I used this hat to climb Aconcagua and Everest. Best sun protection on the planet. Buy this hat. Love this hat, Thanks.

These are great above the treeline or in open desert to keep the sun off your face and neck. Super comfortable and fast drying. I've worn and washed my older one a bunch and it's still like new. The removable cape is a nice feature and turns it into a Swift style cap.
This hat is a must if you don't like sunscreen or forget to put it on!

My 12 year active son suffers from Erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP). In other words, his skin is 'very' sensitive to visible light. This hat is an absolute savior. Light, breathable, great coverage, and actually stylish. We live in Souther California. He wears this hat on the school playground and on all Boy Scout outings. He wear this hat more than anyone who has ever bought it. Good buy!

I used this hat ( the sun runner cap) for more than 2 weeks. I still had to add some sunscreen around the temples but otherwise a great hat. This is one of those hats that the brim does not get blown up by the wind exposing your face. Sorry about not posting a picture or video but I have this taboo that i will never post my picture anywhere on the web for obvious reasons.

The cap is very light weight and comfortable. You hardly know you have it on, except for the fact that your head is cool when everything else is hot. It is also "cool" looking. Other hikers ask about it.

Bought and used on a climb of Mount Saint Helens on a sunny day in the 80s. Sun is punishing on snow and this hat kept my neck and ears well protected from the sun even despite the wind. Not to hot like the Seattle sombrero which I've worn before for sun protection. It even looks fairly stylish with the cape attached.

I bought this hat mainly for sun protection while canoeing. However, I wear it just as much hiking without the shade attached now. I have used it extensively for one year and it is in good shape after many washings. The only flaw (minor at that) is mesh on the side is starting to pill. No holes though. It dries fast when it gets wet and is fairly cool on really hot days. It is great not to have to put sun screen on neck and ears while on the water.

My go to thru-hike cap, removable neck shade great for hitching into town to resupply. I hiked 12,000 miles, multiple thru-hiked, and even Walked Across America with this cap.

Traveling in the Andes includes risks to intense sun expsure. Get it. Wear it. Profit.

I absolutely LOVE this product. Combines style & practicality. I would love if it had an extra full face cover flap attached that could be easily worn up or down as needed. Buff style pull up face covers are suffocating & too hot. If anyone can make a comfortable stylish breathable face cover it is OR.
Last time I traveled outside the US I had a high five from a stranger who saw my OR hat & said: "Isn't this the best company" while showing me his OR pants. Keep up the great work OR.

I use it for hiking, sailing, deep sea fishing, diving, rock climbing. It fits well, cleans easily and love that you can take the neck part.

This hat is great when it's sunny and you're in an area with little to no shade. I don't recommend wearing it on hikes in forested areas, though, as the side flaps prevent airflow and keep your body heat in. I wear OR's Helios Sun Hat in those situations.

I love this hat. Lightweight, versatile, comfortable and reliable sun protection for running, hiking and climbing. Fits nicely under a helmet, too.

I'm often in direct Arizona sun for full or half day excursions. This protection is much appreciated and regularly used. I've had one other similar hat and the sun runner's materials make it easier to hear with the flaps down then the other.

I'm completely bald and have run in this hat for many years. I've never burnt through the hat like another reviewer suggests. I often run at 10k-12k feet for many hours in the hot Colorado sun. I honestly have no idea what that other reviewer is talking about. I use spf 50 everywhere else and the hat outperforms it every time.

This hat works great for most standard face-shading uses (lightweight, comfortable, extra long bill, great breath-ability and good wicking) but it is absolutely terrible at withstanding the impact of a 300lb+ chunk of rock falling from ~25 meters above it. As such, I would not recommend using this hat as a helmet substitution. Thank goodness that the hat was laying on the ground and not on my head when this product shortfall was discovered! Upon direct impact of the rock, the cap sustained severe damage to the mesh, bill and metal clip for attaching the neck protector. Surprisingly, the elastic band remained completely intact and the hat is still wearable, save for a gaping hole in the left side. Again, I do not recommend this cap be used in place of a helmet. For the sake of your brain matter, use the hat only for sun protection and not also rock protection.
