I was in my local running shop looking to replace my Clifton 3s with either another pair or the Clayton. The sales guy knew a lot about the Hoka lineup, said they just got the Bondi 5s in even though they weren't yet out on display. I like the Clifton 3s, but they're still a little narrow. Tried the Clayton and they didn't do it for me. He brought out the Bondi 5s, and I knew before I even tried them on they were going to work for me. The upper is a huge improvement over the 4 - much more pliable and flexible. I have a pair of Bondi 4, the wide version, and the toe box of the 5 has more room than the wide 4. Only one run in, but I'm extremely happy with these shoes.

I got these to replace the Clifton 3 shoes which were outstanding. The Bondi 5 has a bit softer more shock absorbent sole. There is plenty of room in the toe box and they are much lighter than you would imagine with a sole as thick as they appear. I have only had them for 3 days and have not been on a long walk with them yet. With plantar fasciitis in my right foot I notice an immediate improvement over non-Hoka shoes.

I used to be a huge Hoka Vanquish 2 fan until they stop making it and then I developed plantar fasciitis and tarsal tunnel which set off a neurosis of sorts trying to find shoes that compared. I have literally tried just about every single Hoka and sent them back including the later version of this Bondi. I am a woman and they didn't have my size so I settled With The mens. I have finally found the squish in the heel that I desperately need but here I am again with a shoe that is discontinued. My pinky toes rub so for me they are a little too narrow since I have wide flat feet and I just came back here to see if they had it in a wide and they don't so once these wear out which will be soon because I work in an ER and I walk 7 miles a night and I beat through shoes like there's no tomorrow. Looks like I'm going to be screwed again. Hoka please bring back the old styles!I can only hope that they stretch to make room for my pinky but I've been down this road before and I'm not too optimistic. Of this shoe or just a little bit wider and had more arch support it would be perfect.

Ran my First Half Marathon in these shoes 2:05 bib (Nike App 2:01). These are good shoes but do feel a little heavy even tho they are about 0.8 ounces each shoe. The cushion isn't too plush that is for sure. It is easy to get your knee locked / straight because of all the cushion in this shoe you do not get a feel of how thick the soles are and on certain surfaces my legs feet have somewhat gotten stuck on the ground forcing my knee to jam.

I bought these as I had tried a pair on in a store and they fit like a glove (size, toebox, everything). The sales person told me that is just the fit of the shoe, not a wide bed. They had plenty of room in the toe box for both width and height.
I chose to shop on-line to save money. I chose to buy direct from the manufacturer. When I bought these from the manufacturer they are pressed in both height, width, and they run a half size too small. I couldn't return them for some reason, so I live with the minor size discomforts.

The most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. My only concern is tread separation. I bought a second pair the week after buying my first as the shoe is so comfortable, but the tread started to separate on both with a month. I have used shoe glue on multiple occasions and may try 3M super gasket adhesive next time. I love the shoes but am disappointed in the tread separation.

Was always interested in trying the shoes and have been very comfortable. Very cushioning and fit really good with the my inserts for high arches.

I used another brand for wide and flat feet, despite there were good in short distances, it was very painful for long distances due to lack of cushion in right places.
The bondi 4 model was recommended by an expert in a Houston store, and it took me one year to realize the mistake I made.
I have improved in my performance and no longer pain in my feet, very durable and comfortable.
Am using the new version and so far are great!

I ordered these shoes in an attempt to find something comfortable, and stiff-soled, and cushy and supportive, after surgery for a displaced 5th metatarsal fracture. The jury is still out on these. I'm a female with wide forefeet, normally wear a 9 or 9.5.
Under normal circumstances, I would love them, I think, and they definitely tick all the post-op boxes. I find I'm having trouble locating shoes that aren't too narrow between the footbed and the upper, if this makes sense. The incision site is still very tender and my foot tends to swell quite a bit by the end of the day, so anything without a deep (as well as wide) toe box is out. That eliminated a lot of other offerings. These Hokas are VERY stiff-soled, which is great, and even in a men's 8 EE (would've ordered 8.5 but they were out) they are not overly wide, and even a bit narrow through the instep.
Right now I'm back in my Keen hiking boots, because these Hokas started rubbing on the incision and causing pain.
I wish there were a spot for reviews relating to specific foot conditions. I am hoping to eventually transition back to my Merrells and my Altras, but according to my ortho they aren't supportive enough.
Anyway, FWIW these seem like they'd be extremely comfortable for a normal foot. They aren't nearly as ugly as the NB black walking shoes and seem to have a more ergonomically correct fit, at least for my feet.
Hope this helps, especially if anyone out there is looking for post-surgical options for recovering feet!

Buy a half size larger than you normally wear and toe box/width concerns are gone! Whenever I try another brand I always return to the best cushioning shoe ever.....

After the bondi 5 I purchased the Gaviota style and that's the shoe for me. The fit and support keeps my feet happier then they have been years.

Shoe is fine. I was hoping it would help with shin splints. It's unfortunately not a miracle shoe. I was hoping it was. I just will continue to walk and slowly try running again.

I absolutely loved the Bondi, but less than 4 months and the rubber bootom of the soles started peeling off. NO GOOD! I will say yes I would recommend, but please fix this issue. I'm going to order another pair and it this happens again, I will definitely go else were for my business. Do you offer repair work or exchange?

I have enjoyed the Hoka Cliftons, especially the 3s. I recently tried the Bondis thinking the extra cushioning would help after six knee surgeries. The Bondis seemed to tip slightly outward and seemed shallow in the heel compared to the Cliftons. Took the Bondis for a run and got blisters on my heels. Sent them back with the exchange paperwork all filled out for a set of Cliftons. After over two weeks I just received emails indicating a full refund with no mention of an exchange. So I will just order some Cliftons 3s as they have always worked well for me and they are now discounted. I appreciate the full disclosure reviews both pro and con. Many of the reviews were saying the same thing about the 3s being a bit wider and softer than the 4s so I will go with the 3s.

Firstly, a thanks to DG from SF who had a very helpful review of the differences between the Bondi 4 LTR and Bondi 5 Leather, etc. I bought the Bondi 5 in black and then after reading DG's review, I bought a pair of the Bondi 4 LTR in black. I like the wider heel of the 5, which makes it a bit more stable for me when running. However, the 5 is easily 0.25" shorter in length than the Bondi 4 LTR in the same size (14 Wide) and it makes a huge difference. I can wear winter boot socks in the 4, but only thin running socks fit in the 5. The Bondi 4 is clearly softer and more comfortable than the 5. I use the leather (4) version for casual work attire and for colder weather dog walks. I run in the 5. I have read comments about durability and that has not been a problem at all. I run 25-30 miles per month on pavement and I am 6'3" 200lbs and the outsole has held up very well. I have changed out the laces as they were too long.
My vote is that the Bondi 6 is either as long as the Bondi 4 or you add a size 15 in Wide. Please.

Widths - yes this is a good shoe for people w wide feet - it's just not quite a good as it could be
this is the first shoe I've been able to run in without orthotics in years, I was runnin in NB 840 11.5 4E
Bondi 5 needs a slightly wider last and a slighty deeper toe box
I've used these in marathons, I get minor toenail irritation that I never got with NB, and sometimes a Hoka blister btw the toes - more width and depth would make them perfect
cushioning - these are awesome, like running on clouds
colors - wide foot people want bold colors too, not just black and grey - give us bright red, yellow and blue
tongue - the tongue is stiff and short and can run against your foot/tendons just above the ankle - make it longer/softer or a little shorter
I will continue to buy them - they are currently my only Hoka alternative and they are good - but could be great.
