Love the arch support and fit of these shoes. I recommend the vent version over the waterproof as the waterproof making noises like they are filled with plastic bags.

This is my 7th or 8th pair of Moabs over a decade or so. They've changed them a little but they still work well for my troublesome feet in combination with aftermarket 'Sole' brand orthotic footbeds in place of the factory insole.

I have worn (and worn out) 2 pairs of Moab Ventilators in the past 10 years. I now had pretty bad neuropathy in my feet due to genetic Diabetes, and I have to be very careful when I choose shoes. I tried "Orthopedic" shoes, and not only were they crap, they were buut ugly as well. Then I thought, "Why not try a ventilator in a wide size?" Best decision I have made in a long time! I am a life-long merrell customer for sure!

these merrell's fit the same as the rest of the merrells i own, perfect!
wanted a low cut boot for the summer at work and i find these to be a bit sturdier than the 'all out blaze' i wore last summer.(still fine by the way)
usually just wear this brand all the time for the fit and comfit they offer.
zappos shipping is THE fastest around!

Only feature of this shoe that bothers me is the sole rubber is a little to soft especially at the strikeout on the heal. The heal is the first spot to wear out so it would make sense to use a more substantial rubber. Vibram soles used to be reliable for minimum lifespan of 5-7 years, now not so much. I've owned more than a few pairs of these and wish they were resoleable or a better quality (harder rubber). The uppers outlast the soles and the insoles could use an upgrade as they are pretty thin considering the quality of construction Merrell is known for.

This is the 2nd pair of Merrell shoes I have purchased. Here are my Pros and Cons on the Ventilator.
Pros:
1. Extremely comfortable.
2. A light weight shoe for hiking/backpacking.
3. Soles have very good traction.
4. Removable inner sole for cleaning and airing out.
5. Good construction, seem to be very durable.
6. Lace material is nice and they stay tied.
The only Con on this shoe, is the inner shoe material. It is a fleece style material, that while is soft and comfortable, it picks up and retains debris. They have a bad problem with small plant materials, such as cedar needles, pine needle tips, small plant burrs and other items, getting lodged into the material. This in turn causes the items to stick you while hiking/backpacking. The material should have been a synthetic nylon or some other material that will not cause stuff to stick inside the shoe.
I backpack on many various types of trails, and not all of them are the nice, clean, pristine trails. Some of the trails I hit are a little overgrown at times. So the issue with the inner material catching and holding plant material and stuff is annoying. Having to stop and take off your shoes to clean out around the ankle area is a problem.
In the future, I would suggest that a different type of material is used to eliminate this problem.
If the inner material was a different type of material and did not get this stuff stuck into it, I would have given these shoes a solid 5 stars.

These are my goto shoes for work and play. They are great except their insoles are limited in cushioning and arch support. I correct this with Spenco heavy duty insoles, a combination that works perfectly.

Good fit. Very comfortable.
Only slight nitpick is that the walnut color, that to me looked like a nice brown on screen, was actually more grey in color. That's why it gets 4 instead of 5 stars.

They are very comfortable. Like others said, the insole is pronounced but I’ve gotten used to it quickly & it feels supportive. They mesh really is vented so in cooler weather they won’t be warm FYI.

At first these felt very hard, as if the sole was solid and unbending, not as portable at first as my older Moab's. As the day went on they seemed to get better and by the end the day they were comfortable.

Having a fairly long ‘history’ with Merrell this shoe is disappointing. Gone is the well dedigned arch support - replaced with a poor clone of the excellent they have had in the past. Yes, it is there-but I won’t tolerate this latest standard. As the Scottish say, “fool me once...”

Consistent sizing remains an issue. Medial arch is too narrow in medium width and too large in wide width.

I have had several pairs of the Merrell Moab 2 Vent. They are the only shoe I can walk semi-comfortably in. I usually buy men's sizes because I need a wide width and the manufacturers seem to believe that women don't have wide feet. So, usually I am not a huge fan of the color options. I wanted the black, but it was unavailable, so, I went with the charcoal. The color is okay, but the shoes make so much noise when I walk I cannot tolerate it. I will try again with this style because they are comfortable (and the other pair I have in this style does not make the noise), but these are going back.

I ordered a pair Merrell Moab shoes size 10W color: Boulder. I received a size 10.5W color: Walnut I'm sure my ordered item was out of stock and you sent me something close to what I ordered. This was intentional deception on your part. I was not very pleased with your service and the shoes have been returned.

I left a previous 2 star review on 3/18/2020 about the changes in the Moab Ventilator to the current Moab 2 Vent. I wanted to amend that review but apparently can't, hence this updated review. After wearing these for 3 weeks now I must reduce my rating to 1 star. These shoes have a very thin sole and are not at all comfortable. It's a joy to put on new shoes (at least until the newness wears off). It's a disappointment to put these on. As others have also stated, Merrells used to be a top quality brand but apparently have gone the cheap route recently, I still would give them 4 stars for style though. If you have also been a loyal Merrell buyer in the past I recommend you shop other brands.

Great fit and I wore them every day, but only recently — after about 2 years — they started to hurt my feet so I had to stop using them.
