This is my second pair of Merrell Moab's. The first pair are high-tops which I wear around the farm; this new pair is for casual wear. Comfortable right out of the box. Lots of wiggle room for my toes and good cushioning in the sole. I like that they are flat with not much heel, so my feet don't try to slide forward and crunch my toes.

Good fit -- nice to find it in a W online since local stores just don't stock them. I was able to go a half-size down from the 9Ms I typically have to settle for when I buy locally. Structure is good -- vast improvement over the garbage Siren Sport 2, about comparable to the original Siren Sport.

These shoes are amazing! I normally wear a size 12 but the size 11 fits perfectly. The support is awesome. Wore them on a 15 mile hike and no blisters or sore feet.

Hiked the infamous Camelback mountain for the first time. Almost 3 hours of climbing. This was my first time to wear the shoes and I have no complaints! Didn’t need breaking in at all!

Great shoes! Very lightweight and comfortable, good support for walking and hiking. I have wide feet so my go-to shoe for years has been Keens, which I love - but I liked the style of these Merrill's and decided to give them a try. Glad I did, they fit really well (I bought a W) and have a nice feel of structure and support at the heel. I wear an 8 and ordered both 8 and 8.5. I kept the larger size to wear with heavy socks for hiking, but am thinking I probably should have gone for the 8 as the shoes have relaxed a little breaking in- so I would say these are very much true-to-size.

I've been wearing the Moab Vent size 8.5 medium for years. I read a few reviews about the Moab 2 Vent that led me to believe that the sizing was off. I didn't find that to be true for me. The new 8.5 feels the same, and fit right out of the box. I always take out the factory insole and replace it with Superfeet Green insoles, and did so for my new ones as well. The arch feels the same to me with the Superfeet. If I have any suggestions for improvement, it would be to offer this shoe in a few more colors. I always end up with the Smoke, which I like, but a charcoal or medium brown might be nice. I live in a rain forest in Alaska, and all of my shoes end up the color of dried muskeg eventually.

I wore them all day right out of the box. I have wide feet and messed up toes so I ordered a wide. My feet weren't squished and my toes weren't cramped. Can't wait to get them on the trail! Look good too!

Ordered 1/2 size larger because I hike mountain terrain. A little extra length is needed for the downhill trek. Also ordered Wide. Toe box is very roomy & comfortable. Looking forward to living in these hikers!

I've tried other hiking boots and shoes, but I always return to the Moab. I have the mid- version, the water-proof version, and this one. They are perfect for my foot, and I love the relatively wide toe box. And orthotics fit in perfectly. Thank you, Merrell!

Great for hiking. I have a wide foot at the toe box and normal at the heels. The wide version of this toe box almost seemed too wide for me, but I kept them anyway because the heel fit was perfect. No breaking in, took them for a 3 mile moderately rocky and inclined hike and my feet never once hurt. Excellent traction and my feet didn’t overheat.

Because I have such a wide foot, I could comfortably order a M width and they fit fine. I also like the lower profile as the hiking shoes I've worn in the past have bothered my ankle which is always a little bit swollen. This is my second pair and I could see ordering this particular style for years to come.

These hikers fit my wide feet perfectly. I thought they may need some break-in period, but in fact, they don't. They were comfortable from day one! Within five days of arrival I was walking 5+ miles/day in the city and countryside during vacation. No problems at all.

I really like Merrill shoes, great quality and this boot was a very comfortable fit, with enough room with a medium weight sock. Plenty of toe width too. I decided the boot was too bulky for the light hiking I usually do.

These Sneakers surpass the comfort zone. I have purchased from Zappos before and I have purchased these sneakers as well in the past. I cannot tell you how comfortable the Moab by Merrell are. Very soft inside as well as ventilated enough for comfort. They wear well and last. Zappos has a great exchange system, if needed and extremely courteous helpers to assist your needs. I am not paid for this, just a satisfied customer!

Merells are a bit more shoe than I am used to but I'm quite sure that I made the right decision. They are with me on safari in Southern Africa and performing admirably.

I usually order full size up from my normal shoe size to accommodate a full orthotic and I found it was adequate and left enough room for thicker socks if needed. But I did end up returning the shoe because of how it seem to gap a bit around my shins and I was afraid it would allow dirt and pebbles to get in. I did not expect it to be so boxy and heavy.

I liked the looks of the Moab 2 Vent but they were a tad too short in the length and slightly wider in the toe box then my go to Salomons Speedcross 4. I have narrow feet and finding a good show to hug my foot can be a challenge.

UPDATE to an earlier review: 10W shoes were too narrow and exchanged for 10.5W. They felt a little long initially but are actually fine -- no problem there. They worked okay for short walks, but after my first real hike... too narrow. This is the widest hiking shoe Merrell makes, and it's the widest brand I've tried so far. Not sure what else to try... :-(

I have the Merrell Moabs 1......and they fit perfect. The Moab 2 seems to have changed and feel wider and longer than the originals.

These were comfortable out of the box. The toe area is wide, so makes the shoe feel a little bigger than normal and once they softened up, I quickly wished I had ordered a 1/2 size down. That said, they are sturdy, comfortable and have great arch support - important for my daily hikes.

First I have to admit that I do have a problem with my feet, so as not to blame Merrell. These hikers are great for anyone whose feet tend to "turn" or twist while walking. I noticed that my feet tend to turn in and they weren't able to do that with these hikers. Also, they almost forced my foot into it's correct position, thereby improving my overall balance and posture. The only thing I didn't like was that they don't feel like they have any cushion inside at all. The sole is very hard so I have put some padded insoles in them, but they still feel hard. That could be due to my problem with my feet so please don't hold that against the shoe. Give them a try, you'll be happy you did!

Wide toe box which was good for me without having to resort to "wide" shoes which never fit properly. These were comfortable except the right boot had a hard protrusion that hit the arch of my foot in a way that caused immediate pain. These are very boxy looking which is fine with me, but may be an issue for others.

Comfortable right out of the box. Accommodates my orthotics perfectly. Medium width has roomy toe box - but not too wide that my feet move all over. Nice grip on soles. Great walking shoe.

I really wanted to like this shoe. It has a roomy toe box (which tends to be my challenge in finding hiking shoes) and great support. Unfortunately, my heel slips slightly with every step. I would imagine after a few miles, I would end up with blisters on my heel. So, back they go.
