Ordered a half size up because I have and because of natural foot swelling while exercising and they feel amazing! Very comfy and seem like they will hold up for a long time.

Wore them for the first time on a 4-mile hike and were very comfortable. I jimmied them a little bit prior to putting them on, and no issues with laces coming undone. Had a lot of descent toward the latter end of my hike and could feel my toes hitting against the top of the boot but that might be a sign to wear thick hiking socks for my next hike. Lightweight and durable with a lot of grip!

Very comfortable trail boots. No need to break them in. Shipped quickly. True to size. Laces untie easily, so I am going to purchase some old fashioned flat boot laces.

I originally bought Newton Ridge boots about 5 years ago. They went everywhere with me, from the streets of India, the foothills of the Himalayas, 3 months living and working on a mountain, weekly hikes around Washington State, and on backpacking trips throughout Europe. Water never touched my toes and I never got any blisters. These shoes fit your ankles so comfortably and are ready for any terrain. My boots finally gave up and got a hole in them after 5 years of constant wear, so I bought these as a replacement. They are as perfect as my first pair, and do an amazing job of keeping my feet feeling comfortable all day, even after up to 8 hours of hiking. I have small feet but wide toes, but these shoes accommodate them well. I also hate high arched shoes, and I like how these don't push up against the back of my feet too much. Would buy them again!

Hello! I purchased these hiking boots for a class I was taking. We hiked up hills, over rocks, and through streams. All of this was done in pouring rain!!! The boots kept my feet dry and were incredibly comfortable.

I recently took a trip to Scotland with several outdoor pursuits in mind. These boots served their purpose so perfectly for strenuous hikes through mud, up steep rock scrambles, in *incredibly* wet conditions and even *through* a stream (without getting my feet wet!). They come up high enough above the ankle to avoid water being able to slip inside of the shoes -- as long as you aren't romping through full blown rivers. The boots kept my feet perfectly dry and as an added bonus (because of the waterproof coating) my feet stayed toasty warm in a very cold, wet climate. The grip that the bottom of the shoes provides is so outstanding! There were some questionable rock scrambles we were able to make our way up and down, solely because we had fantastic footwear with an unbeatable grip. Some of the rocks were absolutely covered in water and thick mud and these boots held up better than any I have worn previously. I *highly* recommend these to anyone looking for a daytime hiking boot *or* a long-term hiking solution! The price point is unbeatable and to top it all off -- I forgot to break my new boots in before we left for our trip. We hiked *miles* all over mountains and trails and my feet did not have a single blister when our holiday came to an end. These boots were made for walking. In all seriousness though, they were made with a high level of comfort in mind. They fit snugly with thick socks on, leaving just enough room to wiggle my toes around comfortably and they are true to size, more-so than any other shoe I have previously tried on or owned. Shall we talk about the really cool red laces? The boots have a classic look and quite honestly, it's very difficult to find a stylish hiking boot for women. I was super pleased to find these and the minute I laid eyes on them (and feet in them), I knew they were for me. I am not a spokesperson for Columbia. Nor is this a paid or verified review. Buy. I have worn Columbia's Newton Ridge hiking boots daily for years. Oh, I have tried other brands, and they all pale in comparison. Hands down Newton Ridge are the BEST! These boots are waterproof, lightweight, comfortable they provide excellent ankle support, and are durable. I am on my feet 12-15 hours a day, everyday, and usually go through two pairs a year. Although I try to keep one pair back for "good", which rarely work's out. Care for these boots is simple, and necessary to get your money's worth. I simply wipe them off, if needed wash the shoelaces, and periodically I spray them with a silicone based waterproof protector. ** Do not get waterproof spray on the shoelaces as they will not stay tied- they become slippery. Enjoy!

These boots are incredibly comfortable and cute! I sized up to an 8 but actually ended up exchanging them for a 7.5. I normally wear anywhere between a 7 and an 8 so I think these run pretty true to size. I've taken them out a few times since then and I couldn't be happier - I haven't needed to break them in at all since they were already so comfortable to begin with. If you're thinking of sizing up, I would recommend just by sizing up by a half size rather than a full size - this has worked perfectly for me with my hiking socks!

I have narrow, flat feet and have such a difficult time finding shoes that fit and function correctly. I tried on every pair of women's hiking boots at the outdoor store and these were the only pair that felt comfortable and stable on my feet. I love the classic look, they are an all around great outdoor boot.

I have been looking for a while for a great quality boot that not only fits great and is comfortable but stylish as well. I purchased the tan and absolutely LOVE this boot! I cant wait to start being able to wear them all the time both out for hiking but just running around if need be. Great product!

really glad i could find a boot like this- its comfortable just as i expected and durable as well! this particular color works awesome with almost anything i wear, so im glad i went with this one. i'm usually a 5/5.5, but ordered a half size up cause I think they run a little small. Ordered the 6 and theyre perfect. other than that, great!

Having feet the size of a small boat and the added whammy of rheumatoid arthritis, it's hard to find a comfortable shoe or boot most of the time. This boot is the exception - my feet feel supported, my toes have wiggle room, and even with heavier socks my feet don't feel tight wearing them. Added bonus: they're waterproof. And purple. If they came with German chocolate cake, they'd be absolutely perfect.

What awesome boots, the minute I put them on they fit great with enough room in the toe area. I have rather wide feet due to arthritis on the big toe joint all due to extensive outdoor work due to my job. I normally have to do alot of research to find the right boots. I shop around quite a bit these boots were the most comfortable even when compared to other big name brands. The only thing I would add is a shoe insert.
