Purchased my first HOKAs back in May 2017 and thus far have put 290 miles on them. Shoe fits well, and is quiet light. My only complaint is that the sole --especially at the heal-- wears very quickly. I've literally wore the heal down to the soft inner sole. I used ASICS previously, and never saw this kind of wear so early in the game.

Purchased in August 2017 and by early October 2017 the sole wear was excessive. I have a size 12 shoe, am approx 190 lbs, running about 20 miles per week on asphalt and concrete and training for half ironman triathlons. Although I like the shoe, and it fits well with good feel and control I am reluctant to re-order due to the potential of replacement every 3 months due to excessive outsole wear and tear. I do not abuse these shoes and the wear and tear is even across both left and right feet. Other brands of shoe I have used (predominantly asics) do not degrade this fast so this isn't due to me being a 6'4'' 190 lbs runner.
Bottom line: A good shoe but outsole resilience (at least in the one pair I have owned) seems poor.

I returned a pair because, the inside straps that hold the sole to the upper shoe gets lose and becomes uncomfortable.

The shoes aren't bad, they just aren't that good. I have had at least 5 pairs of hoka shoes and these have been the most disappointing. I'm from New Zealand, I LOVE HOKA SHOES and I pronate. It sucks cause I love shoes like the clifton and challenger but often find problems with the lack of stability. Whenever I ramp up the K's I get lots of issues. When the Arahi came out I thought it would be a god send. It wasn't, same issues as with the Cliftons just not as nice of a shoe. (Side note, my ones have fallen to bits very quickly.) Bottom line is I think these could be good for a very limited number of people but if your having major issues, you probably need something more than this shoe can offer. Buy some Cliftons and go see a podiatrist, you'll love them and it will work out better in the long run.

I have tried running in maximalist shoes when they were the rage. I just couldn't get the hang of it. The few pairs of Hokas I tried felt too tight in the toe box even when I sized up. I gave that up. Now a few years later, I want to give it another chance. This was recommended to me. So I ordered two sizes. Feels alright. Still felt snug. Shoe is comfortable enough. I run in neutral shoes yet I've been advised to wear with ones with support so I picked this. The support seems a bit odd for me. I may just need to give it some time to break in. The other thing I noticed was it felt too hot. I normally just wear thin socks. Even then, I could feel this shoe to be very warm compared to my other shoes.

Didn't like the gaviota , really hurt me compared to Clifton 3`s. Was going to just get another pair of Clifton but tried these on. To me the fell like Clifton with orthotics, I was pumped . After 25 miles , they were just too narrow in the toe box. They feel just like Clifton 2`s in width . I just have a slightly wider foot so for many I think this an awesome shoe , for me , my pinky toe would wear a hole in it just like the original Clifton and the 2`s. I just love the slightly wider Clifton 3 .

These are my first pair of Hoka's, which I have had for 10 days and have put on 50 miles so far. For the most part, I really like the shoes. They're really comfortable, I like the weight, and width options helps them fit my feet nicely. Now the downside. First, I have trouble getting my heal locked down, unless I lace them all the way up and tight. My other concerns are focused on the build quality. The tongue on the inner shoe is attached sloppily. It has a tendency to curl in when I put the shoe on. I attached photos for the next two issues. On the one shoe, the fabric is starting to peel off. On both shoes, the outsole is wearing faster than any shoe I've ever owed. It's just deteriorating more and more after each run. I don't know if this is normal for Hoka's, but I can't help but feel these shoes won't make it another 100 miles if I kept them.

I have Morton's toe and the toe box is too narrow. I ended up buying the Clifton which is a much better fit for me.

This is a decent shoe. i got it because it was in wides. With that said, I was able to run in them and during short runs, it was ok, but during any longer runs, I got a hot spot on the ball of my foot. It caused blisters. After looking at it further, the shoe only bent at the tip of the shoe where my toes were. I am convinced since the shoe didnt bend at hat ball of my foot, my foot would bend and rub back an forth on teh inside of the shoe, thus causing the blister. the shoe is light and fast for a stability shoe, but I wish it was more flexible.

Can only wear wide sizes, Bondi 5 EE fit me fine, wanted to love these as more stable but wide were still too tight, so sad..... Wish Hoka offered more wide options, especially hiking shoes/boots

I took these out on a short (3 mile) break-in run last month and got the worst blisters ever from a new pair of shoes. On both feet, I had thin 4 inch long blisters running the length of my arch. The blisters lined up to where the sockliner and upper meet. I don't know why this is so bad but I haven't had the chance to run in them since. I tried to return them to the retailer but they won't take them back since they're used.
On the plus side, they look nice and are lightweight.

I really wanted to love these shoes. Sadly, I very much dislike them. They are incredibly hot. Here in Florida, I feel like I have 2 Ziploc bags over my feet. They do not breathe at all. I am a lady with long feet. I have never worn a wide width in men's or women's shoes, and these shoes are too narrow for me. Terrible design. The narrowest part of the shoe is the widest part of your foot, just below the toes. It is difficult for me to find a colorful shoes in men's sizes. So I give it 2 stars because I like the bright blue and yellow color. Now, if only I could wear it...

I walk a lot for work. The shoes were tight in the toe box, wore thick socks to stretch them out. Problem solved. Now, I'm having an issue with the shoe rubbing under my foot. I wore Bond is and loved them. I've never had athletic shoe problems before. Quite perplexing.

These shoes were very comfortable and I loved the extra support and padding. However after only 3.5 months of wearing them to the Gym 3x a week the rubber on the soles started to detach rendering them unusable for working out.

I have used the HOKA Bondi since my Ortho MD told me about them. I have run half marathons for 2 years, and will run my 1st full marathon in a week. I tried the Bondi 5 at a lical running store. Felt too short, but worse was how Narrow the toe box was. I tried a half size larger, but the fit was too sloppy around the heel. I had to return them. Please HOKA, give us back the rounded, roomy toe box!
