I ran 2 miles in them. The next time that I put them on I noticed that some the inside lining was coming unglued. I returned them.

These shoes felt very different when trying them on in the store. I have never had an issue with the two shoes feeling so different between each foot. I did like the cushion they provided while trying them on. After spending the day (8 hours +/-) in them, I was extremely disappointed with the fatigue I felt in each leg and specifically my ankles. I have been trying to find the happy medium by wearing them about two to three days a week and still remain disappointed with the end result.

I like this running shoe, I gave it a 5 star a month ago. Taking 3 satrs out ! this is an update after running it for over 100 miles, during my 10 to 13 mile runs, I got really bad blister 3 times on the upper at the vamp where the crease or hold occur when you foot flex, which is at the spot of the tongue and lace eyelet flap are stitched together. see picture for clarituy, at this point I don't think I would recommend this to anyone, I'll probably going back to my Favorite and Always Realiable Clifton 3

PROS: HOKA was recommended by my chiropractor for comfort on bad knees/back. Arahi is my 1st Pair of HOKA's and, as I'm flat footed, this shoe seemed the most reasonable choice especially as WIDE selections go w/HOKA. The roll design of this shoe, heel to toe, seems masterful with good cushioning. Fit was a snug but good in 13 W (typically take a 13 EEE in Asics). Look, comfort and build quality is Solid. Arrived ahead of schedule. CONS: Wore shoe several days to acclimate to the design. Never got totally comfy, somewhat tight across toes, but felt ready for a test jog. For note: 6' tall, 250 pds, w/shorter legs & long torso. When I ran in this shoe, my natural stride caused a heel strike closer to the middle-rear of the shoe; where some of the stiffer over-pronation support is located. Because of the support/stiffness in the middle of the shoe, an awkward hell to toe flopping action took place...resulting in a jarring step. I really had to stretch my gait to make this shoe work & even then hit in the wrong place at times. 1 mile in, painfully I had enough. Didn't give up on HOKA, bought a pair of Bondi 5's and they are perfect. Arahi not a bad shoe, just not for me due to the overpronation support/stiffness/jarring step. The Bondi 5 Cushioning is, in my opinion, far superior and plush as compared to the Arahi for someone of my size/build and likely the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn.

Love the shoes - hate that they squeak. Not crazy about the color - wish they were solid black!

This was the first Hoka shoe I've ever tried. I was looking for something with a lot of cushion, and in that regard the shoes did not disappoint. I mostly run on pavement, and the cushion in these shoes was a really nice change. It is really too bad that it felt so tight on my toes. I only went on two runs with these shoes - a six mile and an eight mile run - and by the end of the second run, I had some painful blisters on my little toes. I would have sent them back, but I have a brother-in-law who wears the same size shoe, and he wanted to try them. He agreed that the shoes are uncomfortable on the toes, but he hopes it will improve as the shoes wear. In any case, he took them off my hands, so Hoka still got a sale out if it. I just don't know if I want to take another chance.

Love the Clifton 3. The Arahi is brutal. No cushion and stiff like I'm running in crocks. Chucking these in the donation box. Big fan of Hoka but not the arahi

Ordered size 11. They were too short and too narrow. Returned them and ordered 11.5 wide. They were far too long and far too wide. I suspect Hoka's manufacturer has poor quality control.

What is going on with Hoka???? Has been my go to shoe for 4 years - got me through plantar fasciitis, tarsal tunnel syndrome, achilles tendon problems, flat arches, and just plain old achy arthritic feet. These shoes were amazing - I was literally running in circles around my friends with similar problems proclaiming their attributes - NO MORE!!!!! They seem to be a different brand all together - they don't fit with or without orthotic inserts, thin or NO socks. I even got desperate and tried a men's wide (just to be clear - I normally wear a woman's medium width with the laces as tight as they will go because I have extremely thin feet) in a 1/2 size too large and they were so constricting that my feet went numb just SITTING with them on - heaven forbid I actually try to walk in them! It finally dawned on me after trying 9 different size/width combinations in women's and men's sizes that the problem is not the width of the shoe - it is depth (from the top of the shoe to the floor) - no matter how much you open the shoe laces it cannot be opened fully because the shoe is built too shallow and the tongue is sewn into top of shoe - no room! The toe box is so shallow that the end of my big toe looked like it was trying to "burst" through the top of the shoe. I am so disappointed that this brand has "sold out" - used to give you 2 insoles, 2 sets of shoestrings, and 1 a set of lock laces - now, 1 insole and 1 set of shoestrings. This is not a cheap brand - but they appear to only be looking at the bottom line at this point - well if they like zeros they are doing a bang up job of accomplishing their goal!! I will no longer be contributing to their income!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$120 (20% off sale for 87.99) Arahi shoes and have worn down and rips on side from only 60 miles. Bought these shoes in September, ran for about 30 miles, then ran the Marine Corps Marathon. I noticed the stitching on the inside came off, and rips on the outside. Seriously HOKA? You're is suppose to be a quality product.

I tested these shoes out and after running a 1/4 mile I started to get knee pain. I am in my 20's and I am a professional athlete and NEVER get pain until I tried these shoes out. They seem like Sketchers shape ups: Runners Edition. Avoid buying these shoes and save your knees.

I am a huge fan of Hoka running shoes. I trained for my first marathon in the Clifton 3, which I believe offers the perfect amount of cushion/bounce for runners with collapsing heel/arches. I really wanted to love this shoe, but after 30 miles I could no longer stand the pain in BOTH legs (upper Achilles area just below my calf). This shoe is very rigid and does not provide sufficient flex. As soon as I bought a replacement pair of Cliftons, I immediately noticed the flex and comfort that truly make Hokas the best running shoe IMO. Valuable lesson to just stick with a model that works for you.

Not quite wide enough in the right spot. Wore three times and just does not feel comfortable running despite all the Hoka hype I hear. Shoe feels cumbersome - too much sole in the middle of the shoe where it should be hourglass-shaped. I don't need it there or the heel. Maybe it is just too much stability for me.
