Very lightweight and comfortable boot. Also rugged and dependable at the same time. Wears and feels like a quality running shoe. Great product.

A full size (or more) larger/longer than the previous Merrell Moabs I've bought. Still seems like a good product, otherwise.

I have purchased this exact boot for 8 years. I install solar power on rooftops in South West Florida. I have had and seen other shoes and boots just melt and the glue fail on the hot rooftops here.
Not these, I will buy them as long as they keep making them.

This is without a doubt the best fitting boot I have ever worn. For work or hiking you can't beat the comfort, fit and finish of this amazing boot. I intend to buy more pairs in different colors.

did not keep boots because they were too narrow! I ordered next size up but still not wide enough.

This may be my tenth pair of Merrell's. Bought two a couple of years ago, finally wore them down a bit.
This pair is just perfect - they always fit perfect, the soles are fantastic, the uppers last a long time and the W widths are wide enough (that's rare).
Very happy, will keep wearing Merrell's as long as you keep making them this good.

If you're looking for a comfortable and well vented boot, look no further. I've had these for about a month, and every time I put them on I feel like I've found the perfect everyday boot for me. Lightweight and comfortable, but also has a sturdy yet flexible sole (you don't feel rocks through them). I live in the Desert Southwest, so footwear that breaths well is really important. I was happily surprised when I wore them for the first time on my motorcycle and could feel the air flowing over my feet through the mesh. It's too soon to comment on durability, but they appear to be well made. Sizing seems to be true. I ordered my normal shoe size and they fit perfectly. I'm about to order another pair or 2 so I can rotate them throughout the week.

I've been hiking in these boots for a year now, and they've served me extremely well.
I've hiked in the forests of Western and Central New York, the Appalachians, Gunnison, Colorado, Moab, Utah, Escalante, Utah, Hurricane, Utah, Death Valley, California, Mojave Preserve, California, Stoddard Valley, California, Gorgonio Wilderness, California, Yucca Desert, California, and Joshua Tree, California.
All different locations, all different types of terrain. Humid forests with soft ground in New York, icy desert ground in Colorado, deep dune sand and steep sandstone descents in Utah, arid climates and bouldering in California, these boots have done it all.
The sides grip extremely well on sandstone, anyone hiking in Utah or places alike will be very happy with these (no wonder they're called Moabs!). Walking against the surface of mountains in the desert along jagged rocks and boulders is extremely doable, I've tried in others and didn't feel as confident or safe.
I've also worn these home from hiking, stopped at stores, etc., they're a comfy boot to walk around in.

I have a bad knee that needs replacing in the future, once I started to wear new moab 2 shoes my knee pain subsided. Very easy on my back when walking a lot.

Got my first pair as a present. Had to order a second pair for summer. Then had to order a third pair because both of the other two are so comfortable!

My last MOABs were low style that I wore daily for 5 years. I work security. I walk around 18k steps at work so I put some mileage on MOABs. The uppers still looked good. I had to replace the strings once a couple years ago. The tread on the bottom was finally so worn that it was time for new. My only complaint on the lows is that I would get stones inside them while in the desert so this time I went with mids. They fit just like the older pair. I find the mids are just as easy to put on/off. I was worried my feet would get hot but so far that is not an issue. The heel of the bottom feels a little different than my old pair but I find they work better while going up/down stairs. One trip into the desert so far and no stones! I'm a retired police sergeant and have worn expensive boots/shoes on the job for 33 years. These MOABs are the longest lasting boots I have found. And they are comfortable. They are perfect for wearing in the Arizona desert. They breathe sufficiently to keep your feet cool. The tread has sufficient bite for loose rock in wash walls. The leather parts are strong enough to withstand small cactus needles but not much more. The trade off in breath-ability and comfort is worth it. MOABs really are the Mother Of All Boots

The Moab 2 ventilator wide width mid boots were comfortable right out of the box. The "Ventilator" feature really works, and helps keep my feet cool and dry, They give a lot of support, and are fairly light in weight.

I'm an aircraft mechanic and on my feet from 8-16 hours per day. so far, these boots are working out really well. I'm no stranger to Merrell and have owned many pairs. I bought thee as a moderate temperature boot for temps in the 35-60 degree range without the need for being waterproof. I find that the waterproof shoes don't breathe as well but these are perfect.Throw on a pair of wool socks and these are fine for those cooler "in-between" days when you need a boot but won't be tramping through ice and snow. Traction is good and they look sharp with just a hint of reflective material built in for safety.

I love this boot and WILL buy more if they keep it in their lineup. This is really the only mid-size hiking boot Merrell has that is NOT "waterproof". I bought a waterproof boot similar to this one a couple seasons ago for my office work job, but my feet sweat in them so badly that I could not wait to get out of them later in the day. These boots however last all day, and if I am just a little bit careful I never get wet feet. Stylish and perfect fit for my narrow feet although these are listed as "medium" width, I was happy to find them snug.

I have been having trouble finding shoes that would feel comfortable since having bben diagnosed with planters faciitus, a few months back. These shoes are so comfortable, I don't think as much about PF, as often. I have been out clearing snow. Such a great pair of shoes for going around town or doing light work.

Bought 2 pair 2 years ago. Wore them every day all day. Beat the skippy out of them. Great support. Ventilation is fantastic. Lightweight, comfortable. I need the wide width because of a right foot bunion. Left boot I just lace a little tighter. Get them soaking wet. Don't care. Air dry over night with no shrinkage. Just got 2 new pair. Just great boots.

I have had several pairs of the Moab Air Ventilators, and liked them very much. These boots live up to my expectations, and I really like the new black color!
