I loved the Bondi 4. The toe of this new 5 is very tight. I don't know why you pointed the toe so much. It is probably the most comfortable shoe out there but I may have to go to a bigger size which I hate to do considering how big looking the shoes are. All you had to do was just widen the forefoot of the 4 - it would be perfect!

After two surgeries on left foot have full big toe fusion . My knees began to hurt . I believe in time after break in these shoes will help . Only problem I have feet that are one a 7 and the other 7.5 . No fix for that.

It's a miracle! Wide (D) width in a Hoka! I love the feel of Hoka shoes. I've had Cliftons in the past, which were just not wide width. Though, I managed to PR in 3 races with them one season! However, they squeezed my wide feet horribly, causing my toes to go numb, rubbing awful spots. I typically wear a size 8.5 EE in shoes. Hoka does not offer (though, they should) a EE width. I opted to suffer with the width, for the plush.
I was overjoyed when I saw a wide width (D) is now available. Though, disappointed with the limited color and only one shoe type offering, decided to give it a try. I've had them less than a month now. My speed difference in them is notable from my New Balance I typically wear for its size and width offerings. I drop about 1/2 minute per mile with these Bondis. Still not quite wide enough. I would love to see a EE width. And I'd love it in something other than basic blue.......a beautiful pink would be amazing!
Thanks Hoka:)

I just got a pair of black Bondi 5s after having worn thru my previous Bondis. Immediately I could tell they are a bit wider. They fit, but only with the laces tied fairly tight. I held them up to the old ones and they seem to be the same length, but they feel roomier all around. My feet have been hurting quite a bit, and when I put them on I felt like I was walking on clouds. I have hallux rigidus, and they are the perfect shoe that puts zero pressure on the big toe. I have hardly taken them off for three days now. I haven't tried running yet, but I walked a few miles yesterday and couldn't have been happier. All that said, they are UGLY! I got the black, and they just look huge and thick. Oh well, that's the price for comfort.

Run about 40+ miles per week. I have terrible Plantar Fascitis, so I thought I'd give these a go as they were recommended for those with PF. The tongue (particularly on my left) dug into my tibialis anterior tendon so much - it was so painful I would sometimes feel sick as I was running. So, for awhile I re-laced my shoes and tied them loosely to avoid pain on the top of my food, but after awhile, it just got worse. And the whole top of my foot hurt! I had to stop wearing them and go back to my old Arahis which still had a few miles in them. I actually considered totally cutting off the tongues of the Bondis - they are JUST SO STIFF!!! It's like they have a layer of stiff plastic on the top of tongue and it's longer than most tongues on my shoes. ???
So, I'm going back to the Cliftons with my next purchase - those have been my tried-and-true jam and maybe I will try the Bondis out again in the next iteration. My feedback: these shoes are excellent except for the tongue. Put a Clifton or Arahi tongue on these bad boys and I think they could really be gooooooood.

I really liked this shoe . However, for me, the fit was too wide in the heel and roes , Felt great to walk in but my heel kept slipping up.My feet are narrow and I add an extra arch to the shoes.
I have worn the Cliftons for several years without any foot problems. Thought I would try the Bondi.

If I never looked down or in a mirror these would be great. Unfortunately, my “tween” kids & I could not get over how big they look on my feet. They were very comfortable- maybe I’ll try another color some time.

These shoes were recommended by my orthopedist to assist me with osteoarthritis pain in my knees. However, the toe box feels narrow because of how thick the midsole is, and the shoes don't feel comfortable, though they certainly have great cushioning. My foot feels as though it is at an angle, which I think is on purpose to distribute the weight bearing across the knee and not just in one point, but it's a feeling I don't think I will get used to.

I tried these on in a store and loved them. The salesperson told me that nurses love them, and as a person that can sometime be on her feet for 20 hours in a day, that sounded perfect. I ordered these and they came in the next day! I eagerly laced up and went to work. After about 30 minutes I notice that the toe box was quite a bit narrower than I recalled in store, and it was beginning to cause discomfort. After about 5 hours, the bottoms of my heels were on fire! I didn’t think it was possible that a shoe this cushie could be so uncomfortable. After 10 hours I went home and put on my old broken down Brooks Adrenaline 17s for some relief. I was really hoping these would be the the next “best thing” for me, but sadly they weren’t. I’m really glad that Zappos has such an amazing return policy!

This is a great shoe with one major flaw: the tongue is stiff and uncomfortable. I am an avid runner and after my first few runs with these I had developed a bruise on the top of my foot where my ankle meets. I loved the cushion and feel of these shoes though, so I cut the hard part of the tongue out. Now I love them and wear them for every run. The tongue of the shoes should be flexible and soft, not stiff to the point of where they cause bruises. Fix this issue and you've got yourself a great shoe. I also use these for my 12 hour shifts as a nurse and the cushioning is wonderful.

Unusual design, but great looking shoe. Initially ordered size 10 1/2, but had to exchange for size 10 as they do run long. My foot is on wide side & these had plenty of room. Unfortunately, I am going to have to return under Zappo's GREAT return policy for running shoes. I tried running in them several times. For some reason, my feet go numb & the shoes are uncomfortable. The rocking motion takes some getting used to, but that along with the padding makes these shoes comfortable for walking only. I usually prefer Asics or Brooks and think I will stick with those brands. I am classified as a supinator/underpronator, if that helps.

In the past I have purchased the Stinson ATR. I love those shoes. I saw the Bondi had good reviews so I decided to give them a try. I was honestly disappointed. They had great cushion but the stability was nothing in comparison to the Stinson along with the toe box being too narrow. They also rubbed my ankles. I do alot of exercise off of paved surfaces and these shoes just wern't what I needed. Also being a vet tech and short, I need stability to help my balance while trying to hold onto larger wiggly/aggressive dogs on the table and the Bondi just didn't work. I returned them. Unfortunatly, they did not have any preferance exchanges in stock for me so I had to look elsewhere.

This is not my favorite Hoka I am sorry to say. My favorite shoe is the Vanquish II, which is no more. Second is the Arahi, but although the Arahi has nice pronation support it lacks the cushioning of the Vanquish. I will try some arch supports for this shoe, which is nicely cushioned. It just lacks adequate arch support. My arches hurt by the end of the first day.

The left shoe felt good but the right one was really uncomfortable because of the arch. So I sent them back and ordered the Bondi's, the top off the right shoe hurt my foot so I sent them back also

The sole is great and the shoe is very comfortable. I highly recommend it to everyone in need of a great athletic shoe. However, I have only had mine for a month and the side of my right shoe is already peeling off! The paint is also coming off to near the sole. This is ridiculous. These shoes are far too expensive to be wearing out this quickly.

Cushion is nice and feels like running on a cloud. Wide toe box but hugs the heel which I need. However, during my run, these put emphasis on the ball of the foot which put too much pressure on my calves and made my toes go numb. Too bad -
they are really nice looking Hokas! Going back!

not as comfortable to me as the Clifton 3. Says it has MORE cushion, but it doesn't feel like it to me. Returning to go back to the Clifton 3 which I managed to find elsewhere. The Clifton 4 is now made very narrow. Who wants their toes squashed in a running shoe?!
I'd also recommend:
nothing quite like Hoka!

I've been running in the Bondi 4 for the past three years...they were recommended by my PT after foot and back issues kept me from running for 5 years! LOVE the Bondi 4 and it seems like the Bondi 5 is NOT the same...not nearly as much cushion, super wide. Not sure the Bondi 5 will work for me...bring back the Bondi 4!!!!

I normally wear a 7.5 wide tennis shoe. I ordered this in three sizes. 8M, 8W and 7.5W. In the Clifton 3 Style I wore an 8M because wide widths were not available. All three sizes in the Bondi 5 ran long and were so wide in the heal that I had to return all three. Also, the navy blue with the pink and purple shoe strings are not navy but more of a purple navy. Absolutely hideous color and would not match anything, not even jeans.
I'd also recommend:

Working long hours on concrete floors had me bite the bullet and buy these steeply priced shoes. They seemed great at first other than being completely hideous, style wise. Within a week or two the side of my right sole was separating from toe box. Started to notice how my arch wasn't supported whatsoever in these shoes and bought insoles, but these shoes still end up feeling hard and leave me with sore heals at the end of the day. Save your money!
