In search of a replacement for Clifton 3s, (The Clifton 4 didn't work for me). Bondi's were recommended by a friend. The Bondi didn't work for me. I had hip pain and pain the archers after walking in them. I gave them a two week trial and they never got better. Back they went.

I loved, loved, loved my old Clifton's. I run anywhere from 4-7 miles at a time, 2-3 days a week. I have done 10k events, relays (Ragnar Northwest Passage and the upcoming Hood to Coast Pacific City), and am slowly progressing towards my first half marathon. They're cushy and "just right" in every way. But they're wearing out quickly, so I needed another pair. Tried the Bondi's, and I was so disappointed. They're stiffer than the old Clifton's, and I had sore arches after my 7 mile run. What's more strange is the bruising I had on the inside of my ankles! Not fun. I was going to wear them for my first run of the last Duathlon I recently did, but I just didn't want to take the chance, even if it was only for the first 5K. Hoka... ever hear of the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't 'fix' it"?! Needless to say, they're going back....

I am returning these but will try another style - I would like to know which styles do not have the reinforced/plasticized tongue so that I can purchase them for walking and running.

For the money and the giant sole, I thought they would be very comfortable. They were not, they were very stiff

I had the Clifton 3 for running and loved them, but was due for a new pair so I decided to try the Bondi 5 based on the many good reviews. I got the Medieval blue/mint color that was $15 less than the other colors. I expected them to be as cushy and comfortable at the Clifton 3 but they seem kind of hard and stiff. My feet ache across the top and at the big toe when I run in them. They don't look narrow and they look like they'd feel cloud-like, but not for me. I was expecting the comfort/cushion of the Clifton but am pretty disappointed.

I wanted to like these after my sister raved about them; realized that she and I don't always need to agree. These just felt heavy on me, just like the Gaviota. I tried them on, did a brief aerobic/dynamic warm up in them and placed them back in the box. Returned today, along with the "free" water bottle; I am an honest consumer :-). I wish for the Clifton 3 design in a wide.

I like the shoes initially, but they were too stiff in the forefoot for me. I could not get them not to burn when I ran - and I tried a lot of miles before I finally sent them back. They looked cool and felt fine until I started running. I'm 5'1" and 115lbs...ish.

This is my third pair of this shoe and I find myself wondering if Zappos is selling merchandise that are "seconds" This pair do not feel at all the same as my other two pairs. I wore them once and they hurt the ball (base of the toes) area hurt. I won't be buying online again.

I was excited for the new Bondi 5, but after long runs I noticed it causing pain on the top of my ankle. With. Increasing miles the pain got worse, I tried to pad the area and use different lacing patterns. The tongue to longer and pushes into the front of the ankle. I will not be able to continue in these shoes.

This is one butt-ugly shoe. That could be forgiven if it were comfortable. Unfortunately it is too shallow and with my orthotics my socks bunch up and my feet feel like they are coming out of the shoe. Back it goes. Gotta love Zappos!

My shoe's left insole was defective. The shoes are not like the original version because the original shoes had more stability and better padding. Also the support on the original shoes had arch support these shoes felt like they were flat inside. There was some lift to the lip of the insides but not enough to be considered supportive. Also the new company also changed the shoe laces. The older laces locked in place and were rounded. These new laces are cheap and do not look reliable for running.

This does not seem to be the right review, it is asking laundry-type questions. But, I will review my shoes. I bought these to replace shoes I bought in 2016 and lost. They have a weird tip in the front, the tongue is too hard and runs on the top of my foot. These shoes are not as good as the ones I bought last year.

I liked the toe box. That is why I gave it two stars. The heel feels very hard to me. I wish Hoka would bring back the Clifton 3's. That shoe had a wide enough toe box (wider than the Clifton 4's currently selling) and a comfortable heel. Much better than the Hoka One One Bondi 5. Please bring back the Clifton 3, or make a shoe that is truly as comfortable, WITH a wide toe box AND super comfortable heel. Thank you.

For some reason Hoka put a stiff metallic piece of material at the top of the tongue which adds nothing to the function of the shoe but digs into the front of the ankle without flexibility. Why?? Otherwise would have been great.

I bought a pair of Hoka one-ones size 12 primarily for the cushioning. Fine there. Complaint: after moderate wear the bottom surface of the sole -- the material that makes contact with the street -- is separating -- coming unglued -- at the heel end of both shoes.

They are light weight, they are pretty, they are comfortable because they are so soft and absorb shock well. However, they cause blisters on the tops of the second toe from the big toe. Also, after the first mile or two I experienced numbness under the outside toes. I won't recommend these until i figure out what these issues are and how to fix them.

I have a very wide foot and due to multiple foot issues need a very soft footbed. These shoes not wide enough. More like a C width than the D width I get in other brands. There is lots of padding in the mid foot, too much arch, that gave them a rocker feel. They have a very deep heel. I did not like this. Seemed to be hard to walk heel toe for me.

The EE fits well across the wide part of the foot, but the toebox is still too narrow! Human feet don't come to a point! Also, the ankle collar rubs, which didn't happen to me on past models. I've had Bondis since the first version. I like the concept, but please make them to fit the feet of the people who want them: runners with big, smashed feet.
