Let me first state that I am not a runner, though I dearly love running shoes. If you see me running, it's because something is chasing me. That said, I love these shoes. I have plantar fascitis and was skeptical of trying a brand I'd never heard of before, but I'm so glad I did. This particular style is designed for overpronators - and it's amazing how my feet feel after finally figuring that out and having a shoe that aligns your feet to counteract that rolling. These are super cushy and supportive. I haven't even had to put my orthotics in them yet. Yeah, I'm amazed too. I sometimes need a wide width, but the medium in these was more than sufficient, with ample room in the toe box. I like the dark navy color too - it doesn't show up with dirt as easily. Very nice shoe.

I bought these to work and run in. I am 47yo and work long busy hours as physical therapist. I try to run 3-4 miles everyday either on road or treadmill. I usually run in Saucony Guides for probably 8 years and have always loved them and still own a pair of Guide 10s. These Hokas I loved straight out of the box. They fit size wise same as Sauconys. I wear an 8 running shoe, size 7-7.5 reg street shoe and size 8 feels good. Width wise the toe box has more space as my Sauconys. The heel/toe lift differential is lower than my Sauconys and so it feels like my heels are sitting just wee bit lower than my forefoot. Not sure if they do, it appears like they are level. But the foot bed is so supportive and comfortable my feet very happy all day. Also a very light shoe. I wore them to work first and just wanted to run all day. Just feel like running once they're on your feet.

Love this shoe!! It's the first time an athletic shoe or sneaker felt truly comfortable on my problem feet. Wide front with AA heel is difficult to fit & the Hoka One One Gaviota did the trick. Bought for rehab program after double knee replacements my kees/legs don't hurt as much. Much more shoe than I need since I can't do high impact & will never run on bionic knees, but so glad these worked.
Tried 8 other shoes from Zappos in various sizes/widths til this winner

I was surprised at how narrow these felt in the tie box. I am Glad that the 2017 models seem to run true to size again. Last yrs models seem to run short and 2015 were so narrow I almost abandoned hope b/c I love my Hokas. This pair was not a fit for me. But those with more narrow feet may enjoy them.

SERIOUSLY SOME OF THE MOST COMFORTABLE SHOES EVER MADE!! Unfortunately, these made my toes go numb! I have absolutely no idea why this happened. I didn’t have them laced up tightly or anything. It is the weirdest thing to happen to me with a pair of shoes. So sad because these truly are soooooooo amazingly comfortable (until toes start going numb).

These shoes are fabulous! Bought my size and they're a perfect fit, even for my skinny heel. Also very easy on my bunion. Wish I'd known about them before this.

This is a great lightweight supportive shoe. It's very roomy in the toe which is nice since I am working on changing my overpronating hair. It's almost impossible to overpronate in this shoe, which is exactly what I needed. It cradles the heel very securely. It's not as springy as the Speedgoat, but that's okay. I bought a half size up from my street shoe size and it's perfect.

Hoka One One is one of the few shoe brands that I can wear, as I have to wear straight last, supportive shoes due to multiple foot fusions and custom orthotics. This is one of a few models that comes in wide, which I also need. They shoes look sharp (I think this color combination is the only one that comes in a wide width), provide good stability, and are very comfortable. I don't run, because I can't, so these are my everyday shoe.
I used to wear the Hoka Constant, which was discontinued some years ago, and this model seems to be the closest thing to a replacement. I am very happy with this brand. I also wear the low and mid hiker made by Hoka and am equally thrilled with them as well.

I tried a 10.5 and 11 and have kept the 11. These are nicely, but more firmly, cushioned and keep pronation well under control. I like the firmer cushioning better that the softer type on Clifton 4 and Bondi's,it's more like the Hoka trail shoe cushioning, which I really like. I recently began to overpronate on one foot for now and have tried several different brands of stability shoes, e.g. Brooks and New Balance, but theses Gaviota's give most stability of any hose so far. They fit my new orthotics well. Only problem, and reason for the 3 star comfort rating, is that the heel cup is too deep and backs of shoes dig into my ankle. I have used KTape with some success but a small lift placed at the heel helps the most. I am keeping these shoes but probably will not buy a backup pair.

These are cute and look like they would provide a lot of comfort; unfortunately with my feet that is not the case. They feel very hard and the toe box was just a tad too small for comfort. And I was so very hopeful based on all the reviews I went through. Thanks again Zappos for your patience. When I finally find something that will work with my feet, I am going to buy 5 pairs!!

Like most that buy Hoka, I have issues with my forefoot. I purchased Speed Instinct trail runners and they are so cushy and comfortable (although I don't love the style). I workout in them and have no pain (bunion, arthritis, neuroma)! I purchased the Gaviota in hopes of the same but was disappointed. Don't get me wrong, these are very comfortable with lots of cushion and an open toe box BUT the difference is the cushioning is much firmer. The cushion at the ball of the foot is too firm and slightly aggravates the neuroma and makes my little toes go a bit numb. I wanted to suck it up and keep them but that would be dumb. Sending these back to try again...

Nice shoes, just not enough arch support to help with severe overpronation.

This is my 2nd pair of the Gaviota. I love them. Lightweight, wash well, and fit well. The toe box on this style is slightly "boxier" than on others and it accommodates my bitty bunion well.

First experience with Hoka brand purchased May 2018, Clifton. Lost my ability to walk well, right leg buckles, no balance. 2010 fall broke foot in several places, leaving weakness to ankle and pronation. Liked the Cliford, yet needed more stability. Went on their site to review for stability. Was concerned, for past "stability" shoes way too stiff. The GAVIOTA has great stability! Not stiff. But felt as though I could not push off, felt difficult to get foot moving off the ground. Kept trying, staying away from Cliford which has great roll forward, helped. Pressed through, and now I am pleased with the shoe. I usually wear 6 in sport shoe, and bought 6 in Gaviota. If you want to wear thick socks and orthotics, may be snug. Not much arch support with their own insert, but I made up the difference with my own insert. The color, Paradise Pink/Neon Orange is what i hoped it would be in person, different and unique. Much brighter than shows on my screen! Only kind of down-side is shoe has the appearance of being a tad bulky, but that is to be expected when you need more rubber-meets-the-road. Hope this helps someone.

I have acute on chronic plantar fasciitis and both my doctors and some friends recommended trying Hoka. I had avoided them due to the clunky appearance, but they've improved that and I was at a point that I was willing to try anything. The shoes fit well and were comfortable from the start. I will buy them again when I need another pair of athletic shoes. Full disclosure: I have custom orthotics so I can't speak to the support.

Only shoe I wear to walk the golf course and for pickleball and tennis. I suffer from severe osteoarthritis in my right knee and left hip. Walked all over New England last year. Never a problem. Own several pairs of the medieval blue as they don’t make it anymore which I hate. Over the years tried every brand and these are hands down the best ever. Love the lower heal. Great arch support. Can’t say enough.

I was hoping not to love these because they cost more than I am comfortable paying. However, I put them on and immediately pressure/pain that I usually feel on my lower back went away. They were wide enough for my wide feet and felt true to size. I’ve gone running and worked out with weights and I felt like the stability and cushioning were excellent. I’ve already recommended these shoes to two people with back issues, which I’ve never done before. They are a little bigger than your average running shoe, but don’t look clunky in size 6 wide.

I love these shoes as I have a lot of heel pain, some plantar fasciatis and narrow, over pronated feet.My physical therapist says I have incompetent arches, My husband is a runner (I am mostly a walker) and he highky recommended Hokas to me. About a week ago, I got a chance to try some Hokas and as soon as
I put these Gaviota shoes on, my feet felt so much better! I wear them for every day use and if my heel
is sore when I put them on, they feel relief and no pain after 5 -10 minutes of walking in these. The way they feel? Stable firm support, plenty of room in toe box, nice wrap around feeling on uppers, easy to put on and off with little heel hold. They were expensive in the store $168, now i am looking for another less expensive pair on line as I really enjoy them.

I have plantar fasciitis and these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I am not a runner but I do a lot of walking and aerobics. These feel like I’m walking on a cloud and are very stable and sturdy. I don’t find these shoes to be all that attractive but I have gotten lots of complements on them!

This is my first pair or Hokas and overall I'm pleased. I was looking for a shoe that would provide cushioning for high-mileage weeks and this delivers. It is surprisingly light and not so soft that you feel like you're running on marshmallows. True to size, plenty wide.

Have been loyal Ravenna shoe wearer for years until my feet started getting screwy and I needed orthodics and a wider shoe box. Tried the newest Ravenna but the orthodics made my heel sit up too high which made my foot slip out slightly with every step and the padding under the shoe was not sufficient any more for my 'problem feet'. Have been searching long and hard and went through several brands and styles before I came across the Hoka. But since I needed a stability shoe and a style that offered a wide shoe box PLUS good cushioning under the ball of the foot I ended up buying these and I love them so far. Have not used them for running on asphalt yet but just in gym classes where the ball of the foot takes a lot of pressure (doing lunges, planks etc.) and have been pain free so far! Like the color (got the dark blue) and they don't look too 'clunky' compared to other athletic shoes. Thank you Zappos for being so patient with me as I certainly have pushed the limits with all my returns...….
