Love the Bondi 4! Comfortable, light weight and great cushioning! On my second pair now. The first pair lasted over 1000 km; the second pair is now over 600 km and still going strong. I am stocking up on this shoe so that I don't have to purchase the Bondi 5!

Having used the Bondi for the last 4 versions since 2011, was looking forward to the 5, not disappointed, great cushioning, feel, support and traction for slight trails. Takes about 30k to break in.

To put into perspective, I run on average 30-50 miles per week with walks in between. I have owned several different styles of Hoka's, (Clifton2&3, Vanquish, SpeedGoat and Challenger ATR2, etc) and each has performed beautifully. Not always as expected but never poorly. The Bondi 5 is no exception to that rule. I am unable to compare it to the Bondi 4 however. In comparison to ALL the other Hoka shoes I have run in Bondi 5 is the BEST at what it is designed for. The hard man made surfaces of concrete, asphalt etc are no match for the comfort and stability of the Bondi 5. To note the Bondi 5 is the first running shoe of any brand I have ever owned that the tread wore evenly across the entire shoe. Giving me confidence that my foot placement has improved since using the Bondi 5. Which is very important to me when the miles start stacking up. If you are an avid road runner then the Bondi 5 should be given consideration as an option to your daily running gear.

I previously had the Bondi 4's which were way too narrow. Gave me blisters on the outsides of my feet on longer runs. I am normally a standard 'D' width in other shoes like Asics, but Hokas run really NARROW. Anyways, I saw that the Bondi 5's came in wide, so I ordered a pair. Could not be happier. Feel like I could run forever in these shoes.

Recommended by my podiatrist to help address sore tendon problems due to aging. The shoe has achieved its purpose. In the all black color, I can even wear in for business attire.

These shoes are Great!!! I highly recommend them!!! I've never owned this brand before, but will definitely be a return customer in the future!!! I bought these shoes to wear to work. I'm on my feet all day and these shoes provide me with the comfort I've been looking for! I give these shoes all 5 stars.
When ordering I recommend going with your shoe size for other running shoes you may already own.
Zappos is a great company!!! I've been a customer for years. Customer service is exceptional!!

I am not a runner, but I bought these shoes because for over a year I have been suffering from foot pain, particularly from the ball of my foot forward. I was recommended these by a friend who teaches school and swears that without them she couldn't stand all day. I first ordered the standard size, but it fit too tight for me and I sent them back for the wider size which arrived at my home before I could get around to packing up and returning the first pair. Now, I don't want to wear any other closed toe shoes. These seem to sort of lift up the front portion of my foot so there is very little weight bearing there, and they are stiffer in the toes, so that I am not bending my toes much at all if and when I have to squat. They are great!

Great show, a little stiff in the upper to start and the tongue was a little uncomfortable, but after one run in them they were fine. I'm a heavy pronator, but running in these shoes they really guide your foot correctly. I haven't had any pain or issues at all and I love the cushioning.

I run between 110 and 150 miles per week, focusing primarily on 50m-100K Road/Trail Ultras and dabble in the 1/2-Full Marathon on Road. The Bondi has been one of my favorite shoes for the past two years. I'm a big fan of the update for several reasons. 1. Extremely comfortable and breathable upper. 2. Wide forefoot that accommodates feet well on easy recovery days. 3. Light and responsive shoe capable of responding well to paces between 4:50 and 7:30 per mile. 4. Durable-Capable of withstanding 500-750 miles depending on size/stature of runner. 5. Cushioning is perfect for easy recovery and long runs.

Having run on the Bondi 4 for about a year (35 miles/week), I knew I had found my perfect shoe. Minor aches and pains that I was starting to experience in my hip flexors, completely went away after using the Bondi 4. I began to think I should buy up a couple pairs, as the new version was about to hit. Well, I decided to go with the new model and after putting in 35 miles, I can see that I made the correct choice.
It seems that forefoot fit has been updated, eliminating some of the unnecessary roominess. The engineered mesh upper with slight stretch is a noticeable improvement. A molded OrthoLite insole is like a little pillow under foot. While the overall heel-to-toe strike seems only slightly firmed up from the last version, it is still a very pleasurable ride. I absolutely love the new Bondi 5 and just don't see how you can improve on this incredible shoe. Well, I guess I've said that before. Great job Hoka product team. Great job.

I am a woman who has had a lot of foot pain (plantar fasciitis, hallux limitus/big toe arthritis, bunions) at a very young age. I have always had discomfort when walking or running, until I tried this shoe. I cannot believe it is even possible to walk without foot pain... They are VERY sturdy and kind of 'roll' as you take steps, so my toes doesn't have to bend nearly as much. I have made everyone in my family try them on and now everyone is buying them... If you are someone that has any kind of foot pain or even just knee or back pain I HIGHLY recommend these shoes. They have allowed me to get back to running after years of not being able to due to pain. Thanks, Hoka!

Bought these for my husband and he says they are the most comfortable shoes he owns. The design is a little less awkward than the versions with thick whit soles. He no longer runs but wear them daily for long walks as well as arou No the house.

I'm 6'2" 255 and have had 4 lower back operations. I'm very active but need a cushioned shoe to help with my back and have a bad knee. The Bondi 5 is my 6th pair of Hoka's and these are by far the best that I've had. After reading some reviews that may not have been so positive, I understand that all of our feet are different and won't have the same results as others. For me, I'm looking forward to another color already. The cushion and comfort are 2nd to none. The upper is soft, comfortable, and breathable like the Valor, with the lower of the Bondi. In my opinion, they've taken the best of 2 worlds to come up with the Bondi 5. I would take all comments with a grain of salt and give them a shot and form your own opinion. Good luck!

It's amazing how many different feedback comments there are that are so different. Some love these while others hate them. Good thing you can try them out and return them within 30 days and it costs you nothing. Good job Hoka! For me they are great! Love my Bondi 4's, but these better. Love the bright orange colored ones. This for me is one of the big improvements over the Bondi 4. I would even suggest more wild colors. The shoe at first seems a little stiff, but after a few runs it softens down. It also feels more stable than my 4's which is a good thing because I tend to over pronate a little. The balance between stability and cushioning is tricky, but I think Hoka has nailed it in the Bondi 5. Thank you Hoka for helping us old guys run and compete with virtually no knee or back pain!

I have worn all Bondi versions and this (5) is the best, so far. Very comfortable, yet they don't feel heavy.
I like the lacing style and appreciate the wide toe box. This style of shoe has kept me running after a recent hip injury and surgery. Thank you Hoka!

I'm a female who wears a men's 13EE. These shoes were recommended to me by my podiatrist
And the have transformed my feet! Great cushioning and support. I walk 5-7 miles per day and these shoes have made that possible. Although I am no longer a runner, these are the only casual shoes that I will wear from this point forward. They are worth every penny!!!

After 9 years of treadmill use prescribed by my cardiologist after a triple bypass, I began to experience knee pain. Fortunately a local shop introduced me to Hoka. I purchased 2 pairs of Clifton 3's from them and then found Bondi 5 on this website and bought a pair. My other pairs in the treadmill rotation are Saucony and Adidas into both of which I installed good quality heel pads but they don't compare with the Clifton 3's and nowhere near the Bondi 5.

I was against the notion of using Hokas since I've been more in the pursuit of the barefoot movement for the last 5 years after reading Born to Run. However as I've aged, now 53 I need more cushioning but did not want the large drop in traditional running shoes. I tried Altra for a while and then Hoka. I found the Clifton 2 and Bondi 3 too narrow so I passed and ran in Zoot for a while. I returned to the Clifton 3 nad now the Bondi 5. Both are excellent and I cannot say enough good things. Comfort is A1, the ride is plush but firm although the Bondi is softer and great for recovery runs. Toebox is roomy and arch is good. The only issue I have is that I typically wear a thin sock like Balega or Swiftwick and had to lace them differently across the bridge as they were a bit sloppy. Other than that....No issues.

I was in my local running shop looking to replace my Clifton 3s with either another pair or the Clayton. The sales guy knew a lot about the Hoka lineup, said they just got the Bondi 5s in even though they weren't yet out on display. I like the Clifton 3s, but they're still a little narrow. Tried the Clayton and they didn't do it for me. He brought out the Bondi 5s, and I knew before I even tried them on they were going to work for me. The upper is a huge improvement over the 4 - much more pliable and flexible. I have a pair of Bondi 4, the wide version, and the toe box of the 5 has more room than the wide 4. Only one run in, but I'm extremely happy with these shoes.

I got these to replace the Clifton 3 shoes which were outstanding. The Bondi 5 has a bit softer more shock absorbent sole. There is plenty of room in the toe box and they are much lighter than you would imagine with a sole as thick as they appear. I have only had them for 3 days and have not been on a long walk with them yet. With plantar fasciitis in my right foot I notice an immediate improvement over non-Hoka shoes.

I used to be a huge Hoka Vanquish 2 fan until they stop making it and then I developed plantar fasciitis and tarsal tunnel which set off a neurosis of sorts trying to find shoes that compared. I have literally tried just about every single Hoka and sent them back including the later version of this Bondi. I am a woman and they didn't have my size so I settled With The mens. I have finally found the squish in the heel that I desperately need but here I am again with a shoe that is discontinued. My pinky toes rub so for me they are a little too narrow since I have wide flat feet and I just came back here to see if they had it in a wide and they don't so once these wear out which will be soon because I work in an ER and I walk 7 miles a night and I beat through shoes like there's no tomorrow. Looks like I'm going to be screwed again. Hoka please bring back the old styles!I can only hope that they stretch to make room for my pinky but I've been down this road before and I'm not too optimistic. Of this shoe or just a little bit wider and had more arch support it would be perfect.

Ran my First Half Marathon in these shoes 2:05 bib (Nike App 2:01). These are good shoes but do feel a little heavy even tho they are about 0.8 ounces each shoe. The cushion isn't too plush that is for sure. It is easy to get your knee locked / straight because of all the cushion in this shoe you do not get a feel of how thick the soles are and on certain surfaces my legs feet have somewhat gotten stuck on the ground forcing my knee to jam.
