I am writing for my husband as I bought these for him. We are Merrill wearers and he says these are his favorite pair to date. Comfortable, sturdy and didn't have to break in. Great shoe and highly recommend. We are big trail hikers and these are perfect.

Purchased these as a gift for my husband. He was thrilled from the moment he put them on! He has wide feet, and the fit was "perfect"! He has worn Merrels before, and prefers them over any other brand of hiking shoe.

These fit and were perfect right out of the box. Next day I did a 8 mile hike with no problem I would recommend this boot to anyone that hikes/walks long distances. I do all of my hiking around the Las Vegas NV area.

This is my fourth pair and I am a former police officer and registered nurse! They have taken me to the front lines of the fight against COVID-19, to hiking with my wife, white water rafting, running, hunting, church, and family functions. "THEY ARE A SHOE MADE TO HANDLE EVERYTHING THAT IS MADE TO FIT EVERYONE."

I'm looking for a pair of shoes to hike the Appalachian Trail this March. Bought these and a pair from a competitor. I put these on and immediately determined that these were the shoes I want for the trail. They felt completely broken in when I got them. I've worn them on multiple trips ranging from 8.5- 15 miles and love them. My only issue is that the size seems to run a bit small. I've ordered another pair in the next size up.

I purchase these shoes every year for my husband. He states they are very comfortable and wears them all the time. He had hiked the Appalachian Trail 7 years ago in the Moab 2 Ventilators. He is currently preparing to hike the Florida Trail which is going to be a wet hike. He plans to be wearing these shoes. These shoes are not water proof, but he said when they get wet, they dry rather quickly.

This is my 5th pair. Extremely well designed. Plenty of arch and traction support. Cool ventilated mesh is perfect for "hot feet".

I take one of two pair of Merrell shoes with me to walk the dogs on trail in my area. If it's wet I take the Yokotas. If it's dry I take my Moab 2. They can handle any conditions in extreme comfort. I love both pair.

I wear my 2nd pair of Merrell Men's Moab 2 Ventilator (Wide Width) on a daily basis. I walked over 3000 miles in less than 2 years wearing my 1st pair. In the last few months I acquired my 3rd pair... I like them that much, however my 3rd pair, still brand new and in the box shall remain so until my 2nd pair wears out. That may be awhile. I cannot possibly reduce my review to a five word one-liner and have you understand why I believe what I think about these shoes, accordingly, I make no apologies about the length of my review because I have so enjoyed and appreciate what's being reviewed. About 40 years ago I was employed by a worldwide footwear manufacturer, working at its local production plant in the product development department, where, as a footwear stylist and technical designer, I became acquainted with just about every type of shoe and boot style one could imagine. More common and popular styles included CVO (circular vamp overlay), Gibson, Lace To Toe, Pumps and the style upon which Moab 2 Ventilator is fashioned, called U Throat. Why U Throat? Because when you look at such a shoe from the front, the opening which provides adjustability to accommodate a wide range of the same sized foot is in the shape of the letter U. Despite my knowledge of footwear, years later there was still more for me to learn and I did so with my 1st pair of shoes from Merrell. I've included 5 photos, each numbered for easy identification to illustrate what I learned. Walnut is the color of my 1st pair with Beluga the 2nd, explaining why the colors don't match in the side by side photos. I suppose most manufacturers would prefer to see pictures which put their product in a good light which is why I hesitated to include Photos 4 and 5, showing how the toe cap / mud guard of my 1st pair became warped and split. Look closely at Photo 5, the mesh above the split has torn as well. Understand this image does NOT depict a product that has failed or worn out, but rather depicts how I damaged my 1st pair of Moab 2 Ventilators. Have a look at Photos 1 - 4 to compare how repeated upward lace tugging changed the size of the U Throat opening and its shape, so much so that the toe cap / mud guard permanently buckled and warped. Also note the difference between the lace in Photo 3 and Photo 4. One is relaxed and loose while the other is tight and taut. By not relaxing the lace at the throat base of my 1st pair I effectively removed width from across the toes of my Wide Width Ventilators and in time, that created friction against my foot, stressing the materials literally to the breaking point. I average no less than 3.5 miles a day walking for fitness on a local Trail so it would have been easy enough to go looking for a different style of shoe, perhaps one made by a different manufacturer to replace my 1st pair of Ventilators given how they broke down and wore through... but I'm glad I didn't, after all, repeat business is how a company builds its reputation to the good, isn't it? I may have never learned what I discovered had I switched to another brand and in the process, walked away from a really great product (pun noted). When first time customers don't return you have to wonder why. Price? Quality? Value for the money? Truth be told, 'value for the money' is price and quality rolled into one, isn't it? This little discovery I made about lace relaxation made all the difference and made me a repeat Merrell customer which is why I believe the Company will have no problem publishing my rather long and visual review. Long story short, from the moment I put on my 1st pair of Merrell Moab 2 Ventilators, even before I laced them up they just felt right. Effortless to walk in, obviously comfortable to wear, they keep my feet dry and given the number of miles I got out of my 1st pair they are well worth the money. That's my story. I learned my lesson and now routinely loosen lace tension at the base of both shoe's throat openings so that the same thing doesn't happen to my current pair. And like I said, I have another pair ready to go when the ones I'm wearing eventually wear out... but that probably will be when this pair has more than 3000 miles on them.

This is an awesome shoe and a true wide width. I need the wide width due to several foot issues and this one delivers. They have great arch support. This is my go to shoe for every day walking. I also have Moabs in the Gortex waterproof trail shoe and the boot style. The Vibram soles are great, especially on rocky trails. While the uppers are very durable, they will inevitably wear out with daily use. When they do, the Vibram sole shoes no wear at all. Please do not change this shoe. I've bought three pairs and will buy more.

The Moab 2 Ventilator is my second Merrell product, the first being their hiking boot, which is still going strong after 4 years of extensive hiking. I use my newer, low-cut version for walking on urban streets and tracks. Great for excessive pronators such as myself, and their durable Vibram outsoles last and last and last

Awesome shoe. I'm on my third pair of the same shoe. I put on over 160 miles a month at work and these are the only shoes I can find that are comfortable all day long.
