I'm not new to Merrell shoes or boots but will never buy them again. My son and I both bought MOAB waterproof boots and I also have the low version. Within a few months all three pairs started to leak. Merrell replaced them after a drawn out process. I now have the Gore-tex MOABs and guess what, they leak too! I'm not talking about walking through puddles or streams. I'm walking across wet grass after--not during--rain or morning dew. I like the fit and the look of the boot but don't need wet feet either when hiking or just walking the dog. Too bad the quality of Merrell products has declined so much.

These are NOT waterproof or even resistant to wet grass. I bought these for work and my feet were soaked walking through wet grass on the very first day! I can't believe these are labeled as waterproof. Am I missing something? I am so upset. On the positive, they are very comfortable, fit well and as expected, and has excellent heal cushioning. They are a little slippery on wet surfaces, but I think that will improve as they are worn.

Worst shoes EVER! Shoes dig in to your Achilles tendon so badly they are unwearable! Wearing a plastic bag filled with broken glass would be more comfortable!

I purchased these last September from a local retailer after trying on quite a few different boots. At the time these seemed reasonably comfortable in the store but walking on concrete floors isn't the same as hiking with them. After three camping trips with them and over 100 miles hiking distance on everything from soft desert sand, slick rock, to mountain dirt trails (I live in Utah) I can say these are by far the most uncomfortable boots I've ever owned in my life and they left me with blisters on multiple toes after each trip. I initially attributed it to a break in but I think 100+ miles is plenty for break in and I now realize its the boot. I think my biggest problem with them is that inside there is a lump on the outer edges of boot that elevates your ring toe above the others...I found this to be the most painful aspect of them as it caused excessive rubbing with the top of the boot (especially when flexed), made my ring toes feel numb, and restricted overall movement. I am now having to search for a new boot before I can do any more hiking or camping. I would not buy these again or recommend them, I was very disappointed especially for the price.

First day wearing these (yesterday) and didn't even get rained on, but when walking in some damp conditions the shoes did get mildly wet and soaked through to the sock. Not something that you should expect from a "Waterproof" product. Although it is likely that the Gore-Tex version of the product is much more Waterproof than this technology, Merrell has lost my trust by selling a product that claims to be waterproof when not. I'm sure their response on here will be to contact their customer service team, but what I am looking for is a waterproof shoe, not an explanation on how to make these shoes waterproof. I will be buying my next boots from a competitor.

Received a pair of these last Christmas, as requested. I always allow for break-in-time and I've worn them sparingly until a month ago working in the landscaping industry. My feet hurt terribly at the end of each day. I added insoles to see if added cushioning would help but i developed blisters on little toes and heal-raises caused blisters at the back of each heel. Have had may good experiences Merrell Products in the past but am disappointed with this pair.

I ordered and received a size 12 shoe which is the size I always wear. When I first put them on they felt too short with my toe all the way to the end of the shoe. I thought I would break them in they would stretch out. After 2 hikes i had blisters on the tips of my toes and cant wear them anymore. Beware order a size longer than you normally wear.

I've worn Moab Ventilators for years. Best shoe in the world. Have always worn 11.5 M. I bought a pair of Moab 2 Mid waterproof size 11.5M and am not happy. When I wear them, my feet sweat and they are too small, hurting my toes. When I called customer service, they said yes they will make your feet sweat since the membrane that makes them waterproof also doesn't allow them to breath. Also the added membrane takes up more room inside so you need to order a half size larger than normal. Wish I would have known these facts before I ordered. Now I have a pair of boots I've worn 5 times and I won't wear them again.

These hiking boots are NOT waterproof! I live in South Texas and just walking in grass wet with dew for 15 minutes completely soaks my socks and feet. I am very disappointed and have had to buy a replacement pair. The boots are very comfortable but cannot be worn when the path is wet. Thanks, Gary

I got a pair of Merrell Mid Waterproof boots and guess what -- they aren't waterproof, as you can see from my very wet socks. These were the third pair of Merrells I've owned, and all three were defective. I'm done with this company.

I bought these for a 2 week elk hunt in Colorado. It involved a lot of elevation changes and hard terrain basically extreme hiking which is 100 percent what these are advertised for. The tread is literally separation from the left shoe. I'm highly disappointed. Truly wish I could post pictures. The right shoe is holding up fine which tells me that it is clearly a manufacturing issue. Judging from most of the reviews, either I received a randomly flawed shoe or none of these people actually use these shoes for what they are sold for.

I've had two pairs of these boots and both have split/separated where the upper joins the sole. They are comfortable but I won't be buying any more. The dealer where I bought the first pair replaced them at no cost but with the second pair failing....................

I've only had them for a year and only use them on occasion, yet they are falling apart. The rubber sole breaks off so easily and the heal has completely worn away. NOT a good product!

I have owned a few pairs of Merrells over the years and have always been satisfied. With that said this last set of boots did not wear as well as expected. The lining on the inside became very loose and because of the friction it started to rip and also it bunches up when putting feet in or taking out. Also, the toe and heel gum started to break away from the upper part of boot. Upset with the performance of these boots especially because I haven't had them that long and haven't really put them through that much work.

I bought a pair moab 2 mid wp August 2018, they started leaking after 6 or 7 months. While I don't expect anything to last forever, 6 to 7 mos. leaking on a waterproof shoe is not what I expected.

I have owned a couple pairs of Merrels and always wore a size 10. This Moab 2 Mid Waterproof in 10 is too small for me by at least a half size and maybe a whole size. I had to return it. I hated having to rate overall and comfort categories. I dont know because they didnt fit.

I'm very disappointed with this product. I went for a 10 miles hike up Bidwell Park and after just walking on wet short grass both feet ended up wet! I let them dry and decided to clean the dirt of the upper and used a bit of water to wash the edges and despite avoiding contact with the upper (mesh) water got inside :( I'd like to return the product since I consider that the use of the word Waterproof is misleading!

I've had these boots replaced twice and all 3 pairs leak. They are very comfortable, but I would never recommend wearing them on an extended hike as you'll be miserable with wet feet. Spend the extra money and buy the Gore Tex version. The Merrell Dry just doesn't compare.

While this is not the exact boot purchased, it's as close to the Merrell continuum as they sell now. The boots I purchased were sharp/ rugged looking, had thinsulate / polartec insulation, and were supposedly waterproof. Problem is the soaked thru! Once wet your feet are freezing! Was highly disappointed!

I bought these thinking I would wear out the soles before having a problem with the boot, well about 2 weeks ago after only owning them less than 6 months the rubber cracked by the small toe on my right foot.

Liked the boots. But on 3rd day of wearing them the padding of the sole bunched up causing a hump between my big toe and toe beside it.

I've been buying Merrill hiking boots for decades and buying namely the Moab. The last two pairs came apart where the rubber meets the leather. It just ripped away and I didn't even wear them that much. So frustrating. I gave away the last pair but gonna see if i can get Merrill to fix these since they're brand new.
