I usually wear a size 9M. These were about 1/2 size too small. They also have no arch support, although from the outside they look as if they would. They are a very attractive boot, so it's too bad they didn't work for me.

After loving a couple similar pairs I had always worn when hiking for a few years, I purchased another pair of the Moab 2 last year as my new "go to" hiking shoes. The others are still comfortable and now used for every day wear and tear. Like my other pairs, these shoes are comfortable right out of the box and seemed sturdy. I did not notice any difference until after a couple long day hikes when a strange squeak noise started coming from one shoe. While hiking, one of the lugs on the heel broke/tore off and I can see that the shoe is beginning to separate from the sole. Glad I made it back without a complete loss of shoe. Although some are different models, I have not seen anything like this before with any of my other 5 pairs of Merrells. (3 pairs of Moabs). I will now need to replace my newest waterproof Moab 2 and am considering a different brand since I do not want to take the risk this is an issue in the latest design. It is a little unnerving when your shoe begins falling apart on a hike. I also found that the M Dry did not seem to be as water resistant as the Gortex in my previous pairs, but that is manageable. Very disappointed and hoping this is an isolated issue since I love the Moab shoes for hiking and was hoping to get as much use from them as my previous ones.

Put thousands of miles on my original Moab 1 hiking shoes. The Moab 2 version has a stiff seam cutting across the tongue that digs into the top of my foot when tied. Why do they have to "improve" on a fantastic design? Returning them with regret.

After decades of buying Merrell shoes I bought this model for its advertised waterproof feature. On a moderately rainy day my left foot was wet from the toes half way up to my ankles. I regret this purchase and can not recommend this product.

I've worn these shoes for years and am on my fifth pair. However, they recently removed Goretex and these shoes are no longer waterproof. Merrill please admit you made a mistake and go back to the last design.

I bought these a few days ago. I worn them today for the first time. I was going to do my 7 mile walk, but I just couldn't walk more than 20 minutes. I had to make extra effort to lift my feet. Didn't have a good grip, wider than should be, relatively heavy, not flexible and uncomfortable. I never walked so slowly. I have to return these to REI.

I bought two pairs of Morell shoes at different time and had issues with both. Not a happy customer at all.

So I bought these to replace my work shoes and was pleasantly happy with how comfortable the 9.5 wide are, however I've had them for 10 weeks, and the front of the shoe is already worn holes in it. Now if I went hiking/walking 10 miles a day for the last 10 weeks, then I'd just chalk it up to heavy usage, but I don't. I mostly use them working retail, where I mostly just stand around the entire time, and only this last month have I had to walk to work which is only 2 miles away. Yet I don't know if its the material of the sole, the thickness or what, but the front is already smooth and one has chunks missing out of it. By contrast the heel isn't even worn down, and i certainly don't tiptoe everywhere I walk. All in all, really disappointed in the durability of these. Comfort means nothing if the soles wear out this quick.

After two months of daily use one of the boots split on the top. The boots were used for daily walks with my dog over normal terrain, not substantial hikes.

I purchased these shoes and within a week i had very wet feet. Extremely disappointed. I was only walking through wet grass.. it wasn't even raining at the time. I wanted these to be my every day dog walking shoes ... through puddles, trails, slush and light snow. It was a huge waste of money. They are comfortable but I don't understand how MERRELL can claim shoes are waterproof when they are NOT> I HATE HAVING WET FEET!

Got my new pair and went for a two mile hike and had to stop 9 times to keep tying untied shoes. Don't understand why they keep coming untied. Thinking about just donating these and going back to Keen as their shoes stayed tied. This was my first and last pair of Merrell's. Not impressed at all.

I have worn this or a similar model Merrell shoe every day for 20 years. On an annual or more frequent basis, I have to replace them because they just flat wear out from heavy use. I wear them everyday walking to my office on sidewalks and pavement, in the office all day, on social occasions at night, and on weekend hiking trips in the mountains. I wear them in winter blizzards and summer rain storms. A colleague at an athletic club I go to three times a week commented recently she had never seen me wearing any other shoes in the decades she has known me. Until this last round of purchases, these shoes and my feet were inseparable. This model of Merrill shoe has been so comfortable I described it as as my feet feel like they are in a glove. and I recommended them many times to friends and family. But then something went terribly wrong. My old pair wore out and I needed to replace them. Because of the shutdown of retail due to coronavirus, I ordered them online and couldn't try them on before buying them. I ordered a pair that were exactly the same size (USA 12) as my old shoes. I could still see the size markings in the old pair so I am sure I got it right. When the shoes came they were too small and pinched my toes. Then I ordered the next size up, (USA 12.5), and they are also too small and pinch my toes. Due to the difficulties of shipping in the pandemic, I am going to donate both pairs to the local homeless shelter rather than return them. I almost think Merrell had a manufacturing error, there is no way I went from a Merrell size 12 to a 13 or larger in the lifetime of one pair of shoes. (And the old 12's still fit.) Be warned, you really need to try these Merrell shoes on before purchasing and not rely on past sizing experience. Sadly, I am going to have to switch brands. It was a great 20 year run. Merrell, I am going to miss you.

I purchased these to replace my old Merrell All Out Blaze walking shoes, which fitted perfectly from day one and were very comfortable. Unfortunately Merrell has changed the shape so that it the toe box is very tight and so low that the shoe presses down on my the nails of my big toes. They felt ok at first, but after 10+ miles in them they have just become more and more uncomfortable. This is so sad, since Merrell used to make very comfortable walking shoes. I am very disappointed in this change of shoe design, and will not buy Merrell again Now I have to seek out another make of good walking shoes.

I was disappointed in the fit ans feel of this Merrill product. The shoe was heavy, clunky, and on every step my heel slid out of the rear of the shoe. Needless to say I returned the product and I'm currently waiting for my refund. I know Merrell makes a great product but this is not one of them

Unfortunate design flaw. There are two pieces of material sewn together creating a seam that cuts right across (left-right) the tendon/heel. It wore a terrible blister the first time I wore them. Returned and looking for something different. There is also something odd, a bit different, about the way the heel tread forces the foot to strike; it creates a rocking motion. That would take some getting used to. Otherwise, the shoe seems to hit all the right notes for what I want in a hiker: snug but comfortable, supportive, aggressive tread design, waterproof, light enough, good insole.

I've been wearing Merrell's for over 10 years. I purchased the size I've always worn, (size 11) but these shoes are at least a half size too small. Initially, I thought they just needed to stretch a bit, but after wearing for a week they just hurt too much to wear. Having been a long time Merrell customer, I'm incredibly disappointed.

I have been wearing moab waterproof or goretex for years, always reliable. Bought a new pair a few months ago and they really were not waterproof but it was a heavy rain. Took on a trip this month and during a short hike the shoe split from the sole. I had to hike back with a floppy shoe. Got back to town and stopped and bought another brand, trashed the Moab's. I guess I should not have done that but I was upset. The other brand is not as comfortable but they are waterproof so far. I also like the look of the Moab's better. Sorry I got mad and trashed them I should have just called merrell first. I will probably buy another pair of Moab's but I will get goretex this time and hope for the best. Every pair of shoes I have are merrell (8) except the ones I just purchased. I have several other styles of merrell shoes and all are comfortable but the Moab's were my favorites. I won't give up on merrell for one defective pair. I just hope that I have better luck and it is not the quality of the new moab style

I love my MOABs but since my earth tone MOAB 1s wore out, Merrell does not make a decent color to wear with khakis or other earth tones. These colors are supposed to be but they are all more in the grey shades. Really wish I could get a color that matches what the web site pictures look like, not grey when they arrinve.

I loved the original ventilators. The second gen have about half the breathability, and they changed the leaving which has created heel slide which is uncomfortable and damages the show over time. Very disappointed.

Felt somewhat shorter than previous Merrell shoes. Toe box is too narrow. To market as Waterproof is very misleading. They completely soak your socks after a few minutes of walking in wet grass. My feet stayed drier in my old Merrell's that were not Waterproof.
