First time I used it was early one rainy morning sitting outside in my hot tub! Perfect and wasn't floppy so protected my shoulders too!

This hat is a tried and true champion of gear. Truly waterproof I have had it in all kinds of rain, snow, and sleet, the inside stays bone dry. My first impression when I put it on was the inner lining was super comfortable and the fit was exactly as listed online. I can see what some people are saying about it being warm in summer but I'm wearing it in December in Northern BC at -16 C wit her a light touque under it. My only audition I would add is a Rhe ability to have the back held up for when your driving or wearing a pack and a pocket for the string when you don't need/want it. These are small personal choices so I can't fault the product.

My wife & I have used these for years during out annual Alaskan fishing trips. Best rain hat you'll ever find!! This is my second as my 1st is over 12 years old. Not just an Ak fishing hat, I use it every time it rains/snows in the Northwest

it is just a great hat

Love it for walking in the rain in the Pacific Northwest. Stays put, keeps my face totally dry but does not impeded visibility. Sized up for thicker hair and more comfortable fit.

Amazing hat for rain, and it's super fun and iconic to wear. my kids think the canoe can only go fast when i have the tabs of the hat velcroed up in "fast mode". there's just so many ways to wear this hat! your friends will all be amazed when you walk into a room with this hat on and quickly demonstrate just how many ways you can wear this piece of haute fashion!

Always looking rad in a hat like this!

I purchased this hat at the beginning of the summer in preparation for a backpacking and sea kayaking trip in Alaska. Prior to the trip I only used it briefly during a couple of short hikes and didn't get a sense of how well it would perform in heavy rain conditions. However when I arrived in Alaska for a two week coastal backpacking and sea kayaking trip it became a permanent fixture on my head. It is comfortable in heavy to light rain conditions and hold its shape to shed water outside your coat. Once you get the sizing strap adjusted its a very comfortable fit.

At the range on rainy days this hat is a champ. While training it began to pour. Felt comfortable and dry in this hat with no issues.

My husbands had this hat for years and has liked it so much we got one for me too! Great hat for the river. Because of the lining, it gets warm on hot days, but other than that, it's a great hat!

The adjustable chin strap is fantastic and works really well to keep the hat on in windy conditions. It's a great colour and looks just like the picture. Works great in both rain and shine, so your covered for all you adventures! Very breathable which is great for hot days.

It's my favorite hat for sun protection

Great protection from the sun! Was worried it might be too warm in San Diego, but breathes great and gives great sun protection!

I have used this up on the trails shooting and at an outdoor NCAA track event! Worked great.

I'm a professional drone pilot and use this hat to shade my remote controller from the sun and reflections on the accompanying iPad used to control the system. It also provides excellent protection from the sun for me. I've had it for several years and it's been washed numerous times without losing its shape. Comfortable, foldable and great looking. I'm very satisfied with it and will buy another if it ever wears out.

Been wanting one of these for awhile. Wore it to a lacrosse game yesterday in the pouring rain and it kept my noggin nice and rry. Looking forward to wearing it hiking and other outdoor mischief I get myself into.

Great winter and fall outdoor activity hat

We have been wearing these hats for 25 years and they are the best rain hats ever. Perfect for TN hiking/kayaking, working outside, etc. They are a little warm for summer, but the rest of the year this is my go-to hat for wet weather. Only downside is not as great for rafting, because the wind blows the brim up on a windy day. Also, thanks for making an extra large. Most women's sun/rain hats are too small for my (apparently big) head.

Excellent for Wet or Cold weather. Especially useful fro those that wear Glasses, Keeps Sun and Rain off Glasses. Rim routes water past collar. Have 2 Now, would have 4 if OR made a Camo and All Orange Color. Best hat I have ever owned.

The only fault I have ever found in any of my seattle sombrero's is that after 15 to 20 years they wear out. I have bought about 10 of these hats over the years and they never let me down.

I'm a landscaper and wear my Seattle Sombrero daily. My first purchase is three years old and the only reason it was replaced is that the color on the very top had begun to fade a little. The practical purposes did not fade ... best protective hat on the planet when it comes to water and sun. I've gotten several comments after only a few weeks ... sporting Miami Dolphin colors as an Oakland Raider fan ... maybe do a black and silver someday? Outdoor Research has done their researching outdoors rather than indoors.
