 years ago that are still in decent shape (wow, YES!) but have a few holes in them from moths and whatnot. I have used them religiously all winter long all these years to keep my face and neck cozy on bike rides (5k miles/year, ride in temps down to the 20sF.). SO I thought, better come back to the source and get a couple of replacements. I saw that they made a "light" version and so I avoided that, figuring I'd get this one and it would be like my others. Sadly, not the case at_all. They do not block the wind in the least bit. Might as well wear nothing. Curious with these results, I weighed both the original (after 10 years of wear/wash) and these two new ones. The current version weighs 1 ounce; old weighs 2 ounces. This is ALL the difference in utility and cold-temp comfort. These new ones are good looking, but fairly useless for anything but a mildly cool day. I am colossally_disappointed that SmartWool has scrimped so much on quality. I also recently ordered a couple SW headbands and the results are the same: nice to look at but thin, and cold winds blow right through them like a sieve. Save your money; don't bother with these unless you require little to no warmth. I hope SW reads these and makes a warm gaiter similar to the old ones I have. I would buy 2-3 more of those ones!
