Too wide, very floppy shoes, but otherwise comfortable

I've been a loyal follower since 2006. This shoe is lacking in the traditional fit and comfort. It's like they forgot the arch support in these. Tried on several, settled on these, and they are not like they used to be. Won't be wearing them much.

Too wide and stiff. Did not find it as comfortable as all my other Merrill shoes.

I wore these for my usual 3-mike walk, with an excellent quality sock, and they have no give or cushioning fit the front half of the foot. My feet literally throbbed after the walk. I called Merrell to see about returning them and was told that "Merrell does not guarantee comfort". REALLY? I have worn Merrell shoes for at least 15 years, but no more. They have lost a loyal customer.

My Merrell Moab shoes are 10 years old and still look and feel good, but thought an upgrade might be nice. Boy was I wrong. This newer version is very uncomfortable and a lot bulkier than my older Moab shoes. I can feel every pebble when I walk because there's no cushion in the footbed or side support. I plan to buy special insoles to see if that helps the crappy footbed. I'm a 7.5 M and that's the size I bought, at least the sizing stayed the same. Such a shame they messed up a good thing. Newer is not always better.

Sadly - The Merrells are too wide for my narrow foot!
I had to reluctantly return them:(
Hopefully in my next life - I'll be sporting a B WIDTH SIGH!

I’ve been buying moab’s for the last three pair. This particular pair, the left one fits, the right one feels like a size smaller. Both are labeled the correct size. I’ll have to return them.

What happened? I own a pair of these for the last four years and they are perfect. This new pair, while my foot fits the bottom part of the shoe base inside, the top is so loose I have to tighten it to the point of wrinkles, I trip because the sole catches on my pants leg, and the sides feel so much less padded. But a different size would hit my toe or my foot would overlap the footbed.
They are AWFUL
What a waste of money and Merrell is ruined for me

I've been purchasing Moab Ventilators for over 15 years and they WERE great hiking shoes. These new Moabs do not have the quality of the previous ones. They used to be made in Vietnam. Now they are made in Cambodia. The sizing is much too large both in length and width...off by almost a complete size. I can't wear them even with several layers of sox.

Sadly, I waited too long to return this particular pair wearing them about 5 times inside the house... I believe they were too small to begin with but all my other Merrill's are the same size. I will be donating them to a used clothing store in town. I bought another pair today of a different style. I disagree with all the reviews and actually reviewed several comments.

I replaced my 5 year old Moab 2 waterproof with these Moab 2 ventilator. My aching feet. No support in the front toe box like the old pair. too roomy and my metatarsalgia is a huge problem. Ball of the foot pain off the charts. Which I had sent them back.

It is actually too wide and not comfortable to wear. I am very disappointed because the last pair I had I wore all over Europe and loved

I used to experience complete happiness with a new pair of Merrells out-of-the-box. Now, I need to ask: Why did you take the Q-form out of these shoes? I've worn these shoes for more than a decade, but when you changed platforms, these shoes became seriously uncomfortable. The insole is hard as a rock and the shoes hurt my knees now--never happened before with a Merrell. So sad. I will have to go find a new company--maybe Oboz or Salomon. I am just crushed.

I tried on dozens of shoes a few years ago to find the perfect fitting hiking shoe, which was the Moab. They've finally started to wear after many miles, so I ordered/tried on several iterations of the new shoes - both ventilator and waterproof, ankle and non, several sizes near my old size... AND NOTHING FITS. The toebox tightness/heel space combination just doesn't work for me. I'm truly devastated. Please bring back the old shoe, I can't suffer trying dozens of different shoes again.

I just placed an order and did not get confirmation. I keep looking and I'm not getting anything. I had problems trying to place the order and finally got it to go through and then got no confirmation. Tried to do the chat and was told no one was there.

I've been wearing Merrells for more than a decade. All previous pairs of "Moab"-style shoes were perfect out of the box...I could put them on day 1 and walk for miles. The most recent pair, purchased Dec. 2019, were really cramped in the toe box and I couldn't wear them for more than 10 or 15 minutes inside the house. I exchanged them for the same size, but wide width in January 2020. These wider-width ones fit better but are so hard and stiff that I can only wear them for a max. of 30 minutes and only on flat terrain, then I have to wait three or four days for my feet to heal before I can try wearing them again. I'm not sure what changed about these shoes but they're certainly not what they used to be. Pretty disappointed that my favorite shoes are no longer my favorite shoes.

The old version was much better these are like clown shoes on. Bought the same size as my original pair and these were way to big.

I've been buying Merrell shoes forever. I received my order to discover the shoes were badly sewn. The side was already ripping. I returned the shoes promptly and still have not received my refund (2 weeks ago). What is happening to this company.

The material seems to be cheaper made. I got a pair of these for myself and my boyfriend for Black Friday. The bottom slip grip technology of the shoes has made wet conditions very dangerous. When coming from outside to in the shoe is very slippery. I fell down the stairs twice and he fell just walking into our tiled kitchen. Our feet were only slightly wet from coming in and had we been wearing different shoes we wouldn't have slipped. Now we have to be super careful when we choose to wear these. We have been wearing and swearing by Merrell for 3 years but i would be weary to buy another pair of MOAB for fear the quality has gone down across the board.
