I have purchased Merrell Moab for years, but this last pair seems to be manufactured differently in the heel and slips when I walk. Fits great everywhere else. I may have to return and find a new favorite hiking shoe.

Stiff and uncomfortable. Not very cute, either.

I have been wearing and loving merrell boots and shoes for years. It was time for a new pair of hiking shoes, so I ordered the Moab ventilator in my solidly normal size 9m. They look just as great as merrell s always do but it fits way too large. I have checked and rechecked to make sure it is the correct size. It is too long and too wide in the toe. Maybe it's mismarked, but they have to go back. Disappointed.

I have had 2 pair of 8.9 wides in the past. For some reason the new pair felt very wide so exchanged for a medium. Very water proof. I wear them on rainy walks here in the NW.

Because I have small feet I am forced to buy women's shoes, and I have been buying these for three years now. They're tough, they last a while, and they always fit great right out of thE box. But I'm wondering what happened to them. This time, they are killing me, my toes are jammed, my heels are squealing, and they are just overall uncomfortable. I've been trying to break them in, which I've never had to do before. And yesterday I ended my hike halfway through because my toes have gotten too blistered to hike in them. Around the house is fine, but on my hikes, they're brutal. Did you change the fit or something? They are the same exact shoe I have relied on for three years up until now and my weight and size haven't changed. I don't get it.

I was very excited to receive these shoes. A friend of mine recommended this brand and style to me. Unfortunately, when I tried them on they were wide in the heel and the insoles were raised partly on the arch and on the heel. My foot kept slipping out of the shoe no matter how tightly they were laced and the raised insole on only part of my arch was not comfortable. I will be returning these shoes for a different style.

I love the quality of this product and the support. I just wish there would have been a warning that they do run half a size large.

I ordered a wide width as that usually works best for me. The shoes were too big, and the left foot significantly longer than the right. I never got to use them.

The toe box is perfect, however, the heel is far too large to stay on my foot.

The Moab has been the only shoe that I can wear over the last 2 years due to some foot issues. It was time to get another pair but when I tried it on, something was different. It felt tight in the toe box and the worse part, they changed the insert material. It is now a different material that is hard, less flexible and doesn't cushion the foot. I was fortunately able to find an older version at a local outdoor store but I don't know what I'm going to do when I need to replace that one. I literally wear this shoe everywhere and I might have to start my search over for another brand.

I really wanted to love these shoes but after walking around the house for 30 minutes I felt a bump of sorts right across the middle of my food; as if the "arch support" had a piece of wood across it. I added a sport shoe insert and for a few minutes that seemed good, but not enough for me to keep wearing them. I've had this experience with relatively inexpensive sandals or flats but did not expect it from Merrell. Have to return. :(

I want to love these and at first glance I really did. I'm a hard to fit size for a woman, 11 WW (when I can find it) but after reading the reviews I gave them a try. The 11 W really fit perfectly out of the box! And I didn't think this particular boot could ever be called cute but they are, especially like the Smoke color. I've been looking for something besides the typical white sneakers I usually buy for an upcoming vacation where we'll be walking a lot on pavement. These truly are comfortable-fitting and not as heavy as you'd think they'd be. BUT the footbed is very very hard, not cushiony at all and I even tried them on with thick socks. I'm going to try them around the house again tomorrow for a final determination, maybe think about replacing the footbed with something else but for this price I expected more cushioning, especially since they're primarily a hiking boot. The jury's out, I really want to love them and I can't believe that I found a pair of good-looking, durable perfect-fitting shoes with just one (big) flaw.

Fit well, but the arch support is in the wrong area of my foot, as other reviewers noted. It’s back too far. Sneakers were not comfortable for the first two days of use. After they broke in, they felt better. Merrell’s quality has lessened. I’ve owned other Moabs and these are not the same. Very disappointing.

I originally purchased the medium/normal width. I don't have wide feet but the 15 minutes I wore them they hurt the balls of my feet. I purchased the wide width ones (unfortunately my size in wide had to be a different color due to not in stock of original color shoe) The wide width seems okay. I have worn them twice for about 20 minutes stretches now. I do like the arch support in them. Though they are very heavy, I will have to see in the next week or so if going to keep them or send back.

These seemed like the right size for my wide feet. But the arch support was very aggressive and strange. Unfortunately, I have to return them.

My praise to Merrell for color schemes! Attractive, low key colors are terrific. But I've been wearing TechAmphibians through three or four updates, over ten years' time. Loved the light weight, quick tie, cool mesh surfaces and the low key colors. Salomon doesn't offer many low key colors these days, too bad. These Merrell Moabs are too heavy for what I'm looking for. I'm also kinda hooked on the quick tie thing on the Salomons. I'll keep looking.

Bough a pair of these to replace my well-loved Mesa Ventilators which (very sadly) are no longer made. Those shoes fit so perfectly, but I thought it might be time to go for a new pair (after 10+ years and THOUSANDS of miles!). I bought the Mesas as a replacement, but was not impressed. The arch is in the complete wrong place on my foot. I had to go up a half size to get the arch where it should be, and then the toe box is so big, I feel like my toes are swimming around. I don't think I will keep them... I might have to find a different brand of shoe, which kills me because I love the dependability of my Merrells! For me, the worst part about all of this is that I donated my old pair and now wish I had them back! I'm sure they have another five years in them, and I'm out a pair of good shoes. At least someone else got a used pair that will last a good while...

I wear an 8 wide and have trouble finding hiking shoes that fit. So I was excited that these fit perfectly, BUT, there was something odd in the heel area. It seems like there is a rise on the instep side of the heel which threw off my posture. In minutes my hip and knees hurt. I have had both knee and hip problems so there is a very good chance its my problem but they did not work for me. They are very attractive and wide enough so I'm disappointed. Also, I'm not a fan of hiking or running shoes that have too much of a rocker effect in the toes and these don't so that would have been great for me too. I would heartily suggest trying these shoes if you have wide feet- maybe they will work for you!

The only reason I returned these shoes is that they were very heavy. They'd be great for hiking, but I needed something lighter.
