Nice material, good construction. Large should be sold as an XL, keep them for a pool guest.

I am 5' 10", 170 pounds, and a solid Medium in most brands. I purchased these in Medium, and they definitely run large, especially in the legs. The waist is very generous as well. It made more financial sense to keep them, but I suspect their wear will be limited.

I ordered medium and the shorts say medium, but they are huge

Shorts are ok, definitely a bit baggy in the legs and fit a bit funny. But for the price they'll be fine knock around shorts and aren't worth returning.

I really like the swim trunks, the design is awesome and they're comfortable. The pockets are a huge plus. I always try to find swim trunks with pockets. I gave it a 3 due to the cut of the shorts. They don't taper much towards the bottom. It's very very baggy just above the knee. Looks really weird. Might just be back up shorts now.

Purchased these shorts at a great price. They are very well made as is most Columbia items. My only issue is that the leg openings are way too wide, almost as wide as the waistline!! So unhappy.

I ordered two of these because of perceived quality and looks in a medium with a 6" inseam. I swim laps about three times a week. The prints do look good and the pockets are very practical. However, the material is not soft and a little irratating on the skin. The waist cord does hold very well, but you need to get these suits wet before adjusting the cord because they slip down on me if I don't do this. This is the only swimsuit I have ever seen with belt loops...maybe this is needed for someone who wears these as regular shorts instead of a swimsuit. Also, at least one of the two front pockets turn inside out on me every time I swim. I won't be buying any more of these swimsuits. Maybe they will soften up over time.

These shorts don't fit right, they are way to big in the legs. They flare out and are unflattering. It's to bad because I bought them for my son to wear on 4th, but they don't look good.

Nice color, good material and print but wayyy too big for me. 6'2" over 200lbs and I was swimming in these (large size). These are not boardshorts style.

I bought these in Bright Aqua Camo and still love the color. However while the waist fits fine, the legs are very baggy. So much so that the baggy legs ride up and float in the water with pockets inside out due to the sheer material. Sort of looks like a floating skirt. Best for land use only. Hopefully this cool pattern can be recycled into a better product.

The 8" model is a bit long for my taste. The color was muddy causing the pattern to blend in. Not as nice as other colors of this model I own

Quality items that are xl or xxl, the size is needed in the waist not the thighs.. The bottom of these shorts are like a parachute.. Unwearable... while waist is just right. wont buy again

The size was a mismatch even after re ordering . ..

The leg opening on on these shorts is comically huge. When I tried them on my wife and kids laughed at me! Sent them back. The waist was fine but there is no reason the leg opening should be that big, and I am far from having chicken legs.
