This zero drop shoe was recommended to me by my podiatrist to help with my Morton's neuroma and an achilles heel injury. Alas, while the shoe fit fine with a roomy toe box shaped like my foot rather than narrowed like many athletic shoes, the padding in the forefoot was not compatible with the issue I have with the neuroma. The shoe does take some getting use to because of a certain flat-footedness that results from the zero drop, but I didn't want to spend this much money and find that a week from now, my neuroma was still aggravated. Will try a different Altra style.

I really wanted to like these shoes, as they seemed, in print, to be able to solve my foot issues.
However, they are extremely narrow from the midfoot to the heel and I measure as an actual narrow.
I could feel the rigid support ring around my heels and my feet went over the edges of the shoe, causing pain. The toe box is awesome, though. I also felt the fit and finish on this shoe was lacking. No padding on the inside, just rough stitching and rough, scratchy material. I've already tried another style of Altras and will try one more before I give it up. I can't see how anyone with flat feet (these are supposed to help that) could wear these as your feet will spill over the edges. Thanks to Zappos for allowing me to continue to search for the perfect shoe for me!

If you're a person who "over-pronates", you wear out your shoes on the inside of your foot rather than the back (neutral pronation) or the outside of your foot (under-pronation) these are the shoes for you. I'm fairly neutral, so I noticed right away that these wouldn't be good for me. They're REALLY comfortable though, so I'm going to look for a different Altra shoe. There's room for your toes! And the Zero Drop feels wonderful!

Second pair! I love these shoes! I’m not a runner, but do workout every week day. I have MS, and Morton’s Toe. These shoes stop the pronation that comes with Morton’s Toe, and they are excellent help with proprioception. Son glad to have found Altra!

MORE Altra love! Read the reviews on the 3.0 vs the 3.5 Provision, and liked the look of these. Black is good for everything, and teal is one of my favorite colors. I have Morton’s toe, and therefore pronate. These shoes are absolutely perfect. I ordered a second pair just like, to have for the future... At some time I’ll try out the 3.5. Thank you, Zappos, for helping me find the right size and shoe! My toes (expecially the second, longer toe) thank you and Altra!

Have these shoes in another color and love them. They are more comfortable than any shoes I’ve had in a long time. They have plenty of toe room and are great for anyone with bunions.

Have been a believer in Altra Shoes for several years. The Provision model was the first shoe I ordered from Zappos. True to size - Always order a half to a whole size up from your traditional shoe size. Let your toes have room to move! True to width - Well, I actually have a narrow foot and have had to adapt to the Altra design. It takes a few days for the shoe to "break in" when it comes to lacing up and getting the "just right" fit, especially with a more narrow foot. Support - This is a totally different concept from traditional athletic or daily wear shoes. It can take some adjustment. But it's all good. Your feet will thank you for it! PS: I also wear the Altra Olympic for hiking and visits to mountain towns such as Asheville, NC; and the Paradigm. If you're looking for support + the zero drop concept these are the shoes to consider. Wishing you happy feet!

I have been wearing Altra Provision 2.0 and 2.5 in a size 8 which fits and feels great. I will be day hiking in the mountains and want a little extra length so my toes don't hit the end of the shoe when I go down hill. I got the Provision 3.0 in sizes 8.5 and 9. The 8.5 didn't seem any longer than my old shoes, so I compared the length of the insoles to those of the 2.0 and 2.5 in a size 8 and they are the EXACT same length. The insole of the size 9 is a little longer. I believe the size 9 will give the extra length I am looking for without being too big. As other reviewers have stated, the toe box of the 3.0 is not as roomy as the previous models, but that is not going to stop me from wearing them. They definitely are the shoe to wear for someone who over pronates. I got the black and teal color, but I will send it back for a lighter color.

OH. Happy. Day. Thanks to the well-written reviews on these shoes, I hoped they'd be what I needed to keep my Morton's Neuroma calmed down for walking. YES!!! They seem perfect. Ordered a half size larger, which is typical for me in athletic shoes, and they couldn't be more comfortable. I have narrow heels, average midfoot, and relatively wide toe splay. This design allows my toes to splay in their natural position, and there's no neuroma discomfort. I've NEVER had an athletic shoe so comfortable. And not only that, I ordered late yesterday afternoon at almost 5, and Zappos still had the shoes here today!! AMAZING!!! Zappos never disappoints, and so far, Altra doesn't either.

After ordering and returning so many shoes, sandals and sneakers, that were no longer wide enough for my foot - I hit the jackpot with this sneaker. Although it is marked a medium width, the extra roomy toe box was pure heaven and did not crush the sides of my feet together. I did read other reviews and went up a half a size and it is a perfect fit. And thank you Zappos for this great benefit of not only carrying my hard to find size but the free shipping and returns.

I've been wearing Altra shoes for about 5 years now. I found that the Provision 3 felt smaller than the 2.5 and I had to exchange the size 9 shoes for 9.5. The Altra band was recommended to me because of the wide toe box and I've been walking in them ever since. They are great shoes if you have bunions or other foot issues requiring a wider toe box. I walk on the average of 5 miles per day. I strongly recommend them.

After three pairs of Altras that eventually rubbed my heels raw, I finally figured out I needed to go a whole size up (9 to 10) to combat the heel slippage. The natural foot shape and zero drop were worth blisters, but now I'm truly in heaven. I can tighten the laces enough that my heels don't slip, there's plenty of room for my toes and my lower back and knees love the zero drop!
In the past, Provision has corrected my over pronation and I expect that this pair will too.
Perfect shoes for my feet!

Altra brand shoes have become my only athletic shoes. Within 2 weeks I am the proud owner of 2 pairs of Provision 3, and one pair of Lone Peak 3. For my feet, fit and comfort rate an A plus! (I gave away my eight pairs of Nikes.)

I have had 4 foot surgeries over the last year. My doctor recommended Altras and nothing else. I'm so glad he did. These shoes are awesome and I'm loving this style! I started with a cool pink and now have gone to my second pair in black....love them!

I love the wide toe box on Altra shoes. These feel slightly shorter than my Torin 2.5's, but not so much that I felt I needed to size up.

Thank you Altra for your zero drop shoes. I do not use the shoes for running as I am not a runner. Altra shoes have lessened my pain and given me back a more active life. I wear the shoes because I have Kyphosis and Spondylolisthesis in my back. It is difficult to stand upright or walk. The zero drop shoes help tremendously in my being able to stand upright and walk. This pair of Altra shoes helps with pronation.

Nice shoe, but I need a higher/deeper toe box. I normally wear 7-7.5. I ordered an 8 which fit just right, but for a work out shoe I like more toe room. Sadly will it be keeping.

I had wore the 2.5 and loved them. No more arch, heel pain. The 3's are not as comfortable, but did help guide the foot strike more, heel to toe. I just couldn't get used the side support on the heel cup. Just not the shoe for me.

These fit true to size and had nice room in the toe box. I did not like the "spongy" insole. I actually removed it and put a different one in and they felt better. The sole was very stiff also. So I decided to send these back and wear my Merrell hiking shoes to walk in.
