Having fallen in complete love with my first Merrells, Moab 2 Midhigh waterproof shoes, I excitedly ordered Moab 2 Ventilators in the same size without trying them on first. They hurt!

These shoes are extremely wide, even though they are identified as medium width.

This shoe was heavy and a bit rigid. It felt too clunky. I thought it would be much lighter, seeing it's called 'Ventilator'. I am always a size 10.5 but this one was big. Too much of an overbuilt feeling! Sent it back.

I so wish these shoes had fit. They seem to be of good quality, but unfortunately, they didn't explain that these shoes run at least half a size large and the medium width is really large width.

Not a good fit for my feet. Although a wide toe box, the overall support wasn't there for me. The color and material were very nice.

I have high hope on this hiking shoes after reading all the reviews. However, I am kind of disappointed after trying them on. The side of the feet are a bit tight and the toes boxes have a lot of room. Since the shoes run a bit large, I need to put on thinker socks to reduce the discomfort of the toes boxes.

I have had three previous pairs of Merrell hiking boots/shoes, but these have a horizontal seam in the back of the shoe that gives me blisters. I've tried different socks, gels pads, etc. to no avail. I'm bummed!

I put a lot of miles on my shoes and Merrell is the only brand I wear. When it came time to get a new pair, I couldn't find the Siren Sport that I absolutely loved, so went for my second fave, the Moab. They are heavy and clunky and not very flexible, and have given me blisters! I have NEVER gotten blisters with Merrell shoes before, EVER. So these shoes have really disappointed me.

Just purchased these - comfortable right out of the box - went on a hike this weekend and over ice they were SUPER slippery! I actually took them off and walked up the hill in my socks...others I was with had traction on their shoes :( I'll be returning them this week.

I contacted you for a more cushioned insole and was recommended the Elite which I bought. Still too rigid and hard. Miss my older ortholite insoles you used to sell. Very disappointed I'll have to replace insole with competitor.

I have been wearing Moab low-cut waterproof shoes size 6.5W for years. LOVE them. I have recommended them to friends who thank me for pointing them to Moabs. This year, I bought the ventilator for the first time for summer hikes. I expected them to fit just like the Moab WP, so I put them on and hiked five miles. Unfortunately, size 6.5W is too big. Blisters! I am so disappointed. Thicker socks are not the answer as they defeat the purpose of having a summer shoe. Now, my ventilators are sitting in my closet until I can figure out what to do with them.

Merrell has changed the footbed in the Moab 2, and it caused pressure on the soles of my feet and the arch area, which caused my plantar faciitis to flare up. The old Moab was the most comfortable shoe I ever wore. So sorry Merrell felt that they needed to improve on the original, because they made it worse instead of better. Sadly, I'm returning this shoe.

I really wanted to love these, but at a size 8,they were bigger, stiff and for walking..well they didn't help.it kept pulling my socks down, they did not have any cushion, and I ended up with blisters..very disappointed.

I have to agree with the reviewer who compared these to "wearing the shoe box". I'm not concerned about looks, but they have no shape whatsoever and slip right off my heel. If you have wide feet, these might work, because they are certainly roomy all around.

I bought the Merrel brand because you can usually just put them on and walk all day. Not this style. I know they are hiking shoes and need to be sturdy but they also need to adapt to terrain. I will buy Merrels again but am returning this style.

I buy Merrell all the time but thought I would try these. Most people with wide feet don't like to accentuate their feet. Why do you make the toe shield such a contrasting black and not something that will blend in more, It makes it look like a heavy manly steel toe factory shoe rather than a hiking shoe. Cant you make it a matching non contrast color. ? Im sending them back and going with the lighter and more sleek looking siren sport .

I've been wearing Merrell hiking shoes for years - originally a style no longer made, then went with the Moab. I wear them daily, and buy 2 new pairs every year, year and a half. The Moab 2 is a redesigned shoe - the heel cup is a different shape, the upper is also different, and my foot is held differently so the arch support is off and the whole thing is uncomfortable. I used to be able to wear them right out of the box. Now, not at all. I am extremely disappointed. I don't understand why the redesign. On Zappo's there are a number of women saying the same thing - I didnt believe them until I got my pair today. So, now I am no longer a Moab wearer, after, what, 10 years? 15?

I have ordered Moab Ventilators for years, and been very happy with them. Unfortunately, Merrell changed the instep to make the arch higher. The shoe is now very uncomfortable -- for me at least. Fortunately, the Moab Gore-Tex shoe is still comfortable.

New Moab 2 design is bulky and lacks ventilation. Feel more like GoreTex/waterproof. As always, the support and traction are superior. I have worn out at least twelve pair of various shoes from the Moab collection. This is the first pair I will not replace.

It was time to replace my favorite old Merrell Avian Light Ventilator shoes which have lasted for several years. When I saw this particular shoe, I fell in love with the look and it's specifications. I just received them today and was so disappointed by the fit. I normally wear size 7.5 and my old Merrells fit like a glove. I ordered the same size and came to find that my toes were literally swimming in the toe area. No support. Feels like you can fit 5 extra toes in each shoe. Not really but you get the hint.

Awful, awful, awful! Worst shoes I've every owned! No arch support at all, NO cushioning at all! They hurt the feet as there is no give or stretch to them and they're very heavy feeling. Such a waste of money, I recommend just getting running shoes for hiking, I would never buy a Merrell hiking shoe again.

Not the shoes Merrell used to be! The shoes feel terrible. The sole and design is not what Merrell has been for years. Why change a good thing?! Feels like you're walking on concrete no support or traction. My old Merrells felt good out of the box! These will never break in! Please use the same design and material as before. Cheap shoe brands feel better which is not saying much!!!!
