I live near the beach so I purchased this hat as protection for my ears, neck, face, etc. from the intense sun. I wear it mostly when walking and it has moderate ventilation which helps keep your head cool when working out/walking. The chin strap holds the hat on in all wind conditions and is quite comfortable to wear. I'm very happy with the hat hence the 5 star review.

I live in the desert. Been hiking in 100F weather. The hat helps a lot in keeping me cool and not going blind. Actually can feel a breeze on my head. Very pleased with my purchase. Only thing that some may not like is the brim can't be molded. It is what it is.

Amazing! Changed my life as a roofer

This hat fits well and provides excellent sun protection. It breathes well, which is essential on hot days and during aggressive hikes. The chin strap secures the hat in high winds and makes it easy to stow the hat slung behind my back when tree-cover makes the had unnecessary. And the curry color is a nice fashion statement!

Excellent hat and true to size. My partner has a large head circumference (I was going to say "has a big head" but that's got a few too many meanings...) and this hat fits him very well. We ordered based on the size measurements provided and they worked perfectly. I had purchased this as a replacement hat for one that's falling apart, but he likes this one so much it's now his "good" summer hat and another one was downgraded to the replacement. We've had a hard time finding hats that fit so this was a lovely find.

Great fit, plenty of shade

There is nothing bad about this hat. It's lightweight, brim has great coverage, holds its shape well even after being thrown into a bag and floats when it falls off you head while you're paddling because you didn't use the chin strap! Lol. The vents are small but my head doesn't seem to get too hot while wearing it. Also great for keeping the rain off my glasses when I'm hiking and the clouds open up!

Very light, fits snugly, and provides wonderful shade for hot sunny days. Perfect for any use.

Light , durable and comfortable

I've been looking for a wide brim sum hat that breathes well for kayaking. Straw hats don't Hold up well around the water and most other wide brim hats don't breathe well so I overheat. Looking forward to this paddling season with this hat. The OR Swift hat is my go to summer hat, but sometimes I need the added sun protection of a wide brim hat. This hat is very comfortable and breathes well.

Great sun hat for the Arizona heat. I do a lot of work outside (we have a small ranch), and the Sombriolet is extremely comfortable and lightweight. Does a good job of deterring the gnats when I'm in the garden and out in the corrals. And when I'm out reading or doing some crafty thing out by the pool, this provides the perfect shade without having to perch under an umbrella. I originally order a medium, based on my western hats, but it was a tad too snug, so I returned and got the large. The hat has an adjustable band cord so I'm able to tighten or loosen as needed. Love it! A great alternative to my western straw hats. I'm glad I purchased it.

Excellent breathability.

Wide brim keeps the sun out. Vents allow for keeping cool. Pretty decent protection for a light rain showers.

My favorite beach hat. Perfect for kayaking, and beach combing!! I love it!! Its a little to big for my hiking style but an awesome protective hat!!

I love this lid! It is very durable against the wind in SWFL and provides a good shade. The vented cap is awesome! The sweat band definitely absorbs brow sweat. Very impressed.

I was a bit nerdily excited about this hat for extra sun protection and breathability on a multi-day hike (if only we got more sun!). I was right in between the medium and large sizes, so I went with a large. I could have gone with medium, however there is the ability to adjust the tightness so all is well! It didn't bump up against my pack too much either.

Outdoor activities

Used in Death Valley and Valley of Fire State Park on our vacation to Las Vegas. It held up and protected our group in full sun 115 degree temps for hours. Would definitely recommend and buy again.

These are such good hats--great sun protection and though not made for it, they're reasonable rain protection too. Always have this on my head or in my pack.

Just a wonderful sun hat.

I use the hat to protect my iPad screen from sun glare as I fly sUAS. It is perfect for this application, light and breathable, pliable and well designed. I've owned it for a number of years and would most certainly buy it again.
